It doesn'tt look great from the outside but inside you'll find some of the best original Thai food that I have had in London. Simply delicious. Very friendly staff and cheap. A hidden gem.

This is now a thia restaurant, which is no way as good as the old cafe. It is more expensive and the food is not as good.

The Hammersmith Café and its unique Thai builders blend was not my kind of food. But that hasn't stopped me recommending it those I know who have a penchant for Thai cuisine.

I'm living in London since 2008 , and every time I would like some Thai food the answer is always Hammersmith cafe . The food is always fresh , the apetissier of the chef delicious, the Tum yum definitely glorious . There are a lot of variety of noodles you can get lost in the menu , however the friendly staff is ready to help giving you advice. Top level restaurant!!

I just called this place for some information, and a girl starts to "say" (or maybe should I say "Shout") something that I couldn't understand. But it's not enough because then she just HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME!Is that a polite attitude? I don't think so.I just know that I will never come in this place. If you customer care sucks I can't think then about the rest.

I used to come here all the time and the food was always fresh, tasty and great value. Sadly it has gone downhill. Service was fine but starters were greasy, and my 'three taste fish' didn't even manage one taste. The batter was soggy and my four small pieces of fish were drowning in a greasy, tasteless, syrupy sauce. Nothing like the fresh tasting dish I have had previously. What a disappointment as this was once a local gem, but I won't be going back.

This little eatery makes the best food of any restaurant or cafe anywhere (in my opinion) I'm Italian and my first food love was always Italian food, lasagna, carbonara ...etc until I discovered this cafe at the end of my road. It's a transport cafe that does the best Eastern food anywhere. It's Thai which I think is fused with Mongolian which gives it it's unique flavour. The curries are really creamy and the portion for all the receipes are very generous. So generous I coukd take it away and eat twice in a day if I wanted.

This is a little gem amongst some rather expensive and disappointing offers in Hammersmith, specifically off Kings Street. This has become a trusted weekly favourite for lunch. The Thai offerings never disappoint, with good flavours and decent size portions. Omelettes are also good!

I just can't see what all the fuss is about. Pretty average food (and I've been to Thailand before you ask) and certainly a bit of a transport cafe feel. Reasonable value, but not cheap. Underwhelming service, until she smiled towards the end. It's just ok. No special reason to go there.

This is a little gem in Hammersmith, my wife and I try eat here when we are in the area and the food always reminds us of Thailand, nothing to look at but the food is goood!! Don't come here for service but just for a little taste of Asia. The other Thai places look very nice and up market and their prices reflect this but sometimes there food doesn't!When we were back packing I don't think we saw to many fine dining Thai restaurants but just little digs like this one in Hammersmith!

I've just had my second meal at the Hammersmith Cafe in six months (frequent for me) and felt compelled to write a positive review. This is one of those schizophrenic restaurants that's a greasy spoon by day and a Thai by night. The decor is greasy spoon. However the lighting is reasonably kind. The service is good and the food better.Mid-market clientele who know they're onto a good thing. We just had starters after the cinema across the road (Woody Allen's 'Blue Jasmine' - not worth the ticket and thank heavens I was late from work so avoided it) and paid £29.95 plus £5 tip for three. No license and the two local wine shops sell turps so make sure to BYO - no corkage so dig deep in what you laughingly call your cellar to have a great value outing. If I was about to be 40 I'd book all the tables and have a great night.

Went to the Hammersmith cafe for Thai based on lots of good reviews. In my opinion not very good. Overwhelmed by a busy night, long waiting time for food and overcooked veg, soft squidgy broccoli and salty food. Nice waitress but rushed off her feet. Biggest concern was my view of the microwave in the kitchen and how often it was being used. I don't expect my food to be microwaved. Was definitely cheapish but hardly value for money. Would not recommend the place and would definitely not got back. Ate vegetarian food.

