Well what can I said we recently got married here and what a venue. But what makes the venue is the amazing staff from start to finish Mel has been there for us I would highly recommend this venue if you want to have a party a wedding or anything else Mel. And the team are the best

Beautiful venue for a wedding. Fantastic gardens and purpose built building. Staff polite and friendly. Maybe could do with a better selection of tonic waters and a couple more choices of wine at the bar...

The staff did a great job and the venue is ideal. Only a couple of small things - bar prices continually changed throughout the evening (up and down) and the music and sound system could do with an overhaul. Catering by Twelve was fantastic! Thank you

Had our wedding here, stayed 2 nights in the Great Hall, the venue was more than we ever expected and the food by 12 restaurant was probably the best I have ever eaten. I cannot recommend Mains highly enough and thank you to all the Mains staff and 12 staff for a fantastic 3 days. Steve and Debbie Heyworth

perfect, they’re no longer allowed to play music any louder than background music, it was so low, we couldn’t hear it so dancing wasn’t an option, this, in my opinion makes it unsuitable as a wedding venue. The owners were rude too so not a great atmosphere! The response below is indicative of the attitude we witnessed at this place. Passive aggressive. These owners need to open their eyes and see how other venues are dealing with the restrictions, they’ve been in place long enough to adapt and find more creative ways to keep guests happy. A fair few guests left early and the music was barely audible so how the owner didn’t hear the complaints is beyond me. Dancing is allowed under the current restrictions, just not on a dance floor and music is allowed… as another guest pointed out “Tesco’s music is louder than this” I’ve been to 2 other weddings but this was the only venue that didn’t attempt to provide a near normal celebratory atmosphere. They could easily have done so had customer care been considered. I’m glad the guests weren’t rude enough to be honest on their departure though… they have class.

The place itself was beautiful the hall beautiful the catering staff lovely. I could not believe they lit a fire when it was so hot no windows open it was already sweltering. The food was fantastic but the wait between the starters and the main meal was far too long and the desserts were far too large. The man and wife owners were awful rude obnoxious and don't deserve an ounce of credit with the awful attitude they have so glad I am not employed by them. I would love to have had my wedding at their venue but with owners attitude like that I will give it a miss thank you.

Was invited to a close friends' wedding here and it was excellent. Management took the best care of the bride and groom making their day the best it could possibly be, with the super friendly and polite staff making the day fantastic for the rest of us.

My partner caters weddings here and we have just booked our wedding here. Lovely place beautiful surroundings.

Not sure how to explain what a lot of us thought and experienced Thursday and at the wedding yesterday. The place including accommodation is first class, clean and as a wedding venue, fantastic. It started last week, I had to cancel the singer, his public liability certificate was not up to date. The sweetie trolley lady we paid for to come in for the afternoon to sort the kids out was not allowed in, she didn’t have public liability. When I asked about the singer I was told no songs can be sung that are known, as they might get sued for copy right. When we started the wedding I asked for tea for the elderly people, sorry it too hot we might get sued for someone burning themselves. At the night time some cut their foot on the dance floor. Before first aid or plasters came out, the poor girl had to sign a disclaimer, you got it, they don’t want to be sued. One person brought a bottle wine to the wedding night do as a present, the staff confiscated it. I have never come across so much paranoia in having a claim against someone as this place. Lighten up you let the place down

What can I say mainshall was a fantastic venue for our wedding from day we arrived was relaxing they did everything the staff was fantastic they really go out of there way the venue itself is out of this world the manor omg bueatiful stunning and so relaxing thank you for everything. It was a dream wedding x

Lovely setting. Very disappointed with the staff. Seems to be a general theme when reading the other reviews...I will not post on here my full views on matters but I will be contacting the company directly to raise a number of concerns.

Attended a wedding here. Stunning venue. Good food. Pleasant efficient staff. A little disappointed that no draft beer available....

Grounds were beautiful, staff were not very welcoming, drinks expensive and if you leave it on the table to get up and dance staff throw it away. Bacon and sausage buns were stale and cold. Dont pay for the drinks package as you only get one drink with your meal for around £18.50 a head. Didn't ruin the wedding due to great guests and a lovely couple. Disgrace to charge their prices as staff and tiny portioned food were not fit for purpose.

House and gardens are absolutely beautiful. The manager I feel is certainly in the wrong role or was having a bad day. Customer service hhhmmmmm. One of the most rude I have met in a long time. This is a shame as the weddings and surroundings are amazing.

Fantastic day on my daughter's wedding ,great main meal a little disappointing with the evening food for the amount we paid ,but didn't spoil the day . The venue is great and Mel the host was also fantastic .Highly recommended

Pretty gardens, nice food. Parking arrangements are chaotic as there are no marked spaces. Bar service was very slow. Plenty of staff but no organisation.

It was a lovely place, nice gardens. Hall was decorated for wedding. Little cold inside initially but log fire soon warmed everything up.

Attended a wedding and spent the whole day at the place, great facilities with scenic grounds. Food was excellent (I think 12 Restaurant did the catering). Drinks were a little pricey though.

Attended evening wedding reception. Lovely place. Nice supper of excellent quality sausage or bacon butties. Beautiful selection of mini desserts and fresh fruits to put on skewers and dip in melted chocolate. Great waiting on staff. Lovely place. Only downside was very expensive drinks.
