Food was delicious! We didn’t like the service charge being added on to our bill without being asked though. I feel that decision should be the customers own. I would definitely leave a tip, off my own choosing. You can’t just take money. This left a bad taste in the mouth.

Pizza was out of this world , wood fired , fresh and delicious - local apple juice is a must better than any I have had for years and the service was exceptional - we just popped in and they were so busy but found us a space and were greated like old friends. Amazing - A Must if your in the area and a great little shop with beautiful candles and gifts. Thank you 🙏🏻

A beautiful location, wonderful food and really great service. Me and my Mum had the anchovies, fougasse, polenta chips and a small salad. It was a light lunch for us both but really great quality! The polenta chips were amazing and the white bean dip was delicious with the fougasse. The service was really great, made you feel welcome. I also really enjoyed my spicy margarita …We will be back!

This restaurant is an amazing find. A bit off the beaten track. Lovely pizzas from huge wood fired pizza oven. Plus lots of very thoughtful and tasty dishes. Great service by the staff too. Lovely views if you are there during daylight. The only downside is that you need to book on busy days because it is very popular - and deservedly popular. Also we have noticed that some customers do not park in a very considerate manner and take up two spaces. That is a shame. There is an overflow car park if you are unlucky to encounter this behaviour.

We were attending a flower workshop at The Lost Kitchen. We booked a table before the workshop for a meal. The menu is really simple and not a great variety but the flavours were on point. Beautiful and relaxing lunch here. Nice music choice in restaurant. Best good food quality, I have seen in the area and lovely friendly staff. The price of the food, we thought it was decent because they give us a satisfactory plate of food, so good portioning, compared to other restaurants these days, small portions and charge us a lot of money. Delicious pizza, the best we ever had because good, very fresh ingredients and pizza dough is top notch, crispy crusts, light and soft in the inside. However, the blackcurrant sorbet was sour the more you have it, it was refreshing from the start, but it needs more sweetness. The rest of the dessert was delightful . We enjoyed our time in The Lost Kitchen and left happy. A hidden gem indeed.

For us; Always book ahead. Probably avoid sitting in with young kids. Checked website which I took a ‘not always necessary to book’ view from but can’t see that now so hopefully it’s been updated. Also said kids welcome but didn’t feel that way with a play area hidden behind another building below the car park near the overflow. Visited mid week in October for lunch so chanced it on the day, assuming it would be quiet enough at this time. Turned up and it didn’t look too busy, waited for toddler to wake up in car before going in, again, observing - not too busy, plenty people coming out probably ok - but it wasn’t. Having read other poor reviews now we unfortunately experienced similar to others. The entrance wasn’t 100% clear to start, had seen others go in at the end of the barn but the sign pointed to the middle door of the barn which we went in as was signed. Gravel path up fine with buggy but would have struggled with it inside…if we had got in. ‘Fully booked’ sign outside to prime for our disappointment. Fine - but it looked half empty so went in to see and it’s human to say hello and interact but as soon as I walked in I felt I’d made a mistake by their expression to my presence. The staff member behind the towering reception desk didn’t come out to welcome us. They were unsure about whether they were fully booked when I asked so they went to check with someone else who came to ratify. Why!? Is that not your role? We could take a ‘no’ but it was the way this was delivered. Got the feeling they were unorganised and possibly sick of saying ‘we’re fully booked’ and they didn’t know how to handle the conversation…which they didn’t. Appreciate it’s a tough industry but - training is needed for FOH, a welcoming forward smile would make a huge difference to start with and ideally acknowledge children. The high reception desk and staff behind makes the customer bark ‘are you full?’ and is a slightly embarrassing position for all, including other diners. We received a forced smile through gritted teeth from the second member of staff…maybe a manager, but some genuine empathy would have been better. No mention of ‘sorry’ and asked about all the spare seating outside (maybe half full inside at this point too). After asking, we were offered drink and cake outside. I got an explanation about not enough space in the oven which confused me as we weren’t actually aware that it was purely a wood fired oven that they cook on so seemed slightly absurd at the time…and still now. Get a regular oven for a light bite menu!? Also had to ask for alternative recommendations which should have come from TLK as part of an apology. With a good rep (good reviews on here and I had it saved as a destination probably from IG) and high expectations - people just expect more. As an idea - a discount or free drink voucher to hand out to soften the blow would have turned our experience into a positive and would have definitely revisited in the two weeks we’re around. There’s so much more that can be done to accommodate customers but there was ZERO effort here. As already noted in TLK responses on here and as they tried to explain to us - the table to kitchen ratio is off balance and on our occasion was probably the aspect that threw our experience off because this is surely the last thing you want to do as a food business and the last thing customers expect you to say. Maybe if one oven of two was broken it something but not as a standard response, or offer a cold menu. Great TLK reply very well to reviews on here and turn a negative into a positive (kill it with kindness) but that wasn’t our experience in person. Might go back from all the positive reviews but won’t go out of our way. Probably go without kids too to give the staff a break. On a final positive note, the venue was lovely, felt approachable upon arrival, opposite a farm so sort of farm to fork feeling and was very much looking forward to eating here from photos of other reviews. Interesting kitchen garden.

