THE HEATON in Stockport

Arrived with my parents for a late lunch. We all ordered from the lunch menu, 2 courses or 3 course option. This menu is also really good value. The food was all hot, fresh and delicious. We were served promptly and nothing was too much trouble. There wasn't much atmosphere as the pub was quiet but this is probably different at other times of the day.

I like to meet up here for early evening drinks with my son and his friends. The staff are always warm and welcoming, as are the customers who I've met in there. There's a nice atmosphere, not too noisy, but far from dead, and lovely food to boot. I highly recommend a visit

Just called in by chance and glad we did , sat outside and both had ciabatta with chips / salad and coleslaw. Mine was goats cheese and red pepper and the other was steak all for just over £20 , would recommend and will return

Excellent venue for lunch out with friends. Fantastic food and a good selection of beers and lagers. Not visited before, however this will not be our last visit.

First visit today. Had the 2 course lunch special. Very good value, and decent food, particularly the fresh vegetables and mashed potatoes!! Great choice of dishes. Well worth a visit

The Rotary Club of Stockport Lamplighter had a fabulous lunch at the pub for the President's annual meal today. Thank you to Roy and the staff for looking after us so well.

Came here for a random pub lunch. Large car park around the back. Inside was very well presented and we found a great selection of drinks. We had 2 courses from the lunch menu and it was all absolutely amazing! We Will definitely be coming back again. Great staff. Great atmosphere/chilled music selection and great food and drink.

Worst roast beef dinner I have ever had ! Super thin sliced beef too thin to be pink as advertised, gravy and salad ? What's that about ! Chewy calamari! 6 diners 3 were just OK. Others were not. Wine was ok.

Too quiet. Underbusy therefore understaffed, which reflects on their service capabilities. Nonetheless, very clean and once it arrived very nice food.

Spotted whilst driving from shopping and thought we would call in for lunch. Our first time in and we will be back, unexpectedly very large pub, nice atmosphere and the food was amazing! Very happy that they cater for GF too. Super service compliments to all 👏

Previously known as 'The Frog & Railway' due to its proximity to the Heaton Mersey railway station that was closed in the 1960s, 'The Heaton' under its current management has a very good selection of food. We arrived at 12.00 so were served straight away. I had the cheeseboard as a starter and fish pie as the main. The fish pie was really good much better than what you would get in a supermarket - lots of fish rather than mainly potato. The crème brûlée was a very generous portion. Although the main road is very busy there is ample parking at the back just head for St John's Church.

Vegan burger meal served with coleslaw which wasn't vegan. Had to check with then and got told it wasn't. Felt ill next day and get feeling onion rings weren't vegan either. Either way the vegan meal wasn't vegan

Will never return to this Pub/Restaurant! I have just moved into the area and we thought to go for some dinner to have a look around… Poor service and manners, I had my 1 year old little girl with me who is teething at the minute and when she started to cry the bar tender and a man who was stood at the bar looked like they was speaking about us, making hand gestures and pulling faces. They then went on to check if our food was ready, in and out of the kitchen. After this they went for a cigarette and left the bar unattended! Totally unprofessional and disgusting manners. The food wasn’t the best either lasagna had hardly any pasta and the fish was really dry. It is lovely inside however I think they need well trained bar tenders/waiters working here and improved food.

Amazing service and the food was spot on! I had the Chorizo Stuffed Chicken which was perfectly cooked (and the sauce was up there as one of the best I've had!), hughly recommend this place!

Really disappointed in our most recent visit. This is our local pub and we've been a number of times and been impressed, not this time. Our server misheard our order of Fish Platter for two and bought a Pate. I even checked as we ordered as he sounded like he hadn't understood. When we flagged it the staff had to come out again after a few minutes to ask again what we wanted. My partner was handed a plate so hot on one side it burnt her hand. A replacement meal took another 30 minutes to arrive by which point half our party had to leave. The meal arrived with an apology but the batter was salty and unimpressive. The other meals didn't stand out either sadly (especially compared to previous visits). By this point we also had to leave with a barely touched meal and were charged full price. Not required but a gesture would have been at least offer half of the late meal or 10% off the bill (£6). Sadly my view of The Heaton has really changed and we won't be returning or recommending it.

Sat on the busy main road (noise not an issue) amongst a row of shops. Ic brought me here for my first visit in 5 years. Large open plan pub with rear beer patios and large car park. The pub seems to have an excellent selection of lunch, evening and Sunday food menus. Icarus wants to return to try the duck special or Sunday roast. Only downside was just one real ale..John Willy Lees Manchester Pale Ale. Ic judged it a good pint. Food can be served everywhere but there is a specific dining area to the rear for proper celebrations. Very pleasant.

