It took 3 hours to serve 3 courses and ruined a special dinner. Looking back at the reviews it seems this was not a one off. The idea that this place is a five star resort is a complete joke.

Avoid eating at this establishment. 2h50m for a simple meal of poor quality and overpriced. We can only assume profit before quality is the instruction from the top.

You couldn't beat the food at Loughside! My husband and I both devoured the ribs and my mother-in-law always orders the fish and chips - the batter is perfectly light and crispy. The staff were attentive without being pushy, and the views ... you must see for yourself! Also an exquisite range of draft beers - hope to suit any palate.

Took my wife for a special treat but was very disappointed. The food was OK but the service was terrible. Took about 2 hours 40 minutes to get through 3 courses, I wouldn't have stayed but I'd paid as part of the overnight package. I had to ask if my pint was coming at the start as this was taking a long time. Then we waited an hour between starter and main until my wife complained and we were told the ticket had fallen on the floor or something. Then waited 30 minutes for the desert until I asked the manager who came up with some story about our waitress running off after someone who hadn't paid. To cap it all off when we were finally done I had the pint to pay for. Paid on card and I asked the waitress for the card receipt which she didn't want to give me so I checked my account online to see she charged me £60 for the pint but would have been happy to let me pay that and that's why she didn't want to give me the card receipt. Several tables around us were also complaining. The whole place was a fiasco.

We had a meal for two last night at this restaurant. The food was just average, nothing special. I had fish and chips with mushy peas. I wasn’t able to eat even half of the meal and when I asked for a takeaway box it was refused on the grounds of health and safety! My husband had the beef steak and it was £34 with absolutely nothing with it! He had to pay an extra £6 for a dish of mashed potatoes! I had a cocktail at £12.50 and my husband had a pint of cider at £5.80. The total bill was £81 for 2 main courses and 2 drinks! I could not believe it! And we paid using a voucher that our children had bought for my husband’s 60th birthday! It is very poor value for money! The atmosphere was quite nice but we were advised beforehand that we had a time to be out for! The staff were nice and pleasant and our waitress brought my plate back so that I could take 3/4 of my fish and chips home in a napkin! This is not what we expected from a five star hotel! Needless to say we will not be rushing back!

The review would have been better had it not been the bad/ lack of management of a large rowdy group of male golfers in the restaurant. The group were in-situ when we arrived and already a bit raucous - not a problem in itself - i think you have to expect that when it comes to any large group booking. The problem was the group continued to get louder and louder. It got so bad the poor waitress couldn't hear us properly when taking our orders - this resulted in all of us shouting our orders and you guessed it - a few mistakes when our orders did arrive. To point out we weren't sat next to them either, we were a reasonable distance away - thats how ridiculously loud they were. If this had been a pub, I wouldn't have thought much of it - but this was a restaurant and shouldn't have been allowed to get so out of hand. At no point did the manager approach the group and ask them to lower the volume a bit. When the food arrived it was a good enough standard, and everyone enjoyed it. We had to chase for desserts a couple of times to get a menu and then to place an order - however when it arrived it all tasted great. It just put a damper on the whole experience. Such a shame as it looked a lovely restaurant and the waitress who served us was lovely.

At a wedding recently in The Ross suite, food was exceptional but they need to put the same effort into how they clean their pint glassware, the pints were coming out with loads of bubbles inside the glass, probably caused by washing them with cups or other contaminated items. Also there was no availability of local Irish lager such as Harp or Rockshore, come on your food is good but the beer needs to be treated the same, especially at the price of it,

I wasn’t going to write this review because I don’t like to be negative but this was just such a bad experience I feel I need to share it. Firstly, we waited an hour on any food coming out. We ordered 3 10oz sirloin steaks and when they arrived I couldn’t quite believe what I was seeing! These steaks all cost £34 each and they were shocking! Tiny! One of our party had ordered their steak well done and it looked like something someone threw on a BBQ at a drunken party and forgot about it! It was charred black! I’d also seen bigger burgers. I could not believe a chef would let food like that out of the kitchen. Let alone have the audacity to charge £34 for it!! The waiting staff were pleasant and sent another steak - equally as bad and offered drinks to compensate but our meal had been ruined. We ordered ice cream for dessert but after waiting 20 minutes for it in an empty restaurant we decided to just leave. I’m still annoyed at the scandalous price of the steaks we got served up. There are places doing steak much much better that don’t cost anywhere near these prices. In my opinion, don’t waste your hard earned.