We are never disappointed by the Lost Kitchen. The Food is always hard to fault. The menu changes just often enough and it’s always reliably hearty, flavourful & delicious. Drink options are creative and yummy and all in all i think it’s pretty good value. The pizza is pretty average (fine just nothing special) but with such an amazing menu of other delights, who cares! Service is mixed- on our last visit we where served by a young girl who really didn’t want to be there, but our other staff interactions where positive. Generally the service isn’t anything special but is does the job. Amazing dishes, amazing setting

This was my third attempt at trying to frequent this establishment. The first time I was turned away as they were too busy, the second time the doors were open I walked in, half a dozen members of staff were milling around but no-one was keen to engage. Eventually, I asked for a table and was told they were closed. Thanks for the heads up. You may ask why I persisted and went back a third time? There isn’t much competition. After much persuading of staff members we (a party of seven) were allowed to enter. We sat at a table outside. The setting is lovely. The majority of the surly staff; not so much. We waited 15 minutes for someone even to come to our table, and even then this was after one of our party got up and went to find someone. Everything was too much of an effort. It was quite something to be treated with such obvious disdain by a member of the hospitality industry! Finally, we sort out another member of staff and asked if we could have some food. We weren’t expecting pizzas as we were made very aware that because we hadn’t booked this wouldn’t be an option available to us. We just wanted some charcuterie and cheese boards. This member of staff couldn’t have been more accommodating, welcoming and polite! Hence the one star. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone, nor will I be returning. Diners beware!!

What a find! It was a warm evening and we came early, around 5.45pm on a Friday evening, having been searching for somewhere to stop for dinner on a long journey. The setting is stunning, on terraces with plants and flowers, with plenty of seating spread around. There was some live piano music playing which added to the ambiance. The evening menu is mainly wood fired pizzas but with some added sharing platters, which make it nice to mix and match food. Water is brought to the table without even asking, and there is a varied drinks menu. The service was quick, and the food was delicious. I ordered the Eton mess dessert for pudding. For £8.00 it was worth every penny, plenty to eat, and absolutely delicious. We'd definitely go back if we're ever passing again, it was wonderful!

For a lovely setting, this place lets itself down. The food is tasty but pretentious. On the lunch menu, the small plates are very small. You need two to make a meal. The large plates are a normal size. It is not a restaurant for families with young children. I was made to feel like an inconvenience with my daughter even when trying to stay out of the way. The baby changing table in the toilet is very hazardous as it is on a slant. Even with a strap, a wriggly child could fall easily. It is not very accessible to wheelchair and pram users as there is only a gravel path leading to the entrance. After struggling to push the pushchair through the stones on the way in, when I came to leave someone had parked at the end of the ramp so I had to ask them to move. The staff were pretty sober which might have been to do with them being busy but it did feel like we were an inconvenience even though we were a relaxed party with no special demands. It is a shame but I won’t be going back or recommending this restaurant to anyone.

