The Harbourfront Bistro in Isle of Anglesey

My 3rd visit just gets better and better .The crab is wonderful highly recomended.So was the steak and salad I chose this time.cant wait for my next visit . Thank goodness its only down the road .

A wonderful place. Really beautiful view of the harbor and incredibly clear water. Good atmosphere and very nice service. The food is delicious, especially the homemade burger with meat from a local butcher. The prices are affordable but for this kind of food it's really worth it. Parking is higher up the street. There is a bay where you can park your car for free. There is a small souvenir shop next to it. There is also a descent to the beach with pebbles, so while waiting for shame you can go down and wait there, making ducks in the water 😉. I would love to go back there and I highly recommend it. A good place for families with children. Peace and quiet.

Lovely place. I popped in here for lunch and was very impressed with the food, atmosphere and friendliness of the staff.

No delivery of fish so weren't avaliable for lunch, coffees pretty awful. Must be a hit and miss place from the reviews.

Would give you guys more stars if I only could. Absolutely phenomenal burger, milky cheese, sensationally cooked meat and all that tucked inside a lovely bun. Beef was so fresh and smelled fantastic, it was literally falling apart on my plate. The absolutely best burger I have ever had and I've tasted a few. Came with a salad and a tiny bit of coleslaw, both fresh and equally tasty. BBQ sauce, even though there wasn't much, it was smoky and rich on flavour as well, perfect to dip your fries in! All that with a Peroni (I'm I'm not mistaken) on tap. Service was polite, knowledgeable and overall exceptional. Plenty of free parking spaces around the restaurant & clean toilets inside. Thank you for this experience and I hope you do well in the future.

Honest to bloody god, this place is amazing. The food and the choice is just amazing and is bound to just fill you up. I had the small dishes and they were bloody banging mate <3 Would hundred percent come here again :> The only complaints I'd say is the parking and the service. but its a very minor issue.

Staying in the area and wanted to celebrate our anniversary,so going on other reviews booked here,so glad we did, really friendly and welcoming staff in an amazing setting.The portions are generous and every dish was full of flavour, we had the cauliflower (which was a revelation) and duck bon bons,a crab salad special and fish tacos, somehow we also managed a portion of dirty fries which could be a meal on their own !,the locals are lucky to have it.

Cute, casual, little cafe behind the Maritime museum, right on the water. The day I was there, it was sunny and warm, so sat outside. Just had a snack. Staff were friendly and service was lovely.

What an amazing experience 👏 Perfect location, really cozy bistro with breathtaking food. You can order a selection of three small plates and get free fries, a popular option since the small plates are simply delicious. I can highly recommend the salted striped steak 🥩 as a main. Overall one of the best restaurants we ever visited in the last few years.

1st time there and we loved it. Food was fabulous and the place was gorgeous, busy but relaxed atmosphere. We'll be back this weekend.. booking in advance recommended.

Lovely restaurant and a beautiful setting. Gluten free options on the menu too 😋 A must visit if you're in Holyhead.

We didn't make a reservation so they could only seat us at 1+pm which wasn't a problem. We just walked along the promenade to build up an appetite! So four hungry people ordered a crab & lobster sandwich, a seafood bisque with homemade spicy rum infusion, a hamburger and a haddock fish and chips. The bisque was great especially with the spiced rum. And the owner seeing is so taken with it, poured an extra tot off the run first is two taste neat! Very nice! The fish and chips were great as well. The fish was very fresh and the chips were extra crispy. The other set of chips were kind of fat so less crispy and needed ketchup 😁 The other two dishes were good but not as memorable as the bisque and fish. The dishes were large as well and we had to give up on dessert and coffee! Will definitely return, this time with a reservation!

Me and my wife basically only went looking for a coffee and stumbled across this lovely place, we couldn't get a table straight away but the manager said come back in twenty minutes and I'll have a table for you. We did that and although we didn't have a big meal the food, the atmosphere and the service were absolutely excellent. All the staff that served us were very polite and cheerful so much so that I left a tip which generally is something I don't do so keep up the good work, we certainly won't hesitate to drop in again. Thank you.

Found this amazing bistro today, popped in just for a cuppa and ended up having lunch Beautiful food and lovely staff, very welcoming. Planning to return especially from the Lake Disrict it was that good.

I came here for lunch with family while on holiday nearby, and it definitely lived up to the positive reviews! I called in the morning to see if I could book a table for the same day, and the gentleman I spoke to was lovely and helpful and managed to fit us in. The staff were all friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in. I went for Cajun fish tacos which were delicious and just the right amount of spicy! The others had fish and chips (a generous portion with chunky chips) and garlic mushrooms with fries which smelled amazing. We really enjoyed our meal with views of the harbour, and overall it was good value for money and a really nice lunch. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in the area!

Great view and atmosphere. One of our group of 4 was vegan and found they had plenty of tasty options to choose from. Everyone else in the group thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Highly recommend and will certainly return. Enjoyed the best meal of my trip home to Anglesey

Excellent place to eat. Not cheap, but worth the money. They also have a good menu, which included both vegetarian and vegan options. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, the ambience, and the staffs professionalism.

We found this gem of an eatery tucked behind the Maritime Museum in Holyhead by chance. Sat at a communal table in the enclosed porch and met a wonderful couple. The view of the harbour was excellent, the service friendly and personal, and the food freshly prepared and very tasty. A good selection of locally caught seafood.

