Wow. Amazing food, really good service. The restaurant has a very welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely be returning.

Wonderful food with wonderful service. Found this little gem whilst visiting Dorchester via TripAdvisor. Hadn't booked but we were made ro feel so welcome. Food was delicious, Highly recommended

We really loved the look of the menu with great selection of dishes and good amount of vegetarian and vegan options. The local beer we got was also excellent and we were enjoying the vibe of the restaurant. Unfortunately , the food is very average and left us hugely disappointed . We had ordered a vegetarian selection for starters and for £6.50 each we thought we will get a good array of starters to try. Unfortunately the selection was small and it was so mediocre, with just a few fried tempera , two stodgy cakes and 2 small money bags- £12.50!!. The deep fried dishes seemed to have been fried in oil that had been reused many times that night. We got the green thai for main and cashew stir fry and the stir fry in particular tasted very strong with a pungent flavour. We didn't finish our dishes and left the restaurant hurriedly as it was clear the waiters were not interested to check if we enjoyed the meal .We eat Thai food regularly, this place does not seem authentic or fresh. Not at all good value for money.

This is certainly a must visit restaurant if you love your Thai. Newly converted to this food and it's a great place to explore these dishes. Great service, lovely food and easy access for those who drive. They have a good selection of wine. One, albeit simple highlight, the Spring Rolls... amazing!

Excellent food, friendly service. We had the vegetarian banquet and the banquet with duck,chicken and prawn; every dish was delicious. We cleared every plate. Red Thai curry was voted fantastic.

Delicious food and great service. Probably one of the best Thai meals we’ve had. Would recommend one of the sharing banquets. Great value for money, loads to eat and absolutely fantastic. Busy too on a Wednesday evening which has got to be a good sign! We will be back!

We love this restaurant and travel from Bridport to enjoy the ambience and delicious hot, sweet, sour flavours. Everything is cooked fresh and the family that run the restaurant are charming. We were originally taken by a friend whose wife is Thai. We all shared the Kings Mixed Starter then went our separate ways with Gaeng Keaw Wann (Thai Green Curry) one with Chicken and one with Tofu, Labb Roast Duck and Ped Pad Plet Sapparod (another Duck dish) all with Steamed Rice. Everything was delicious and service quick and friendly. In the early evening you can park for free on the side of the road close by.

Spotlessly clean with nice atmosphere. Very friendly people. Ordered massaman lamb curry, was very dry and a bit chewy. My son was under whelmed and left most of his red curry. The worse was being over charged! 2 small glasses apple juice and a ginger cordial £15 ! Won’t be going again

Rather average side street Thai restaurant. Cafe style interior so we opted for takeaway. Starter for 2 were not generous (one 1/4 piece of prawn toast each!) came with tiny pots of plum sauce and satay sauce. Small portions and although we opted for the more fragrant red curry very mild. Just not memorable but still over £50 for starters for 2, 2 mains and one noodles. Won't bother again.

Charming little authentic Thai restaurant in a leafy side street off the centre of town. Excellent food, good service, spotlessly clean, airy premises. Very good menu, decent range of vegetarian options. Recommended!

We had a meal here a couple of weekends ago whilst visiting Dorchester. The food was amazing - we got the Anna Banquet starter which was huge and delicious. Our main courses were also lovely and the staff were confident in recommending us dishes based on what we liked. The portions were so generous that we couldn't fit pudding in! All in all, really recommend :)

Eating here every time we come to Dorchester (unfortunately mostly for work). Best Thai food I've ever had in the UK. Great quality, fair prices and lovely people.

I can't fault this restaurant! The service was wonderful, the food was delicious (I had vegetables spring rolls and tofu green curry), the restaurant was clean and pleasant, and the lunchtime special of three courses for £15.99 is fantastic value for money. I'm looking forward to going back soon.

Called in for lunch. Greeted by extremely polite and friendly waitress. Good value lunch. Very high quality ingredients, superbly cooked. Delicious. Lovely restaurant with great ambiance and a classy, homely modern feel. Perfect.

