On arrival we had a lovely warm friendly welcome. The food was absolutely lovely, well presented and really tasty..We can't wait to go back and try the Sunday roast. Well done all involved.

Lovely pub and good food but we had to wait over an hour, no one else seemed To be waiting this long... when we went in too ask we got quite alot of attitude and when I mentioned that they could just have come out to let us know it was going to be an hour and again I got more snotty attitude no one bothered to check if everthing was ok after that.

Brother and I had Lunch on 31st July, food is excellent, pub is absolutely fab, nice old world place, great venue, great garden, peaceful and a pleasure to be in, Landlady and Husband very welcoming.

Had a great first visit to the King’s Arms, Fraton. Great customer service, very accommodating and providing an excellent standard and variety of tasty food. A great public house environment with a relaxing friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be returning again soon.

Como habíamos estado allí antes de una comida y nos gustó, que puede elegir nuestra cena Navidad. La comida era excelente y bien vale la pena el costo. Primera vez que he estado en este restaurante y no volveré. Tenía un burger King Deluxe de queso que caliente, pero eso era lo único bueno de este lugar. Fue las mismas hamburguesas de chatarra que se dan en un barato van de carretera. Las patatas fritas eran también pobre. He mencionado al personal que estaba lejos de lujo pero había muy poco preocupación, más o menos un se encogió de hombros y qué se puede esperar. He estado yendo a la Kings Arms ocasionalmente durante un número de años. Es un pub encantador desde el exterior.Decidimos ir allí para el almuerzo y llegamos 12:45. No hay una buena oferta de los clientes pero el servicio en el bar era escaso. La persona que atendió nuestra orden no sabía qué tipo "lager" de los que ofrecen, no nos dieron el tiempo completo menú de almuerzo y cuando le pregunté si los Scampi era wholetail, no había nadie en la cocina para pedir. La experiencia nos hizo preocuparse por la comida.Sin embargo, la comida era buena y probado caseras y estaba caliente.Se nos volver, pero no estoy seguro.

Fuimos allí porque nos apetecía algunos pub, no ha estado aquí durante años pero siempre bien así que creí que merece la pena ver como es ahora. La comida era excelente, el entrante de cóctel de gambas tiene un pedazo de cálida Stick francés, que es agradable, así como muchos bares sirven una rebanada de pan de paquete. Los langostinos eran de un tamaño decente y la ensalada era crujiente y sabroso. Para las principales el bistec y pastel de Guiness tiene piezas de licitación de carne y una bonita shortcrust pastelería. La salsa también era delicioso. En general muy agradable, sin embargo nos fuimos temprano pero si hubiéramos estado más tarde nos habría sido objeto de dos despedidas de soltera y un alma noche, pero por suerte la izquierda antes estas empezó así que podría ser vale la pena comprobar si lo que quieres es una comida tranquila.

Fuimos a Walton on the Naze por la mañana y en el camino de vuelta a Colchester vimos este pub en el lado de la carretera del pueblo de Frating. Parecía atractivo, así que decidimos tomar la inmersión ya que tenía hambre. Nos alegramos ya que nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos, tuvimos un plato principal por £9.95 cada uno, desde el domingo menú. Mi esposa me fui para el cerdo asado con chisporroteante y tuve una hamburguesa de chili y patatas fritas. Ambos eran muy agradables, y el asado estaba fresco y sabroso y el servicio fue bastante rápido para el almuerzo. Nos sentamos en el jardín, el cual tiene facilidades para niños, y había un amplio aparcamiento. Dos campos y dos bebidas desde el domingo menú vinieron a £25.00 . El registro no es el más barato, pero merece la pena pagar por como estaba todo bien y sabroso. Tienen la opción de este menú de 2 platos por £12.95 o 3 por un poco más, la próxima vez que probablemente se vaya a más. Muy recomendable

Comimos aquí con amigos en una de las noches de banda. La comida estaba recién preparado y bien presentado, con la cantidad justa de tiempo entre los platos. Había una buena variedad de comidas para elegir en el menú, así como algunas especialidades que son parte de la junta en el bar.Este pub es conocido por sus noches de música y hemos estado en un gran número de ellos en el pasado y tenía una comida previamente. No hay cargo para entrar en una noche de banda y se convierte en una noche agradable con una comida primero.Estoy deseando volver a su fin de semana de música durante el día feriado este mes.Si vas en una banda noche y quieres comer, asegúrate de reservar una mesa, ya que se puede llenar.