What a little hidden gem in Tiverton. The setting is magical. The staff were just great, cheerful fun and efficient. The menu was interesting and adventurous with something for everyone. They push the boundaries with interesting heavily vegetarian dishes - great for me - although some of descriptions and sizes of dishes are a bit confusing. So to share options can be quite big, small plates for someone over 70 were ample (maybe not for hungry young people!) Pizzas were the best we had ever tasted (and we have been to Naples!!) Really exciting and the wines were interesting too. Definitely going back

A group of four of us went here on the last Sunday in April - it was a central place to meet for a girls lunch. The building is beautiful, as is the setting, & it was great to see the big wood fired oven that everything is cooked in. There is a little plant store & shop that offered a lovely selection of things to treat yourself to. We thought the menu was great (it was hard to choose) & everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food (we completely over ordered but that’s standard!) The only thing that wasn’t up to scratch was the very slow wait times. We’d been there some time & were obviously looking around for someone to offer us drinks. A lady came over (possibly the manager) & welcomed us & said someone would be along shortly… but it would have been much better if she herself could have just taken a four person drinks order - & we couldn’t work out why she didn’t to be honest. The food wasn’t too long a wait but again a long wait for more drinks & then an even longer time sat there waiting for everything to be cleared (and again for the bill). We spent a lot of money for the four of us, in excess of £200, so it was with gritted teeth that we then coughed up for the added service charge (no mention of it being voluntary). We would go back as everything else was so nice , but it would be in the hope that service was a little less chaotic & deserving of an automatic charge on the bill.

Beautiful location and venue, ok food, grumpy service. We visited here as a treat with our children (well behaved may I add) and were greeted with a miserable waitress, who didn’t make eye contact, sent us to our table, put down the menus and walked off. No smile, no chat, nothing. She returned to take our order, absolutely no interaction again. We felt awkward. Are children a problem for you or are the staff just grumpy? We ordered, asking for a drink extra hot is a problem for this waitress, yes I spotted the eye roll. She returned with the drinks, put them down and walked off. Still no smile or chat. The food is a very limited brunch menu, nothing child friendly but we made do with toast. Our hot food arrived pretty dry and unappealing, but when the waitress appeared to ask if all was ok we dare not cross her to tell her. It was actually not very nice. We had high hopes but sadly overall just a massive let down. We certainly wouldn’t recommend visiting with children, we definitely felt this was a problem for them even though our children are very well behaved. Given that the venue is beautiful, the food and service just didn’t live up to our expectations at all. It’s very pricy for the quality of the hot dishes, and the 10% service charge was pretty insulting given that the service was absent! On a positive, when we came to pay a different waitress did this for us and she was very pleasant!

As a consequence of a recommendation I booked a table for two at the Lost Kitchen on Saturday evening 16 03 2024. Notwithstanding the excellent location and ambience of the venue, the remainder of the evening could at best be described as abysmal. Not only was the waitress that served us rude to the point of being obnoxious, the menu was extremely restricted, the overpriced pizzas were nothing special, and our evening was effectively ruined. To add insult to injury a ten percent service charge had already been added to the £60.00 bill prior to settlement. In the event you fit into the category of a wine drinking vegetarian and are happy to overlook abusive staff in preference to ambience you will no doubt enjoy the Lost Kitchen. If on the other hand your choice of fare includes a range of meat dishes and beer served by convivial staff you are likely to be as bitterly disappointed as we were.

Went this weekend for a family meal. The food was great, some of it was exceptional (scallops and pavlova), but the experience was badly let down by very sulky service. One of us is a coeliac so we have to be extra careful to avoid gluten. When trying to order ice cream and make sure the tuile didn't have gluten we were sternly told to "stop talking about the gluten". I don't think the waitress looking after us managed to smile even once. Looking through some other low score reviews it often appears to be about poor service, which is a shame for such a lovely venue and location.