A lovely family run restaurant. On our latest visit, the restaurant was very busy and we expected that we would have a longer than usual wait but that was not the case. The owners make a very friendly and very efficient front of house team, we were able to place our orders as soon as we had decided and didn't have to wait ages for our meals to arrive. We all had 2 courses and each course came out together, was lovely and hot and everything was beautifully presented. It was also excellent value for money. Other restaurants could learn a lot from this wonderful place. In short we had a delicious meal with fantastic service, thank you so much.

I’ve been to this establishment twice now. I am new to the area and decided to search for a local Thai near me, I stumbled across The King Thai and I am glad with the decision I made. The service was very good, and the restaurant was immaculately clean. There is a good choice of local drinks on the menu as well as good food options - not a huge amount on the menu however to my mind this is a good sign that everything is cooked fresh I must also add they do not cook with any MSG or preservatives. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wether you are looking for a quick lunch or an evening meal. Will definitely be a regular customer here now.

Excellent food. The lunch menu is great value with a good number of choices. Evening menu is more expensive of course, but with a more extensive menu.

Love love love this restaurant. Thai food was excellently cooked. Friendly service and very well priced. We had a set menu with a really good variety of Thai cuisine. Will go back again many times.

Great food and service, prices reasonable

Wasn't impressed with food at all. Very disappointing birthday meal for my partner. Very greasy and bland, had about 3 prawns in my pad Thai, tempura prawns tasted like something you'd buy from Icelands. Satay sauce swimming in oil and tasted funny. Feel abit robbed for 35 quid.

An excellent Thai restaurant in Dorchester, the food menu was varied with plenty of choice and when the food arrived it was very very tasty and hot. The service was spot on. The drinks menu had a good choice of wines, lgers and cider. This was our 4th visit since moving to the area and would highly recomend a visit. Booking in advance is recommended.

We came across this popular restaurant by accident. They managed to fit us in but they were very busy. The food and service were excellent. We will go again but next time we will book a table.

The service was wonderful, both of the front of house staff were so polite and nothing was a problem for them. When the food came, especially my main, I wolfed it down as it was so delicious. We had booked in advance for a Saturday evening but there was still empty seats, sadly for the business. I don't leave tips at restaurants but did for this place. A wonderful little gem. People are missing out if they choose to eat at one of the nearby chain establishments in this town. Thank you once again for your great service and excellent food

One of the best places I’ve eaten Thai food in the UK! It’s a must if you’re a fan of Thai cuisine. The Massaman curry, Pad Thai and coconut ice cream the highlights of the meal.

Food was lovely but I only received half a portion of rice and the Thai spicy crackers were just Chinese prawn crackers

Absolutely amazing. Just have had a family dinner of three of us. The food was probably the best Thai dishes we've ever had. We had seafood and vegetarian, but there are plenty others here to choose from. Attentive and friendly staff, service. A hidden gem. As luckily we live in the area, definitely will be back. This was a surprisingly wonderful meal. Dorchester is the last place that I thought we’d find a fabulous Thai restaurant. Fresh, flavourful, perfect portion size to cost, beautiful staff who take pride in the food. Such a gem. My son and I will definitely return soon. Superb evening

A really nice lunchtime meal excellent value great service . Amazed that there were only two others in. It must be a well hidden gem which is a shame for the people missing out .

Had a quick lunch, very small portion, still hungry and we’re no big eaters. They probably want you to take starter and dessert... Taste of sauces was ok, although very salty. Had some tofu, which looked different from other places and tasted bad. Think they over-fried it or it was too old.

Lovely atmosphere and beautifully clean restaurant! The service was impeccable - but the food! Freshly cooked and bursting with taste and subtle flavours. Served very hot - just how I like it; and good sized portions. Huge prawns, fresh pork and chicken - no preformed meat. The handmade coconut ice cream is a real treat and not too sweet. It really is a wonderful experience, you are not rushed eating the food and we cant wait to go back!