I am really pleased to see this pub back open after a short closure. The new couple are keeping a good pub & you get a good pint here. also has been redecorated. good to have the only high street pub open again :)

Good pub food and wide variety of drinks. Great atmosphere and very spacious seating area near the bar area. Huge beer garden which has a permanent shelter covering most of the area which is ideal for smokers in winter!Very family-friendly although not so much of an evening, particularly of a weekend.Menu doesn't seem to change that much but consistent food you know you're always going to get a decent meal, pretty good value, cannot recommend their club sandwich enough..!A bit touch and go on the staff, sometimes served by someone who is amazingly friendly and gives great service, other times have got a grumpy waiter/waitress who does as little as acceptable but must admit the people they put on the bar are generally the good'uns!Fantastic place to catch up with friends and relax, can easily spend an entire afternoon and evening here.

We've lived in Colchester for 3 years now but have never visited this pub, until today.It had a great choice of bar snacks, table meals and a good specials menu, the staff were very friendly and the service was excellent, we only called in after a shopping expo but will definitely go back and spend a little more time in there, the sooner the better!

Small isolated restaurant could either eat in bar or separate dining area. Choose the bar sat close to the fire. ordered food asked for soup and got chicken and mushroom. was warm very thick like a stew. The main course was good and home cooked which is what you want when visiting a series of hotel/pubs in just over a week of travelling. Local pub staff attentive but not too much.

We have visited this pub for meals on several occassions and always been pleased with the quality of food and price.However my family has organised a suprise meal for my 50th birthday.The standard of food was good although the beef for the roast a bit tough.The atmosphere was ruined though. There was thee members who could not attend on the day due to personal reasons. We were made to pay for those 3 meals which I have never come across before. There was 16 of us on the day which is alot of money that was spent with the meals and drinks.The waitresses were not very cheerful either.Very disappointed with this and we will not be returning, Not good customer service.

I have no problems with the food as was nice for pub grub.. Staff not very chatty but worked well. The problem i have is to be MADE TO PAY AND HAVE SERVED three meals that were cancelled an hour before we started.. We had a party of 19 booked for a two course meal at a cost of £16 a head and one childs £11.. Good value i must agree.. Three people droped out because of personal matters and believe me, In no way could they attend..But to be made to pay for them is beyond belief.. It dont take much working out how much the final bill was and on top of that 16 people drinking for at least 2 hours. If it was not for a special supprise birthday party I think we would have walked..There is no mention on their web site that i could see about any cancelled food.. Thought i should share with you all.. And i hasten to add,we are not going back....John

This was our second visit to this pub/restaurant,our last was about two years ago,and we were not impressed,passing by on a Sunday afternoon,decided to give it another try.Very poor standard of food,wife had chicken breast in pepper sauce,very tough,tasteless,I had seafood cocktail,followed by roast beef,was OK but of pure standard,on a rating 1 to 10 would be lucky to get a 3.The Toby Carvery at Clacton (which was full to the brim) would normally get a 9,and it was more money,will NOT RETURN.Waitress was as miserable as sin,which is a real put off.

Basically, your average town centre pub but quite good. Food is reasonable but service an be a bit hit and miss if they're busy. Had issues with them asking a friend to leave because she had an 18 month old child with her! We were furious but they wouldn't budge on the issue! Other pubs allow children inside if you're going to eat? Won't be going again because of this.

The staff were very polite here, the bar staff especially. Food was fantastic, great value for money! Will be coming back!!

I am not generally a moaner, but feel I really must warn others about The Kings Arms, Frating. Our evening here was the worst experience possible. The staff were rude, the food was a joke - the service was altogether terrible. We asked if the lasagne was beef - staff did not know, asked whether the scampi was wholetail and waiter said he'd never heard of wholetail scampi before. Against our better judgement we thought we'd still give it a try. Our food came out wrong and when we asked for it to be corrected we were told "chef says just leave what you dont want". The pub is dated, dirty and dingy - the ladies toilet has a vending machine selling 20" inflatable penis' awkward when my daughter wanted to know what it was but luckily we didn't go into the mens as others in our party did, this vending machine had vibrators!! This place makes Fawlty Towers look like a 5* Establishment - eat here if you dare!!