Twice we have been and chosen 3 Tapas from the Menu. The food is excellent. The fish cakes the best we’ve ever had. All at a good price I highly recommend it

Wild weather outside, waves coming over the breakwater wall. A warm welcome and great food had at the Harbourfront Bistro. Can highly recommend the Bermudian Chowder.

The rating and review is based on my experience and the food I ordered and not that of the rest of the group I was with. We had pre booked a table, and upon arrival we were warmly greeted and promptly seated at the best table in the establishment. A cheerful waitress served us (although not very knowledgeable). We placed drinks and food orders together. Our starters arrived - Marinated Olives and Salt and Pepper Squid - Both freshly prepared and delicious. A short wait later part of our mains arrived - stunningly presented, piping hot and freshly made. The Chicken Breast & Crab Special arrived first followed 5min later by the two Sea Bass and a further 5min later my Salt & Pepper Steak (on a skillet) - Now when I placed the order for the steak I asked what cut it was (this is a huge thing for me as this would have cemented my decision - I was never informed, and the good conversation made me forget to check), also I asked for there to be no chilli … However it was presented with a “chilli spice” sprinkled all over it. The reason I ask for no chilli is because I feel the heat ruins the flavour for me. The dish was beautifully presented on a sizzling skillet which adds to the hype … but … that’s where it ended. I was confused as to what cut of meat was on the plate as it did not look like any cut I could identify (not Sirloin, Rump or Ribeye) either one of these would have made a world of difference. I’m not sure if it was the meat or the seasoning that gave me the impression I was eating Donner Kebab, and the chilli flakes halted any enjoyment. Three slices in and I stopped eating - regrettably only one star here. On the other hand … My family absolutely enjoyed ALL the other dishes. The food both looked AND tasted amazing! My Moms Chicken was succulent and she normally eats like a sparrow, but somehow managed to finish the WHOLE dish! The fresh Crab special was the best ever eaten and the Sea Bass was fresh and delicious - Two stars! My suggestion would be to turf the meat you are presenting as steak and offer a Rump/Sirloin/Ribeye - and prepare fresh Waffles those frozen ones are terrible Otherwise a charming and delightful little storefront Bistro with buckets of charm and definitely a MUST visit!

From the moment you walk in you get the most friendlinest of welcomes. We sat in the lovely conservatory area with beautiful views of the harbour. We chose our drinks but took an age to choose our meals as we couldn't decide on the delicious options but the waitresses were so patient and seemed happy to wait. Eventually my husband chose the burger which he was over the moon that it came with a sourdough bun rather than the norm these days of brioche. He decided it was definitely one of the better burgers he'd had when eating out . I chose the seared flat iron steak topped with chilli and spring onion in a bed of roast vegetables. Oh my !! A great choice. It was deliciously tender and had a fantastic seasoning on it. We followed it up with a salted caramel brownie for my husband and a wonderful sticky toffee pudding for me. Both absolutely delicious. I'd highly recommend eating here . The service, food and ambience are all top notch. We'll definitely make this a regular when we're on Anglesey.

Racist place, don't go if you are not from the town. Very rude staff that lied that you need a reservation to dine in. When we entered, a man looked at us up and down and asked if we had a reservation, to which we said no as there is no information whatsoever on the website or in the reviews about needing a reservation. There were empty tables, but he said they were full. I then tried to call the number from the website 3 times, on the third try, some lady answered the phone, and when I asked about reservation, she hung up on me. Definitely not recommending this place.

I love this place, as does everyone I have either taken there or recommended to. I have always had a very friendly welcome and excellent food. I was there on Sunday for my lunch and will return as soon as I am back in Anglesey. To all the staff, keep up the good work, you do an excellent job together.

This is our new favourite place. Great food, friendly service and spectacular views. The sharing platters are an inspired idea. Can't wait for our next visit.

What a lovely little find i had the Bermuda fish chowder it was amazing but mostly the staff and the atmosphere made me feel so welcome I had a very long day and a longer wait before my ferry this place felt like the hug I needed they let me sit at the most picturesque table with the best view even tho is was already booked they let me have it once I finished in the hour which I really appreciated because these days it’s so hard to get service as a single person eating I finished at the high table looking at the view I can’t compliment this business enough most definitely I will be back and I advise anyone traveling through holyhead on the ferry or others wise save your eating for when you get here 🙂🙂🙂💯💯👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼✅✅✅✅

Visited here recently on two occasions, both times we had a great experience. Staff are friendly and helpful, the food was delicious with plenty of choice and the location is breathtaking.

Just out for a drive and dropped in on spec. Great food. Nice views of the harbour even in the usual pouring rain. Definitely one to try.

I had Sunday lunch, the roast beef was so lean and succulent, like nothing I had eaten in a restaurant before - delicious 😋

I didn't want to review the Harbourfront Bistro as it might make it harder to get a booking! As a local, this is a gem of a place. The food is of a high quality & plentiful. Their take on tapas & the choices is excellent. The staff greet you with a genuine smile & they are professional & attentive but not intrusive. The setting overlooks the outer harbour & is a nice backdrop. Whether you dine in the conservatory or not, the views & decor create a nice ambience. There are a couple of parking spaces near the bistro including a disabled space or you can park on the promenade, which is very close by.

Great restaurant with an amazing view. Staff are so polite and the food is excellent. We loved the Sunday lunch last week, would highly recommend.
