Fantastic helpful cheerful staff. Chefs cooked a lovely roast in the bar area, where you can actually see them cooking for our large group of 9. No rush on leaving our table after our meal. Good portions and vegetarian options. Highly recommend.

Went on 10th March for Mother’s Day ,food was fantastic, my only complaint was the table had also been booked at 3pm for another family, when we arrived we weren’t told a 2hour slot so went on to buy another bottle of Prosecco and drinks . At 3.10 was told table was reserved for another family and had to move quickly. I spoke to manager saying why hadn’t we been told it was also booked at 3pm ? He said we can’t be hear to tell you all the rules 🙄good reply. Wont be going back . All he had to say was sorry I didn’t know you hadn’t been told. Poor response from management.

We had a very fun evening in the Hanbury Arm’s as there was such great live music. However, the staff were really rude - doesn’t take much to be polite to paying customers / be polite in general!

I have a lunch club and we sometimes try new places. On this occasion, 1 person travelled 50 miles from Before and 1 from North of Watford (30 miles). We chose this pub as it boasted a variety of real ales and referee to London Pride (their top advertised beer) as the most popular etc... When we arrived, not only did they have NO selection, they had just ONE real ale but it had gone off. The person behind the bar wasn't apologetic in ANY way and simply said it wasn't her fault and that she 'didn't do the website'. I asked if a manager was there and she said no. There was NO apology. We therefore booked into another pub locally and had a good lunch and with drinks spent and spent over £687 - they missed out! Don't bother with this place there are many other good pubs locally

Viewed their website before booking. It claims to serve certain drinks and products. It doesn’t. For example they had only one real ale and that was on the turn and not drinkable. We questioned, very politely, why they didn’t serve much of what is stated on their website and the lady manager became defensive then angry and then incredibly rude, so much so that we decided not to stay for the lunch booking and went to another place - recomended by one of the other customers who’d heard the exchange. If this is typical behaviour of the manager this pub will destroy its reputation very quickly and end up closing again. The industry is finding it difficult to recruit staff at the moment but they’d be better being short staffed than employing someone who could single handedly destroy the business.

The manager of this place was rude, obnoxious and discriminatory towards us for us standing outside the pub with a can of beer, which a friend was finishing before we were going to enter the pub, and a sign from a protest. We were then told by bar staff we aren't allowed in (not even from the manager himself) and that they were sorry. The bar staff were completely fine with us all but the manager when questioned, started shouting and swearing at my female friend infront of everyone. Do not use this establishment unless you like to be discriminated against and abused for no reason.

For no reason we were told we would not be served. On inquiring as to the reason why, the manager got verbally abusive. Horrible experience. We will not be going back.

My husband and I popped into the Hanbury Arms for a Roast dinner the weekend. I must say, the food was AMAZING. We both had the Lamb and it was soo tasty and plenty of it. I was full up but as the dinner was soo nice i could not miss out on a desert. I thought i would go for something light, so i had the buttermilk panna cotta with strawberries. I must say, it was the BEST panna cotta i have ever tasted. YUM! Compliments to the Chefs. The young girl that served us was very friendly. The Hanbury arms make there own Gin on the premises too. The pub has a Nice & Cosy feel to it. Will definitely be back...

Really good Sunday roast. Nice pink sirloin of beef with all the trimmings to take away! Crisp vegetables and decent Yorkshire. Not cheap at £17 a plate - but Sunday Dinner isn’t a cheap meal. Every bit as good as such Islington stalwarts as the Pig & Butcher and the Albion - but to take away. Does come with gravy!

We visited the Hanbury (seems to have been sold and changed hands from being the Hanbury Arns) for a take out Sunday roast today as London is in lockdown - the staff were really friendly and accommodating and the roast beef was amazing - fresh, bursting with flavours from the meat, gravy and various nicely cooked Vegetables and amazing roasties... if you want a tier 4 pick up this will definitely do the job...I wish the Hanbury all the best ...we are so glad they have moved the pub on from how it was...

