We came across this restaurant whilst on a walk after visiting blackness castle. What a great find. We had 4 kids with us and they loved looking at all the interesting paintings and nautical artefacts. They enjoyed exploring outside too in the beer garden. Both adults had the haddock and it was delicious, tasted fresh and good portion size. Kids all enjoyed theirs too and yummy ice cream included in their meal price. Worth travelling for…we will be back 🙂

Had lunch here on 29th August 2024 - a table of 4. The restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. This was our first visit. General appearance and decor is very quirky and interesting - full of paraphenalia, art items, eccentric decorations and fun stuff! Certainly not boring! Tons of things to look at and very entertaining. The service was good. A lovely girl called Serra looked after us and she was friendly and helpful. The menu was excellent - lots of really good choices, all at very reasonable prices. Nothing seemed ridiculously priced - even the lobster dishes - in this day, something of a miracle! The food was absolutely delicious. Lentil soup; fish platter with Arbroath Smokie pate, prawn and langoustine marie rose, and hot smoked salmon, with chips, salad and bread; battered haddock and chips with peas. All really good. Desserts - the chocolate orange cheesecake with ice cream was excellent. Unfortunately, I didn't rate my apple pie. It had been heated up in the microwave and the pastry was soggy and horrid. The apple pie was the only part of our whole meal that was poor. Otherwise very good. We also drank the Blackness Spiced Rum that is distilled on the premises and it was excellent. It would have been better to have a shelf where we could buy the rum. We didn't buy any because it was not displayed very clearly and looked like the bottles were only 50cls? The shop was very tiny and not really a shop at all. So, overall, fantastic food; great service; great menu; nice place. The only negatives were the apple pie; and the lack of display for the rum. We'll definitely be back.

Family friendly bar, decorated with sea/ fish market theme. A number of tables to choose from, drinks came quickly and order taken within minutes. The food was nicely presented, Lobster and chips with garlic butter, chips hot, lobster was stringy and chewy so guessing over cooked, edible but wouldn't reorder in the future. The burger thoroughly cooked and ok, both had salad. Service by young, cheerful, keen staff, toilets very clean. Parking limited on site but available elsewhere in the village.

We don't come to Scotland often, but this must be our 4th visit to the Lobster Pot, and I realise that I've never reviewed it before, despite all visits being excellent! We love the quirkiness and decor of this pub. There's so much to look at and talk about - probably a good place for a first date 😄. But however good the decor, the food is even better. We've never had a bad meal, and this was the first time we've had the Lobster Thermidor. Delicious!! As was the seafood platter and scampi. Meals are huge, well cooked and served on the most beautiful plates. To top it off, the staff are lovely. The young waitresses were so polite and checked back to ensure everything was OK, and the lady I presume was the owner or landlady was also delightful and very professional. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Booked for lunch. When we arrived we were shown to a table in the middle of the dog side of the resturant. I asked the young girl attending to me if I could sit at an empty table nearer the perimeter of the dog side of resturant as I felt it would be quieter for my dog. An older lady butted in and was incredibly rude to me telling me we couldn't sit there. As we were eating a solo diner with their dog arrived and was seated at the table. Such a shame about the attitude as the food was lovely. Wont be back!

An amazing find. A lovely, quirky pub very much decorated in a nautical theme. We hadn’t booked and they were busy but they did find us a seat. All the staff were very friendly, professional and the service was excellent throughout. The food we had was delicious - generous portions, piping hot, fresh and really tasty. Absolutely loved the vibe in this pub and look forward to a return visit.

My mum and I and my dog were looking for somewhere that was dog friendly for dinner as we were staying in holiday accommodation nearby. The Lobster Pot stood out as having a great menu and being about the only nice restaurant that allowed dogs without having to sit outside. From the minute we stepped through the door we were made to feel extremely welcome. The restaurant had an eclectic mix of paintings and knickknacks which had us marvelling at the variety. It was truly an experience. The menu had a great selection to suit all tastes. We settled on the lentil soup and haggis fritters to start with. Both very tasty and good size portion without being too much. We then both had the seafood platter which was a fantastic selection including salmon, prawns, crayfish and Arbroath smokie pate along with salad and a perfect sized portion of chips. We felt the meal was very reasonably priced for the quality of the food and the superb service. Will return anytime we are in the neighbourhood to sample more of the menu. Doggie also loved her treat she got.
