Absolutely love the food here, the staff are so friendly and accommodating, never made to feel unwelcome. Lovely atmosphere and bloody great food, I really don't have a bad word to say about this place. But please book just in case as it gets busy. Good Gluten Free & Vegan menu too.

All I can say is this was my first time at the Hollybush and I had the Christmas dinner and wow was it worth every penny. Whoever the cook is they need a pay rise

Popped in today for food. first time visiting the Holly bush nice, friendly welcome.on arrival. I had the Holly bush burger sausage pulled pork in barbecue sauce cheese with chips and a side salad burger. was good quality nice sausage and pulled pork was really nice plenty of barbecue sauce well presented and hot my partner had chicken tika curry rice and chips said her curry was nice good porshans on both meals really enjoyed will be going back price's for quality of food is good

I've visited many times and never disappointed with the meal. Never had a bad meal and leave looking forward to my next visit. Today was a Christmas meal to celebrate my sisters birthday and it was excellent from start to finish. If you're thinking of visiting do it as you won't be disappointed.

The food is amazing here. Prices are reasonable, and the meals are fresh and plentiful. Homemade dishes and homemade desserts with so many choices. Staff are attentive and very friendly.

Such a lovely quaint pub. The staff are all welcoming and so friendly. We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary on Monday party of 8 and the food was amazing. Good portion sizes, good choices on the menu with decent prices to fit all budgets. The staff are really lovely, took care of us nothing was too trouble for them. We definitely be returning.

Haven't had food here for a while but wow I've missed out. Let me start with the service. Each and every member of staff were amazing I can't praise them enough. The food was outstanding, perfectly cooked, hot, fresh and plentiful. Amazing atmosphere and well worth the money. Be back soon, very soon.

Large portions great value for money.

Called in as we were running late getting home and they slide us into a table for two which wasn't booked until later in the evening, the chilli and rice was good , my wife's rump steak was even better. Will call in again and book this time. Great staff waiting tables, great customer service and managed our expectations from the start.

Nice enough but dogs only welcome in bar where there's only 3 tables. Only one ale on. Railway down the road is much better.

We take a friend to the hollybush for lunch he has very poor sight so he needs to have no obstruction. Hollybush always accommodate us. Food and service excellent 👌

Had Sunday dinner here today,the staff were very friendly the food was great the prices were cheap, a great experience would come back any day. Thank you for a good experience.

Last night 16 of us were booked into the Bush for a meal and we were placed in the new marquee and had a great time. The owners had put in a patio heater for warmth and even supplied blankets for more comfort. During the meal the rain poured down but we stayed warm and dry. As always the food and service were great.

Went here for my birthday on the 21st January. Everything was amazing from the staff to the food

Really lovely place, friendly staff and great atmosphere. Food was excellent, the onion rings felt really fresh - not frozen. Vegan lasagne was amazing. Decent anount of vegan/vegetarian/gf options to choose from. Portion sizes are quite generous, so make sure you're hungry! Looking forward to going back when I'm next down in the area.

Lovely pub just around the corner from where I live. Met here for a meeting and it was lovely. Will be going back to try the food.

We didn't have food, but enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and pleasant service. We popped in during our walk through Llanfabon over the mountain and found this place on our map onroute. We headed off to Quakers Yard and finally returning back to Pontypridd. We'll worth a visit

Just finished food there after getting 7 of us booked in at short notice on a Saturday evening, lovely big massive portions, chips are amazing, chatty, welcoming & helpful staff, great atmosphere, footie on sky, dog friendly & the kids were happy. Try the peanut butter stack & ice cream, snickers ice cream in disguise, bloody lovely. P.s who needs Gas 😉

Avoid this pub at all costs! Landlord, a total billigerant individual. He was sarcastic and as welcoming as a wasp down your shorts. He decided to turn off the TV on a whim, when customers were watching the Wrexham and Grimsby playoffs, just as the game was going into extra time to put on his 'alexa' music. When other customers and myself asked politely, if he would allow us to watch the end of the match., he refused! We were told ' don't ask'. The food was good ( but even Michelin star cuisine would not tempt me back there again) and the bar help, Jemma, was polite and friendly... The landlord, himself, was rude and impolite, he made the character Basil Fawlty look like the perfect host! In star rating, I give the Holly Bush, Nelson, Caerphilly minus - 5 stars 😞😠

We had take away Sunday lunch today absolutely amazing

5 adults & my grandson went here recently on an imprompu visit.....we hadn't planned to have a meal so hadnt pre booked but the Staff were very friendly & welcoming & went above and beyond to arrange a table for us.....the dining area was comfortable, quaint, spotlessly clean & decorated to a high standard.. There was a small menu to choose from but Our Main Meals were piping hot, arrived quickly & were reasonably priced.. Small free carpark also.....We will definitely visit again.....

Disappointing Mother’s Day lunch. Food was just warm and roasties seemed like they were cooked yesterday and warmed through. Poor service and then asked to move halfway through dessert as we had been seated at the wrong table. In the end the party coming in had not even arrived so we felt turfed out for no reason. Had a lovely lunch previously but sadly won’t return again.

This is a real local. Wonderful spirit and welcome. Hadn't be there for some 54 years. The place is transformed. Good range of food and drinks at reasonable prices and with good portions. The hosts know how to run this business. Well organised. Highly recommended if you like getting the feel of the local community. Very popular and well supported by the locals.

Have been here three or four times by now and never failed to have a thoroughly good meal. Usually go around 2pm mark and the place still cooking meals for anyone who orders despite it being a normally quiet period.. 100% will go again. Prices are very competitive and there's a decent selection of drinks available. They can cater for larger groups on joined tables.. Maybe up to 20 people

Hadn't been since before the pandemic, not sure if there's new owners but I loved this last trip there. Food was so tasty, creamy mushrooms are unbelievably good. Such good value too.

Went for a meal at the Hollybush in Nelson 3 times the week leading up to Christmas. Excellent food each time, one of which was a Christmas dinner. Service of food and bar were first class each time. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Looking forward to going again soon. Highly recommended