So happy with the beautiful refurb of my favourite pub! The food is excellent, they have all the classics and some rare dishes, the chef really knows what he is doing. Staff are lovely and there is a great atmosphere. They did such a great job with the space, there is a great corner couch around a fireplace, comfortable booths and high tables with stools - there's even a cute 'hidden' corner table for 2! Highly recommend a visit, you'll love it!

We live very close to this pub and decided to try it as we eat out a lot, and take friends out often. We used to go to this pub very regularly with friends under the old management. We know all of our neighbours well and wanted to tell them how the refurb had been carried out.We had two bottles of wine with lunch. Lunch was mediocre at best. When the bill arrived there were three bottles on it. Two were the most expensive on the menu, one was the bottle we had ordered. We pointed out the error. They insisted that they had served us the most expensive bottles. We told them that we had not ordered them and hadn't notice their error. The manager insisted that we pay for their 'mistake'. It's a cheap and rather shabby trick usually used in tourist venues. This place closes on Thursday under lockdown. We rather hope that it doesn't reopen.

Ella tampoco estaba preocupada.Hanbury Arms me ha perdido como cliente.

I moved onto the Square 3 years ago and have been using this pub once a week since. But gradually it is going downhill, the pizzas are good, but the salads have always something missing from them, bad management, miserable, rude staff. Last night was the last straw, took my family in to take part in the pub quiz, order food and drinks, tables dirty, glasses dirty, then a mouse comes out to say hello, i have never seen so much rubbish behind the bar, empty bottles strewn over the place, needs a Hygiene inspection asap.

Being a fan of the Upper Street, Islington area, I have been meaning to visit this lovely looking drinking establishment for quite some time now. Yes, I am being a bit posh when referring to a Great British, London pub.Fantastic décor, a mixture of classic wood and chesterfield leather furniture, we are talking vintage here, so there is a feel at home vibe, in a subtly plush manner. Excellent food, mainly light Italian delicacies and dishes, to compliment the alcoholic drinks menu no doubt.Staff are helpful and polite, plus service is swift. This all helps to maintain ‘a place for all’ environment that makes The Hanbury Arms, such an appealing venue. Now, my litmus test for a good drinking establishment is whether the venue is able to provide monopoly and scrabble board games as part of their hospitality offer. The Hanbury Arms located in Linton Street, N1 has both, plus a Jenga board game set! It’s the little things that count when working on digital marketing projects for mthepro.com.The venue is a great place for after work drinkers, entrepreneurs, families as well as mature and young couples. Very popular with the local population, this is a pub restaurant that holds its own rather well with clientele who may be more akin to the whole bar restaurant experience in generally quiet part of town.Has to be said that a small percentage of the locals, were a little over enthusiastic if not a little non-chalant in their interaction, with those popping their heads in for the first time. I would hope that this is an infrequent occurrence.

Recently had a "Works do" here on one of the last working days before Christmas. I found the staff very friendly. There were two good real ales on offer including one brewed very locally by the Hackney Brewery. There were two members of staff working very hard to get some delicious pizzas out for the large party I was part of. All in all quite a pleasant pub, the staff did well to cope with the demands of our huge party. I look forward to next year's pre-Christmas party there as well. My only gripes were that there was not enough seating and perhaps there could have been some more real ales on offer

Walking in to the bar on Thursday night and looking for a table. Another customer was about to leave of which the manager had suggested and gestured towards the table we were looking at. I kindly and politely asked the gentleman who was about to leave it would be okay for us to get their table after they left, and that we would happily wait by the side. The erratic and rude manager came up to me, aggressively telling me how dare I talk to one of the customers and that I was forcing myself upon them. This was not the case. The manager then proceeded to rudely look at me and my group making me feel uncomfortable for a considerable amount of time. Absolute power trip and terrible customer service.