The Lost Kitchen ambience is simply divine and the staff are always cheerful, attentive and welcoming. How lucky are we to have this jewel on our doorstep! See you soon!

Lost Kitchen - lost pizza Popped in for a pizza today, only me on my own. I've been before & it's been good. Upon arrival they've got a sign out saying reservations only, but it was probably only half full - I asked anyway & got a vast table to myself. Why the sign? All I wanted was a pizza, it got to 45 mins before a batch of sliced bread & olive oil appeared & a lady saying the kitchen had lost my ticket, as if it wasn't their fault! I said I needed to get on, anyway another 10 mins & it finally arrived. I asked for a box as I had 4 hours of driving ahead, but they couldn't find a big enough one so I had to cram it in a small box. Then they appear with a big box - too late! I went up to the till to pay expecting a slight discount for their mistake - that's £16.50 waving a card machine at me.... I could have thrown the bl**** pizza at her, but I was hungry! 'You expect me to pay full price'?? She replies "well you didn't say you were in a rush & we only took 10 minutes.... '.' 10 minutes, I wasn't in a rush when I arrived an hour ago...'. 'I got a sort of garbled whisper - ' have the pizza then'.... Mistakes happy, but I didn't hear the word sorry, apologies or anything. It's as if the kitchen is a different business & they can't be held responsible for their actions. I was glad they didn't charge when I tried to eat it driving up the M5, the topping was dumped in the middle making the inner part hugely soggy & doughy, the outer bit was really burnt & the topping was really lacking in chicken.

Once again a great meal, we all went for their Funghi pizzas, which came out perfectly with really tasty mushrooms and truffle oil topping. Their ice creams were excellent, service was pleasant and helpful, I wish that it was closer to where I live and I would become a regular.

Lovely, tasty and delicious wood fired pizzas. Different but only limited choice if you don't like some unusual toppings.

We ate here last night 16th February 2024, the food was very delicious however two of us ordered pollock for £18, when it arrived there was half a medium sized jacket potato and no veg at all!! I did complain to the waitress as I thought it was overpriced with the amount, I must say the black cherry cheesecake was the best dessert I’ve had for a long time

We had a really lovely time here celebrating my mum's birthday, despite the torrential rain ☔ and we'll definitely be back in warmer /drier weather to enjoy the chance to sit out in the beautiful garden. Our pizzas and pitta lunch were delicious, as were the desserts and the service was prompt and very friendly. Highly recommended.

Delicious, creative food in a lovely setting, but the portions are TINY! Even the 'large' plates offer pretty small portions. Still quite hungry after a two-course lunch - and we are not 'hefty' eaters. This happens each time we have visited - will we never learn? We travel hopefully... but maybe it's time to go somewhere that offers more than child-size meals.

We had a birthday celebration lunch here for 10. Good choice of excellent food, great service and atmosphere. Don't expect balloons or firecrackers for your party - or large farmer's portions. This is a classy act. Recommend.

We stumbled across The Lost Kitchen after abandoning our plans for a New Year’s Day walk due to the incessant rain! The staff were all so lovely and accommodating and we had the most delicious food and drinks in the fabulous converted barn. We loved everything about it - the decor, vibe, music, open kitchen, bar, shop…would highly recommend to everyone.

Very quaint set up. Rather a mix match of furniture and rather cramped, especially if you are a bigger party. Make their own beer and some spirits. Food is very pastry orientated, with pizza and pizza like dishes plus the odd special. The foods was very tasty and there was a nice atmosphere.

Had a lovey dinner for two at the lost kitchen. Lovely pizza and pudding. Staff friendly and helpful. Lovely interior and decor. Only downside was being sat next to the slightly noisy bar and kitchen, when there were other tables free. Other than that very minor problem, all was fantastic. Would highly recommend a visit!

Service was fine but the pizza was not nice at all. Tasted like very poor quality meats and I couldn't help but feel sick whilst eating it. Chips undercooked and cold
