The Great Western in Wyre Forest

The beer train on the SVR was delayed so I popped into this pub to get takeout. The lady behind the bar was very helpful providing a bottle opener and paper cups to go with the bottles of Mucklow Mild I bought.

Lovely friendly and welcoming staff. The best cheese and onion cobs and perfect pork pies.

Slightly out of town but absolutely worth a short stroll. Full of interesting items and great beers. Always offer a friendly welcome to locals and the many visitors. Their cobs are always available and I’d also recommend the Pork and Stilton pie! First class

The 🚂 station local as you’d expect by the name. Regular opening times all week is an added bonus to trying out Black Country beers ( other beers are available)

I arrived at this establishment with really high hopes of a scrumptious meal. But in all honesty ordering drinks was a hassle, they didn't have diesel fuel on the taps. This has really upset me since it isn't an all inclusive pub i know feel ashamed to identify as a vw/scirocco. They did have unleaded which was good for my friends.

Fantastic pub, great atmosphere, excellent service, really cosy and great to chill out. Their cobs are the best and their olives are so delicious, also the beer is of very good quality.

Warm and welcoming pub with friendly staff and very dog friendly. Great selection of local ales and fab choice of cobs and snacks. Always warm and cosy and often has a fire in the winter. Lots of outdoor seating in the summer right next to the railway line for any train enthusiasts.

The Great Western is everything you would want in a tradional pub - great local ales, quality cobs freshly made in house so they never run out - real fires and great service - "Handle or Straight Glass Sir..." - looking forward to my next visit.

Pleasantly surprised. The inside was very nice with a good range of drinks and the cobs were great. We had a nice time waiting for the train to arrive back at the station and had a great view to see the trains arrive

Great pub named after the Great Western railway which exists locally as the Severn valley railway, popular with it's regulars and visiting railway enthusiasts, local beers from bewdley brewery with great service and awesome pork pies. If you enjoy pub games there is a dart board upstairs.

On holiday in Bewdley 2nd Sept for a week. Lovely pub Some real ales, nice to see some from Bewdley Brewery just across the bridge (who have tap room too as well as a shop, visited there too). Black pudding pork pie delish (from Wyre Pie Co.) and a lovely cheese and ham cob (we shared half of each). Wish we'd visited the pub the last 4 times we've had a hol in Bewdley!

Great traditional pub with traditional pub grub - cheese and onion cobs plus ham cobs and local pork pies and sausage rolls. Not to mention high quality local Ales- superb. Only a short walk from Bewdley Severn Valley Railway Station.Ideal stopping off location.

Nice pub with a good selection of cask beer. Friendly staff. Rolls and pork pies behind the bar look great, will hopefully try on the next visit.

Great friendly little pub. Fresh food; cobs, olives, pork pie etc. Very reasonable prices for drinks. Helpful, friendly staff. It's a dog friendly pub too inside and out.

We visited recently for a quick drink. Paid and sat outside. A few minutes later the barman came outside to explain that he had overcharged us and gave us the change in cash. As non-locals we were very impressed with his honesty, and if we are ever in the area again we would not hesitate to go there again. 5 stars.

Always a friendly welcome. We are not regulars but always made to feel like we are. Great food and great ales and great atmosphere.

A fantastic pub, close to the Severn Valley Railway. The pub is dog friendly, and the staff and clientele are very welcoming. They have a well kept selection of real ales and ciders, and if you're feeling hungry, offer filling crusty cobs, pork pies, sausage rolls and scotch eggs. The pub has much more cosy and homely feel about it, than many on the other side of the river.

Arrogant staff, swearing at you whilst deciding which lager to choose from. Asked to top up a Golden Glow and told that’s it’s dropped head due to in decision of choosing which lager to have. Don’t bother going

Bald barman was disgustingly rude treated my party like rubbish and served me the worst flattest coca cola ever in a dirty glass and it made me feel physically sick won't be going back or recommending to my twitter fans 👎👎👎👎👎

Would love to have this place as my local. Customer Service was top drawer, was cosy with the fires on and a nice laid back pub. Beer and cob hit the spot nicely. Hope to return in the near future.

What is there not to like. Brilliant Ale, Fresh Cobs, Porkpie & lovely fires. It’s like going back in time. I also felt very safe re no queuing because table service. Customers & staff really friendly. So very relaxing.

Was made to feel very uncomfortable by 1 particular member of staff. She was a young lady with dark hair and tattoos if I remember. The pub was particularly busy on New Years Eve. I was looking for a table for our group. She was quite rude on more than one occasion. I went and stood outside as she made me feel unwelcome. I went back in and looked upstairs to see if a table had come free. I was at the top of the stairs when she spoke to me with a real attitude and scowl on her face. She said "can you move I need to come upstairs " as she said it she looked at a few customers and shook her head. I walked downstairs feeling so anxious and uncomfortable and walked outside. She really shouldn't be working in hospitality. We all sat outside. All the other staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. A real shame. Her actions spoiled our time...

My local and all my family and friends love to come as see us from Birmingham so we can talk them to pub.Love the open fire's this weather.

Service was great. Only my third visit to a pub since lockdown ended. Ordered first drink at bar and the drinks were brought to the table and paid for at the table. Regular checks by staff to clear empty glasses and to ask if more drinks required. Again brought to table and paid for there. Very much a locals pub. VERY dog friendly so don't go if you don't like dogs.

Great beer the numbers from Bewdley brewery my particular favourite and the cobs and pork pies were gorgeous and they are still doing table service aswell thanks guy's can't wait to get back 👍

Best pub ever! Delicious cobs and dog friendly. What not to love. This pub is my go to pub. If I’m needed every knows I’m most likely to be at the western with my dog and with a cob and a refreshed drink.

Every time we come to Bewdley we come here every day. The staff are amazing very obliging table service is one of the best. It’s also spotlessly clean. Bar snacks are great especially the rolls. Wish we lived near a pub like this.

Good range of well-kept beer. Last visited two nights before lockdown 2 and it seemed a careful covid-secure pub. Friendly table service with beer and cobs brought to you very quickly. Look forward to visiting again after lockdown.

Spit and sawdust place. If you like real ale then your on for a treat.