Good pub food, with a nice friendly atmosphere, and helpful efficient staff. Definitely recommend as a decent local pub. Nice interior decor and layout too.

Food was really good. Good choice of starters and mains and not to forget desserts. Nice selection of draft beers. Plenty of parking round the back for the pub.

Lovely pub, great food, fabulous service and if you sit in the beer garden you could be in a country pub overlooking the village church! Just gorgeous. Highly recommended 😊

BH Monday for lunch, worst meal I have ever had, turkey covered in v salty gravy, the stuffing was inedible, the pigs in blanket looked 2 days old, burnt crisp and inedible, the chicken with cheese crust was burnt and blackened, asked for water for the table twice which never came, the crumble was supposed to be apple and rhubarb, it was tinned pears and the crumble was awful, the staff were friendly but honestly I have eaten better school dinners, absolutely no pride in the food leaving the kitchen

Really enjoyable lunch at The Heatons, very good service and excellent food at a reasonable price. Good menu choices, pleasant atmosphere in lovely surroundings. Plenty of parking at the rear of the pub, but I imagine it would fill up if the restaurant was busy. Will definitely be going back

Great food, service a little slow but the excellent bed side manner made up for that.

Fish pie, cheese and onion pie , beef wellington and prawn linguine were ordered and each meal was delicious. Staff were so friendly and added bonus, it’s dog friendly too. Lovely atmosphere to share with friends.

Been to the Bridge in Sale and was really happy with quality of food and the waitress, Emma was lovely. I was so happy to find I had one of the chain on my doorstep The Heaton. Been twice now at lunch, once a few months ago, and today, 16th August on both occasions it was closed. Today at 12.30 when supposed to be open at 12.

Really great veggie options even on the reduced menu.

Can be a little pricey but excellent food and lovely staff. Relaxed atmosphere inside and outside.

Had an absolutely wonderful Sunday afternoon here. The team were absolutely amazing especially the lady behind the bar. I haven't enjoyed every meal I've had here but they certainly do an amazing Sunday lunch. We took our dogs in and they were made very welcome too. The pitchers of Pimms were so refreshing on a hot sunny afternoon.

Lovely food... only issue was slighty overdone steak, more towards medium than rare. However that didn't detract from the fact the rest of the food was superb and the staff friendly but not in your face, all in all a great evening

Food was ok but level of service was shocking. Took our order for food and drink and they never returned to the table after they were delivered. Never asked did we want a dessert or further drinks and ended up paying our bill at the bar on the way out. I don’t know who runs this place now but further training would be an understatement. We definitely will not be returning.

Nice pub serving very good food. Good menu, not a gastro pub but better than most. Service was excellent. Dont know how busy the pub gets but was very quiet by 10pm once the diners had left.

This place is just brilliant. The food is excellent and so are the staff. Reasonable priced menu. My son now lives around the corner so my journey from Liverpool makes it a win win.

Been here before. Food is good, staff are attentive but not really sure of the menu. So what we got wasn't what was described by our waitress, but it wasn't the end of the world. BUT IT WAS COLD IN THERE! Spoilt it somewhat otherwise would have been 5 Stars. Heads up to management train your staff, they need knowledge of how food is served and with what!

We love this place, but don't think we have actually been back since lockdown/new management. Glad to see its back to its best - if not better. The sharing board sunday roast was delicious, glad we got the cauliflower cheese because it was lovely but we couldn't finish it all. Drinks menu looked impressive but I was driving. The staff & service were great. Can't wait to go back

Good service. Visited Friday night had the chicken Caesar burger. Parents had fish and chips. Great portions. Also the Gobi Manchurian as a starter was top top notch. Had it all the time whilst travelling and this was proper Bo selecta 🕺🏻

Tasty British pub food and great service.

Nice clean pub, quick and attentive staff. 6 meals and starters presented nicely. The only disappointment was my Korean lamb which was full of flavour but very grisly and made it chewy and difficult to eat. Will return but have a different meal.

Amazing food and service. Quickly becoming my go to local for a pint and food. Lots of variety on the menu with the Cheese and Onion pie a standout dish. On Sundays you need to try the sharing roast, my young lad loves his children Sunday roasts but always tucks into the board too. Additional bonus of a massive beer garden for the days when the sun is out and to have a few beers

Top nosh and first class service. I visited The Heatons with my daughter and her to be bridesmaids.The menu was interesting and refreshingly varied.Each of us had a different dish…. All good portions ,all excellent and all arrived at the same time . The staff were just lovely and couldn’t do enough to make our visit special. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back .Well done a great attribute to Heaton Mersey .