I have been going here for years, mostly in the evening. Just returned from lunch . The waitress was unbearably rude, the food extremely poor( one dish sent back as it tasted of floor cleaner).we returned home quickly as 2 out of 3 of us had to dash to the toilet unwell. Don't know if its changed ownership but I certainly won't go again in a hurry. What a shame! Maybe it is still ok in the evening.

In order to line my stomach before the beer festival, I tried this place on the way to Olympia. For under £5 I had 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, plenty of toast and coffee. The service was pleasant, friendly & efficient & I didnt have long to wait for my food. This is a Thai place -I don't know about the Thai food, but the traditional English breakfast (not at all greasy), was very nice, and could have contained all the other usual breakfast items, if I wanted them. Better value than most of the other similar places in the area,.Handily located opposite the Town Hall & Cinema adjacent to several bus routes along King St.

If you didn't know this place was good you would probably walk right past it without a second glance, you certainly wouldn't notice it if you looked down the road it is on from the high street but The Hammersmith Cafe is a gem.We used to come here when we lived in Hammersmith so we went back for old times sake. Eight years down the line the breakfast is as good as ever. We spent £11 for breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children to have a hearty breakfast which set us all up for the day.We didn't sample the evening Thai food but judging from the fact that they've maintained breakfast standards I suspect the Thai dinner would be just as good as it ever was!

At first glance, you might not think it is even a restaurant but once you go inside, you will discover that many people actually go in and could be packed in a moment. You think you are walking into a builders cafe, which I understand in the day the place is used as a breakfast cafe, please do not let this put you off. The place was packed to the brim and after eating the food I can see why. You take your own wine or beer 2 pound for corkage for wine and 90p for beer, you can also buy soft drinks. The menu has lots of choice, the prawn crackers were wonderful and we had some mixed starters, and variety of main courses, food served piping hot and good size portions. Have eaten lots of thai food in London and this is one of the best!! small venue but a good relaxed feeling and no pressure to vacant your table. would go back without hesitation cost approx 15 per head

Not a luxury date venue, and slightly packed together tables, but this place was brilliant. Quality of food and variety of menu was excellent. It's just opposite the cinema, but I'd actually make the trip to go here, and would prefer to spend my money in here on food than in the Hampshire hog nearby (but go there for a drink before, to make it a more special night!). Great of mates, family, dinner on own if in nearby hotels. I was most surprised that my clothes didn't smell of the fast food from earlier in the day. I will be Going back again next week. If you want posh food near by - go for indian zing, or Hampshire hog. If you want great quality, excellent taste, and value for money (inc BYO) - come here.

I've only ever been here in the evening and it has always been packed so it's good to book although it's not essential if you don't mind waiting until a table becomes free. It's definitely not a smart restaurant although it seems to have had a coat of paint since my previous visit. Lot's of plus points as the food is cheap & good and the service willing and cheerful. The BYO policy helps keep diners costs low as the corkage cheap (£2 for a bottle of wine & 90p for one of beer or cider) The only negatives for me are the dire weak coffee & the considerably less than lovely loo's which would benefit from the a visit by a plumber.

Sometimes you have to share your table as it is quite a small place but if you're sitting there reading the paper, no one will harass you to leave.A favourite local place of ours

The Hammersmith Cafe isn't a swanky or stylish place, but it's definitely cheap and cheerful. I'd thoroughly recommend it. We went on a rainy Wednesday evening and it was absolutely packed. People obviously know this place does great Thai food! I've had a consistently bad experience of Thai food in London (unless you're willing to pay over the odds for it), so I was pleasantly surprised. The bring your own wine policy seems to be a big draw too. Note that you can't actually buy alcohol in the restaurants (only soft drinks and tea), so remember to plan ahead if you want a glass of wine with your meal.

And then I discovered Hammersmith Cafe - right round the corner of my house. And it is a BYO - bring your own bottle of wine (cockage is about £2 per bottle). The usual stir-fries, fish curry, rice noodle and fried rice kind of place. My wife and I visit about once every week. We even used to have the email address of the waitress (who had just recently left for USA).