We arrived about 20 minutes before our booking but this wasn’t a problem we were shown to an area and given a choice of a few different tables, lovely to be able to choose which one we would like. We ordered chicken caesar salad and chicken wings for starter, both were really tasty, for mains we had fish and chips and the burger again both were lovely and all big portions. There was a nice break between courses, the staff were pleasant and attentive would definitely recommend

I visited the Loughside Bar and Grill for an light lunch today. We did think we would be eating in the hotel but we were directed to the Grill. The young girl serving was pleasant. After ordering we noticed that the restaurant wasn't clean. The floor hadn't been swept in some time, there was dirt and food under the table. food was mediocre to say the least, drowned in dressing and lacking any imagination. The vinegar bottle had gunge floating in it, (as did the second one when we asked for another). The sugar bowl had crusty spills on the side. On the whole, 5* prices for 2 star experience. Grossly overpriced. Unclean. Cold. And a service charge added on the bill!!!!! Safe to say I won't be back. Any of our wonderful local coffee shops provide a much superior menu and service. I've never before written a poor review but on this occassion I genuinely felt strongly that the standard of the food and venue were a long way off that of a 5 🌟 Hotel. Eating out is a rare treat- such a shame.

I can’t believe this grill bar is supposedly attached to a five star hotel! It’s high street cafe at best and there are many high street cafes of much better standard. Starter was appalling. Meat terrine was a stone cold slab of ‘spam’, reminiscent of what you’d get from a Fray Bentos tin. We ordered whole chicken to share for main and it wasn’t available….how on earth could a restaurant not have such a simple dish as whole chicken. This is poor planning and unacceptable. Service was slow, well over half an hour between courses. Service charge included, it should be up to the customer to tip or not. I would NOT recommend this grill bar . It was money wasted. And by the way, even the red wine was bitter!

Starter was chicken strips in batter, extremely thin strips of chicken for 10 pounds? Main course was a shared platter half was deep fried and extremely expensive at 30 pounds even for two. Others in family were not impressed particularly the duck salad which was awful, main lights switched on at 10.10 a kind of get out please sign. This is extremely expensive for what you get and I would avoid. Waiting staff were pleasant.

Not a great atmosphere. Pork starter was ok but the spiced chicken - bland - was like something that came in a bag from supermarket deep fried - not sure what the spice was but could not be tasted on chicken or sauce! The curry was AWFUL…was literally like cooked sliced chicken for sandwiches added to a vaguely curried tomato sauce with some veg - naan was hard, really poor meal. Steak was ok, cooked well but small. The chips were awful, lots of bad bits, undercooked. Pepper sauce was nice! The desserts were poor - ice cream was icy. Very expensive prices for poor quality food unfortunately. Would not return!!

Firstly, half an hour wait for our main course (no starter) !! And largely poor main courses - the curry was a nursery version, tasteless rice and small pieces of chicken with a few veg in a vaguely tomatoey sauce while the chips comprised nasty tasting potato and were insufficiently cooked - not eaten. The battered fish was acceptable as was the tarte tatin. If the Erne resort is offering a cheaper alternative to its main restaurant, the standard should be higher. Would travel into Enniskillen to avoid this food again. The staff were pleasant and helpful but not overly concerned with our negative comments on the food.

