The Lucky Inn Chinese in Omagh

Never mind The Lucky Inn it should be changed to The Lucky Dip Inn due to you'll be Lucky if you get what you order. Then it's guess the price time, order something at £5.80 on their Facebook menu but it's £7.00 in reality. This is significantly amount when you are ordering for 4-6 people as we regularly do. We have been using this restaurant (I use this term lightly) for around 35years back when it was the Good Evening and then the Omani. Then it changed hands and was a good place, but over the past 4-5 year it has gone from good to bad to Lucky Dip Inn. I will never use again.

My recent visit to the Lucky Inn was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with an atmosphere that can only be described as a chaotic blend of outdated decor and a complete lack of hygiene. The staff, oblivious to the concept of customer service, seemed more interested in chatting among themselves than attending to patrons. As for the food, it was a culinary disaster. The menu promised a variety of dishes, but what arrived at our table resembled a sad attempt at culinary art. The flavors were not just bland; they were practically nonexistent. It felt like the chef had given up on any semblance of taste or quality. To make matters worse, the hygiene standards left much to be desired. The tables were sticky, the utensils were questionably clean, and the restrooms were a horror show. It's astonishing how a place like this can pass health inspections. In terms of ambiance, the Lucky Inn seemed trapped in a time warp, clinging desperately to a bygone era without any regard for updating or maintaining its facilities. The outdated furniture and worn-out carpets contributed to an overall sense of neglect. Save yourself the agony and steer clear of the Lucky Inn. There are countless other establishments that value their customers, cleanliness, and culinary craftsmanship. This place is a culinary catastrophe waiting to happen.

Well guys I remember when your spot opened as a Chinese restaurant about forty years ago. I called earlier you'll recall to suggest the chicken fried rice is not particularly good. I believe the egg and the rice should be introduced to each other in the wok at ordering time. I want to see the egg in the rice. The explanation given of how the rice and egg are cooked in advance explains the poor appeal of the rice. The basics: Day old rice in the wok, introduce the egg, introduce the soy around the edge, spring onion. Serve.

Very hard to get thrkugh on phone. Staff are friendly. Food was decent. Wonton soup and ribs nice. Don’t like their version of chow mien but beef and black bean is decent.

I’ve been here for dinner a few times over the last few months and it is excellent. Staff are so attentive and friendly. The food is so fresh and tastes amazing. Definitely my favourite Chinese restaurant in town.

Jo Jo prawn did not satisfy the sauce was very sweet with no garlic not even a hint of garlic Very disappointing as I went here after only one other Chinese offering same menu in Omagh which I would not return the reason I won’t mention Please put garlic instead of sugar in the sauce and I will be back Next time I will state extra garlic Doesn’t live up to what it says on menu

Got a family meal tonight and literally there was no chicken inside the batter of the crispy chicken. The chips were days old and must of been recooked ten times. The chips you could not eat we picked a few out but see the photo for what the majority of the bag were like. Definitely will not be back 🤢

This was my favourite take away in town and was one of the best not anymore there chicken is over cooked rubber

Food tends to be good but delivery painfully slow - often we’ll over an hour, and they NEVER answer the phone. Every time I want to order it takes 20, 30 or more calls to get through. On the last occasion I ended up driving to be told “yeah, we just don’t answer the phone if we’re busy” I’ve had enough of the terrible service now, and won’t be back.

Food was terrible, chicken like rubber and dried out. Got 2 specials, but tasted like that were made days ago, we will not be back

Great food, friendly staff, the Chicken Rendeng is outrageous!!!! Dont change anything.... havent been able to try anything else on the menu since my first rendeng, every time I am back I keep getting it, just cant resist.

Best Chinese takeaway in town. Speedy service and great food at a reasonable price. Also delivery which is very efficient.

The young waitress was fantastic. Run off her feet but always had a smile. Very efficient. Poor girl was let down by poor quality food. Best suggestion, look elsewhere.

Have never been disappointed with Lucky inn. Food is so good and the service is brilliant and very quick. Lovely ambience too, very well decorated. Have been coming here for years and it's still great quality for a good price.

Went to this Chinese for the first time based on the reviews and was I disappointed as it was for a family occasion and I ordered quite an extensive order and I only got half of what I ordered when I rang the girl asked could I drive back for the other half but did not offer to deliver then suggested that I can get it again I’m not sure how that is going to happen as she did not even ask for my name! Think I will rule out this Chinese in future as I would prefer not to drive 15miles back to get the other half of my order customer service is obviously not their top priority or they would of went out of their way to help out! Very disappointed customer!

We use this take away a lot as it is local for us. Tasty food, reliable delivery, pleasant staff. What's not to like?

I have left a very positive review of the lucky inn in the past, however recently I have had an unfortunate experience which has greatly affected my opinion in an overwhelming way. I rang in for a delivery on a Friday night, and was given a reasonable estimate of the delay before the food arrived, 45 minutes. This is a very fair estimate given that it was a busy night and I live 10-15 minutes from the town. After about an hour and a half passed, there was still no food at my door. I eventually decided to ring in to confirm that the order was on its way, and was informed that the delivery drivers had already left about 20 minutes ago, and that the food should arrive very shortly. I wasn't particularly happy, but these things happen and I thanked the young lady on the phone for the update. After an excruciating further 30 minutes wait, the food finally arrived. This took the total time for delivery to approximately 2 hours, which is a simply unacceptable delay in my view. The delivery driver apologised for the delay, however I will not be eating with this Chinese again. I am thoroughly disappointed as this was my go-to Chinese.

