The Imperial Hotel in Conwy

Location is nice, the hotel itself is nice, although the rooms are extremely dated and not the cleanest. The bed was so uncomfortable and there were still signs of dirt in the bathroom (a dirty scrunched up toilet roll on the floor, hair in the bath). The staff were nice and breakfast in the morning too. We had room 215 and had sea view.

Just spent 4 nights at the Imperial Hotel, it was the best hotel we have ever stayed at,from booking in to leaving 5 days later, we had a amazing time, the room was large and spotlessly clean, the food was excellent, and all the staff were so friendly and helpful, we are hoping to return in September, thank you everyone at the Imperial. Xxxxx

Had a pleasant stay here and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had everything you need. But it needs updating, the tvs are very small and old and the gym is awful. Weird mix of different weights that look like someone's home gym with the heaviest only 15kg. The machines also don't show the weight just numbers 1 to 10 which isn't helpful.

A hotel genuinely befitting the grading of four stars. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful. The room I had was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The balcony was a fabulous bonus and I loved the views of the sea and the surrounding countryside. Lots of nice little touches such as complimentary sewing kit, shower cap, shoe mitt and slippers. Some furniture and fixtures could do with refurbishment. The swimming pool has seen better days but I still enjoyed having the use of it. The catering provided for the conference I attended was good. I found the vegetarian options in the restaurant a little lacking though. They have yet to embrace plant-based meat! But overall a very nice two night stay and a great venue for a conference, right by the beach. Parking on site is free but spaces are very limited. Parking on the seafront is charged from 10am to 4pm.

Nice place to stay in Llandudno. The Imperial Hotel is a 4 star hotel, and they are well earned. The room I was in was a decent size and had a small balcony with a table and chairs where you could sit and watch the Bay towards the pier. The room itself had a king size bed, plenty of draw space, bedside draws each side of the bed, four pillows, kettle and tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. A nice touch was the decaf as well as non-decaf. The wardrobe was a bit small. It was fine for a couple of days but not suitable if you stay a week. There was a raised area containing a table, 2 chairs, and a mini fridge. The bathroom had all the usual goodies, plus a shower over the bath. The meals were lovely, and there is a full length conservatory where you can sit with food or drink and watch the world go by. All that, plus a gym, sauna, and large swimming pool in the basement which is free for residents, and has no children early morning or evening. Nearly forgot, all the staff are excellent too. Friendly and efficient reception, dining room, bar room, and cleaning staff, and the room are cleaned and refreshed every day.

My parents spent their 50th wedding anniversary here in December last year. On the actual day my father was very sick, having only eating smoked haddock from the restaurant for breakfast. This totally ruined their anniversary and evening meal, with surprise champagne, which he could not attend. Having spoken to my mum on the day, who was stressed and had called an ambulance, I contacted the hotel myself to complain. My parents would not have wanted to make a fuss but I felt the hotel should understand how much this had ruined their stay. I stressed repeatedly that I did not want my parents informed that I had contacted them. However they made my parents fill out forms and told them that because I had called to complain that they had to make a full investigation! Having been assured that I would be re- contacted and having told my parents that they would hear the outcome on due course, they did nothing. None of us heard anything again. Truly awful. Not only did they ruin my parents golden wedding anniversary, they needlessly upset them further against my wishes and then offered no compensation at all. I'm afraid this is not a hotel I could recommend to anyone.

Staff very accommodating, welcoming and helpful. Room good size, comfortable and clean. Food absolutely delicious. I cannot fault my experience of staying here at all and will come again.

Only stopped over night, but I was impressed with this 'old fashioned' type hotel with all it's charm. A true reflection of Llandudno itself. The food was excellent, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff friendly and helpful, will be visiting again. The room was large, with a fantastic bathroom.

