Gorgeous setting, impeccable service, and tasty locally sourced food. I had spotted the Hidden Chapel when looking for lunch spots and found myself really drawn to the venue. It didn’t disappoint. I would love to go in an evening sometime to lap up the atmosphere especially as I spotted they sometimes have live music.

Such a unique restaurant. The cozy chapel was a perfect Sunday lunch spot with a young man playing the keyboard. This was one of the best Sunday lunches we have had in a long time. I had the roast chicken with veg and potatoes- everything was so fresh and the chicken was tender. We drove from Chester and would definitely return to have lunch here. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

When I got on vacation I like to eat at unique restaurants… places I likely couldn’t eat back home in America … and if they have good food that’s even better. This place ticked both marks. And had great service ! I loved eating in this old church - it was Beautiful. You can’t ask for better vibes. And the food was delicious - not a single thing we didn’t enjoy. And honestly not even expensive considering the quality of food and location. We got two main entrees, three drinks, two appetizers, and two desserts. It was less than 100 pounds total. Absolutely recommend you stop by here and have a bite. It was lovely.

Lovely atmospheric restaurant with so many original chapel features including the beautiful organ makes this somewhere interesting & different. Food was excellent, very tasty. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly. My gluten free diet was not a problem with most dishes adaptable to accommodate & the staff keen to help with my choices. There is also a very pleasant seating area outside. And the setting; well it’s hidden so an oasis of calm, close to but away from the noise of the high street.

Service very slow, 2 ladies waiting but kitchen very slow sending food out. Portion size is small. Menu sounds great but in reality food was not great. Had shin beef thingy that sounded fantastic but it was basically a small cottage pie lol and cost £26 for the pleasure lol. Also had the pork, again sounded great on menu, very small portion size and undercooked(pork had blood in it on a couple of pieces) so did not eat it all that was £25.We did not stay for desert as disappointed with main and time taking to make food. Very expensive, they try to make menu and food look like Michelin star chefs . Over all food was tasty, just small size portions and very expensive for what you get. Bill was 70 quid for 2 mains a bottle of beer and a glass of red wine.

The welcome was great. Very professional, polite and efficient staff. The ambiance within the chapel is perfect for evening dining, our drinks order was taken pretty much straight away and plenty of time given to choose our meals. The drinks menu was extensive and the wine very good. The food arrived in good time and was well presented and delicious. Obviously, a lot of attention has been given to the ingredients and the preparation of the food; this was evident in all three courses. A broad variety of different ingredients and innovative techniques used meant we really enjoyed our food. The live jazz was a bonus, I'm more of a blues guy myself but I appreciate live music wherever it's played. Overall, a very pleasant experience and well done to everyone who contributed to the evening, we will definitely be back and would have no reservation in recommending you to our friends.

I had friends visiting from Manchester, and we stumbled across the Hidden Chapel for an impromptu lunch. The converted Chapel is beautifully decorated and has a mezzanine floor. There is an outside section too for warmer days. I had a tasty chicken caesar salad, and my friends had the steak sandwich and beef shin pie, all which were very much enjoyed. I look forward to coming again to this quirky and special restaurant again in the evening time.

I booked my mum and I a table here for our last night of our break in Conwy, and had really high hopes for this after reading reviews and seeing how quirky the place is. We booked at 5:30 on a Wednesday and there was only us and one other couple for the duration. Obviously they have kept a lot of the original church features which gives a really unique feel to the place (you sit on church pews which aren't the most comfy things to eat from). We both left with mixed feelings about the food. We both had the roast cod which had really minimal veg with it (about 2 potatoes and a couple of chopped tomatoes) and the pear crumble was mainly oats with chunks of pear and some 'fermented' cherries (I wasn't a fan as it completely overpowered the pear). I understand they are aiming for fine dining and expected somewhat small portions, but at £61 for 2 mains, 2 desserts and 1 drink, we came away feeling ripped off and a bit underwhelmed. I think the main draw to the restaurant is the place itself. The staff/service was great, but is it value for money? Absolutely not.

Very delicious food and lovely ambience. We shared the scallop starter. I had roast curried swede with kale for main. My companions had chicken and haddock respectively. We thought all the meals were excellent. For dessert we shared the forced rhubarb cheesecake and the chocolate soup. These were very nice indeed and not overwhelming portions. Probably nearly £50 per head with drinks on top, but that is about what it costs to eat out now. A really great birthday experience. If I have a negative comment it is that they take last orders at 7.45pm we like to eat late, but I do except many people do not. If it makes it easier to employ good chefs I am happy with eating at 7.30pm

Four of us in for lunch - wet weekday in the run up to Easter. Charming space, Chapel conversion obviously, which has been spared no expense or detail in its new role. It looks like the small plates concept had now been replaced with a more traditional a la carte offering. All dishes were spot on! Because we were in a tapas mindset walking in only one of us had a larger plate with others sharing an assortment of starter dishes, and really wonderful desserts. Friendly and efficient service. Very reasonable pricing, especially the wine list. Nice to see! Looks like they have the facility for some limited outdoor dining but the interior is very much part of the experience. A "must do" if you're seeking fine dining experience in Conwy.