Finding this chinese was the luckiest thing ever to happenit so amazing and tasty buy im wanting SOME OF THE DRIPPING JUICY CHECKEN BALLS RIGHT NOW yum!!

This used to be a nice restaurant but lately the food is very poor. I got a chicken curry and fried rice tonight and it was tasteless. I threw it in the bin. Previous orders taken wrong and the food just got very poor and bland. I won’t be back, my own home made curry would put theirs to shame.

TripAdvisor has this place as one of the highest rated places in Omagh. Not true. It’s grand if you want a bog-standard Chinese but if you’re looking something more than a chicken curry half and half, try somewhere else first.

This is my fave Chinese, their chicken cheese rolls are amazing, no matter what my main is I've got to have a portion. Oh and their satay sauce is to die for....

Suerte en el Llamado Inn a las 6 de la tarde, ofrecen una muy buena relación calidad-precio menú té, buena selección de entrantes y platos principales. El personal era amable y servicial, y tenía un buen conocimiento de su menú. Realmente disfrutamos de la comida, la comida es de buena calidad a un precio razonable. También disfrutamos del desierto helado. Ha sido bastantes años desde que visitamos la suerte Inn, y fue una agradable sorpresa, tanto por la calidad y la relación calidad-precio.

The Lucky Inn is my favourite place to eat out or even get a take away from, I would choose it over any other Chinese in Omagh town!

Tomó mis dos hijos a la Suerte para el menú de alta Inn té. El personal era muy amable. La comida era sabrosa salió rápidamente y las raciones son tan grandes que ninguno de nosotros pudo acabar el plato principal! Sin duda, volveremos.

Realmente impresionados con un temprano visita nocturna a este restaurante. La comida era deliciosa y buena relación calidad-precio para una cena de tres platos. Los niños son difíciles de complacer, pero ahora quieren volver y pronto.

I was in Ireland for the week to meet my boyfriend's family and he took me to Omagh as it was the only place with bigger shops in. All through the week we had been getting takeaways because he had missed the chicken balls special in NI (he moved to Liverpool for uni) and has always said he like the takeaways better back home, made me try them and I can't disagree with him one bit. Regardless of us having chicken balls special everyday for 5 days straight we still wanted a Chinese and found The Lucky Inn Chinese (the others were very hard to locate). We both ordered chicken balls to eat in because he lived too far away so it wouldn't be nice reheated but we noticed there was a big difference in price to take out and to eat in, it was so much more expensive to eat in but I understand considering the extra labour of cleaning up and serving etc. The place is very oriental and classy too, the name perfectly fits in with the way it's set out, it's beautiful. The staff were helpful and fulfilled our needs in an instant. The food was the best chicken balls we had ever had that week, crispy and cooked just right! The sweet and sour sauce is exactly how sweet and sour should be made (the best sweet and sour sauce I've ever had). If you're in Omagh anytime soon looking for a place to eat, I recommend the lucky inn! It's perfect and affordable!

Firstly I want to say that the food in the Lucky Inn was lovely and the serving staff were very polite. A very nice restaurant. However....our actual dining experience wasn't all that great and to be quite frank i wanted to leave because all i could hear was constant shouting coming from the kitchen which I believe was the owners wife. The lady that happened to be shouting had no thought or regard for her customers and i did not like the way she treated her staff. All in all i think the restaurant would be better run without her. Such a pity cause this was a great wee place to eat.

first time at this restaurant last weekend, went for a takeout and it was great. The meal deals are Excellent value. I can't wait to try more from there extensive menu, Thai and Malaysian in particular. They also deliver but I didn't have to wait long on my order. The staff were friendly and efficient. I will definitely be back and maybe sit in next time.

a very good Pub with food and drink at reasonable prices the only thing is you must be hungry because the meals are very large

Based on previous reviews we decided to eat from here tonight. Whilst the portions were very large indeed I felt the quality, compared to other chinese restaurants we have eaten in, was poor. The tastiest part of the meal was the Chicken Cheese rolls. Evrything else was mediocre and nothing to write home about. Based on the review from Kevin W. I had the beef in Nagoya style and was very disappointed indeed. It is described as Sour, chilli and fruity. It was only hot with chilli. My daughter had the chicken satay and to be honest I have made better chicken satay at home! My husband had the Special Fried rice and this of all the dishes looked the most unappetizing. - overall a waste of money and a big disappointment!

I definitely agree with the other reviewers. I have only to date had take away and the food has always been great no matter what we have ordered. Certainly the best Chinese food. Can't wait to eat in the restaurant at the next opportunity.

The lucky Inn is by far the best Chinese restaurant in omagh, the food is really delicious (my favourite dish is the beef in nagoya style) and staff are very friendly.

By far the best Chinese in omagh! The food is prefect and not expensive plus the young blonde girl serving is such a pleasure and has been for the last few years we have been going. We have never had a single issue in 15/20 visits and I can't recommend the lucky in more - you won't be disappointed

I went there for my birthday and I was so happy I did. The food was delicious and well presented and we received great service. Loved it