I would highly recommend not booking with this hotel!! Due to my birthday being totally ruined! My best friend booked a room on my birthday to celebrate it together as my present. I was travelling by train from Darlington on Friday 24th January which is my birthday. My train was cancelled due to the red alert warning due to the storm so this was totally out of my control. My best friend explained the situation to the receptionist to reschedule the booking. The receptionist was not helpful at all! My best friend did not receive any refund!! Time is so precious. We can’t get that time back. All we needed was understanding and empathy due to the exceptional circumstances!

My wife and I went to The Imperial for my wife's birthday. We chose The Imperial as it has the best wheelchair access outside a purpose built Premier Inn (and we didn't want to stay in such a soulless place). From the moment we arrived at the door (which we were offered assitance with) to the moment we left we were treated as if we were the only guests. Every menber of staff was helpful, jovial, and just a pleasure. I don't think that we could have had a better time if we were the owners doing an inspection tour. The location (just a few minutes from the train station) is probably the best in town. The room that we had (sea view corner room) was perfect for our needs. Easy wheelchair access, plenty of room, and wonderfully appointed. I think its the biggest bed I've ever slept in. The housekeeping staff (I only interacted with one, she was making sure everything was to our liking) were whisper quiet and did a great job. The food that we had was exemplary. Large portions cooked to perfection. If I had to give negative note at all it would be that the dressing on the Caeser salad could be improved. This is the only negative that I can think of for our time in The Imperial. All of the staff were beyond excellent. Special thanks must be given to Charlotte on the reception, Rhian, Barry, and Bernice that were on table service, George, and Cian on the bar service. These people made our stay better than I could have hoped for. The cost of the stay was incredibly reasonable. Are there cheaper hotels in Llandudno? Yes. There are also more expensive ones. But I do not think that you could get the level of comfort, service, or quality anywhere else. Whe we choose to return to Llandudno, as we inevitably will, I can think of nowhere else that I would rather stay than this hotel.

Excellent lunchtime meal 22nd January. The food was brilliant and the staff were welcoming. Lovely and warm with a great view out to sea. The price was good to.

A fabulous , old world hotel, with great people to look after you , great food , great en suite rooms, view of the sea , a d walking distance to all the shops and sights of llandudno . Treated brilliantly , loved the gym, pool and steam room Look forward to going back Xx

My family party of 13 stayed for a 4 night break over the New Year, we have done this for the past 7 years. As per usual perfect, including the food. A well managed clean hotel with excellent polite staff. The New Years Eve reception went down very well with all. A big thank you to all the staff.

One of the best Hotels in Llandudno

My Parents have just got back from a 3 night stay, both 86.The room was very clean and the food was excellent , a very big thank you to James and Simon , the to first aiders that attended to my dad after an incident in the swimming pool, and also for the reception staff and Tony who got a shower chair for my mum, this is their 7th year staying here and hopefully will be back next year .

Just had a lunch here. Not for the first time as it's a nice place. We just had sandwiches which came with side salad coleslaw and a few crisps. Nicely presented and delicious. We have made this hotel our place for lunch when having a few hours in Llandudno. Well decorated and clean. In a prime spot on the promenade. I love pleasant surrounding. The staff are very polite and efficient. Prices are very reasonable. We'll be having two or three nights before long for sure.

A last minute booking and wasn't disappointed. Excellent location, On the corner of the promenade, free parking from 6 p.m. to 9a.m. +90 minutes. A well equipped gym, a swimming pool, basic sauna, steam room, a great buffet breakfast makes it a great accomodation. Would stay here again

Front facing superior double room was excellent although perhaps a little dated. Bathroom was large and clean and the views from the 3 large windows were fantastic. . Buffet style breakfast was excellent, service good. . A swimming pool enjoyable. .

Great Staff, excellent food better than you may expect!

We were extremely surprised at how nice the hotel is. Yes, it's slightly chintzy, yes it could do with a bit of a touch up here and there with paint. But overall a really good hotel, great size room (522), balcony with a lovely view, clean and extra pillows. Amazing gym and a good size pool. Bar area had a nice relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely stay again.