The Hidden Chapel Conwy AMAZING refurbishment of an old Welsh chapel in Conwy into a bar/restaurant (only opened last summer) and boutique B&B Gwynfryn B&B Conwy accommodation within the Chapel House & Vestry just off the main high street. The attention to detail in the decor and the mix of choices is so impressive, antique, eclectic, vintage and modern. Offering a variety of experiences such as parties, afternoon teas, and a small plates menu. It's also convenient that it's just minutes away from the railway station. It was spotless everywhere including a sneaky peak into the kitchen. Oh and check out the old fashioned but fully working toilets. We tried 3 small plates, crispy lamb belly, ratatouille kale salsa verde 👍, baked hake, salsify & shallots kale hazelnuts 👍, beef brisket, buttered mash, cauliflower and carrot salad 👍the baked ginger custard, forced rhubarb sweet oats dessert and a small cheese platter (which we forgot to photo). All local produce and have to say compliments to the chef for their menu with unusual but tasty mix of blends and nice to see some different desserts other than the usual ones. Would give 11/10 review just for the refurbishment but yes 5/5 restaurant review yesterday for our lunch. Highly recommend you visit, currently open Thursday Friday Saturday all day for drinks and snacks from the bar and 12-2 and 5:30-8 for small plates menu.

Beautiful building and lovely and cosy inside but I have to say we found the food very underwhelming. Sorry, but turkey dinner was a bit naff. Roasties and parsnips were anaemic, had a few sprouts and bit of red cabbage. Not sure if there was stuffing but not a carrot in sight...unusual for Christmas dinner. Christmas pudding was tasty though. Was quiet when we went. We were looking forward to it but sadly felt a bit disappointed.

He had arranged champagne on arrival which was delicious! I had no idea where we were going, but living only an hour away it was a brilliant little surprise. 9th December 2023 while enjoying our stay at the Gwynfryn Hotel in Conwy we ordered a meal inside the Hidden Chapel and were not disappointed. Decked out for Xmas the Chapel was cosy and welcoming and included a well stocked bar. The staff were delightful, well mannered and efficient. The first course was a rather delicious Leek and Potato Soup served with Brown Bread. Followed by a sumptuous main course of Roast Turkey, Pig in Blanket, Roast Potatoes, Parsnips, Sprouts, Braised Red Cabbage & Gravy. The dessert was an extremely tasty Christmas Pudding with Brandy Sauce. One of our party had an allergy to gluten but was skilfully catered for, with her entire meal being completely gluten free, extremely tasty and with no allergy worries. Yes I would certainly recommend a stay at Gwynfryn and a meal in the Hidden Chapel. I shall be taking my own good advice to plan a return future visit.

Wonderful experience. One of the few places where the food matches the ambience. Never been before but ordered all the small plates at the same time but that was OUR mistake. Consequently, by the time we got to the 5th plate is was cooler than it should have been, but now we now know how it works we will order a ''starter'' next time we visit. Only complaint was the lack of particular drinks but I'm certain when it becomes more established that that will change. Decor was fabulous with exquisite Christmas decorations. Being an Old Chapel it had a truly magical festive feeling. See you again hopefully, next month.

What a delightful evening. Lovely building and inside was done very well, retaining the original Chapel feel and furniture. The seating was spacious and generous. The drinks menu and wine list had a nice choice at sensible prices. The concept of small plates (not tapas) is my favourite offering. It means that you can have a nice selection and variety of tastes. As for taste.... all the dishes were superb, and the accompanying garnishes equally impressive. For the quality of food, I thought it was good value. Go and enjoy, relax, share with friends.

What a fabulous gem of a place. Tucked away up a little side road is the Gwynfryn B&B. Attached is the Hidden Chapel restaurant. Plenty of seating, both pews up to tables, and comfy sofas with squishy cushions. The menu consists of "small plates", and changes every few months depending on what ingredients are in season. Beautifully presented and everything we've had to eat has been delicious. It's a great idea as the starter size portions mean you can eat 3 or 4 plates and not be over full. Genuis!! Would definitely recommend.

I can't remember how I'd heard about Hidden Chapel but did some research and thought it might be great for what I was after. Four friends and myself wanted somewhere " grown up" for adults only with a little class and sophistication. Elegant surroundings and attention to detail on the food and wines available. Yes indeed , it was ! There was no " hard sell" by the staff when we got there ,we were allowed time to peruse the menu and chat a while. 6 elegantly presented small plates were chosen and each one delivered on taste and a gastronomic vision ! There was then a sumptuous cheese board and another desert . All small enough to enjoy the flavours but not too much to make you feel like you'd overinuldged . Beautiful , creative refurbishment of the chapel with the offer of larger tables for bigger parties or some very intimate small spaces for those on "Date night" ! We will definitely be returning and am looking forward to another fresh menu for our Christmas night out ! Fabulous Samantha
