Lovely carvery. Very reasonably priced and generous portions. Friendly staff. Restaurant could do with a revamp but the food makes up for the decor.

The Longfield Inn, is on the Longfield Industrial Estate (West) at Derry City Airport. Upon arriving to the The Longfield Inn, Bar/Lounge is around the front, the Restaurant is around the back of the building with spacious car park spaces, and a disabled ramp. Upon landing the Longfield Inn, it looked great structure, kinda like a hidden away building. Walked round the back and entering the Doors with my Fiancèe, noticed a old fashioned Ticket booth area, now, dis-used by the looks of it. Wooden flooring adds to the old fashioned look of this place, i love it, the quirks of me. As we take a seat at the back beside the toilets, the exit is to our right. Not many people know this place is here. Dinky wee place but my goodness is it big on the inside! Wooden tables are marked around the hall, with booths by the window. Bar across the side, Waiters/waitressess are busy walking around with maybe 20 people in the room. We entered the fray, standing for an eternity, (or at least it seemed it) Not welcomed, we continued on in. Food service for the Starter was fairly quick, i expect the lady to get a winner's medal. As soon as we were sat down we were served, starter was Veg soup with a severely crusty roll, only moistened by the soup. Main course is pretty good/delicious. However, i didn like the way wanted certain items on the plate (eg. Spuds/Champ) the lady in the white top served us there and the Chef was very nice. A older lady asks ""mind if i lift these plates?" "Yes"" we said. There is a sense of lack of Hospitality, in a small sense, In this one. Dessert Our favourite time of the day! Hot choclate fudgecake with ice-cream for Boo, and Bannoffee Cake/Pie for me. Seems legit, (has raisins in bannoffee i think.) If the Bannoffee cake is meant to resusatate the humble pie, i dont think it will work. The pie / cake is covered in Toffee sauce, Hot (slightly warm / Cold) chocolate fudge cake is sort of disappointing as it is cold. Ice-Cream is covered in Toffee sauce, tasted more Toffee for a chocolate dessert! It seems likes its a First Sauce First Serve around here. Management!!! Read please. Male and Female toilets are needing Improvement. Il say, there is a list of things wrong, but il say nothing about it. Have a look inside! The country music in the background, is hear-able if your a fan, but i dont know many songs, im more modern music type of person. Facillities do not include a paypoint/Card machine in this area. It is CASH ONLY which is a bit understandable if you came in and looked at the Decor of the building and such.

Whilst traveling to Londonderry my wife and I noticed a sign for the Longfield Inn, so we decided to give it a try and see what it was like. It was set back in off the road which used to be the main road from Londonderry to Limavady (beside City of Derry Airport). The food was of high quality and very good size portions, the staff were very helpful and attentive. The restaurant is also disabled friendly, with good parking.