We attended the Resort for the first time and after a less than auspicious pre lunch drink at the Blaney Bar ( the Server was utterly clueless)we transitioned to the Lough side Grill. There was only one table occupied. Service was friendly and informative. Drinks arrived promptly.Soup of the day was flavoursome and the tempura squid was fresh and well presented. Thereafter Service stalled.. Which was puzzling as there were two Servers and only 3 tables occupied. Eventually the Starters were cleared and the Main Courses arrived. After an even longer wait the Server returned. BE WARNED... I ordered a Double espresso... The charge was a Whopping £7.40...it was only after we left that I checked the Bill.. These days you expect a so called 5 Star resort not to rig the Bill.. But not at the Lough Erne Resort.. On checking the charge should have been £4.50..which of itself is excessive.. I've paid £4.50 for an American served with aplomb and complimentary Petit-fours in the Four Seasons on Park Lane, London and this ain't no Four Seasons. The food was good but the service and ambiance fell very far short of 5 Star. I WILL NOT BE BACK. The espresso left a very sour lingering taste.

They are charging fine dining prices for what is just a bar food menu. I feel that prices should be about 20% lower to reflect their menu. The restaurant has only been open since 2008 and is not that well known locally but if it was known about it would undoubtedly become one of Enniskillen and Fermanagh's most popular restaurants.

Irish Stew, 5 tiny pieces of meat with 2 small potatoes with stale brown bread, not worth £9. Chicken pie, tiny..served in small copper pot, usually used for side orders of vegetables, puff pastry cap...stale and mash potato...nice, not value at £11. Toasted sandwich terrible, not properly toasted...cheese not melted and ham all dried as if prepared earlier and not wrapped correctly. Coffee terrible. Waitress that served us could do with a course in customer service.. no smile, no welcome, no interaction, didn't bother to check our table once food served. When clearing our table I pointed out all of the above points & the reply I got "I will pass your comments on". There was a bar manager on duty but never approached our table. The Loughside is lovely, but very posh for a bar! I had Pate to start which was a little course for my liking but still very nice, for the main I had the Ham hock which was beautiful, the kids shared a kids meal (age 4 and 1 and a half) as they were £9 each which I feel is very dear infact the meal and the wine also was very dear for a bar. They had a lovely idea for a kids dessert, chocolate fondue with strawberries and marshmallows which my so loved! All in all we enjoyed the meal but felt it was a little pricey.

We visited the Loughside while visiting Enniskillen last weekend. Curious to see the resort - if it's good enough for Obama... - we decided to eat at the less formal of the two restaurants. The setting is great, though the buildings of the resort really are dreary, and the restaurant is comfortable enough (but why the need to have a huge TV on?). The bread that came at the start of the meal was a nice touch and pretty good, thereafter things went down hill. The main courses were of poor quality and badly cooked - fries instead of chips with fish!?! - while the lad who tried to serve us forgot our drinks order before than chatting to another couple for just under half an hour. Thankfully his female co-waiter was far more efficient and attentive. She was by far the best thing about the place. Avoid - there are far better places to eat nearby. Obama won't be impressed.

The food was good. The service was slow even though it was not crowded. Our waitress was friendly though. Curry was a favorite dish.

So disappointed, this used to be a top rate restaurant , we've been going for years and had gone there about a month ago too. We thought then it was not up to its usual standard but thought maybe that was a once off . The food today though was poor, eg barely lukewarm - a side order of potato Normandy came in a tiny square, tasteless and not at all freshly cooked. Funny blueness throughout...I would guess reheated potatoes cooked and frozen and defrosted maybe might be the cause of that. It used to come piping hot in an oval dish and delish. The pizza was just OK...they used to be standout tasty. And the prices !!! Wow!! ...really crazy. Last weekend we both had really good full lunches, with oodles of veg , wine, and coffee in a very well known hotel for much less than 2/3 of what we paid today . Lots of young staff but customers were scarce. We really hope it gets back to serving good food at reasonable prices. We miss it.
