We recently held our gender reveal here and it couldn’t have been more perfect! Our guests commented on how amazing the food was and how much choice there is. The team were extremely welcoming, helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much to ask for! Ourselves and our guest would recommend this place to anyone!

Went here for my anniversary with my partner, the food was immaculate and the portions were perfect! Best chips I've ever had!! brilliant atmosphere and such lovely staff! The outdoor area was lovely for the kids to play around while we enjoyed our drinks in the sun 🌞 Highly recommend! Will be going again.

This is an excellent local, friendly pub. The staff are extremely attentive and welcoming. Plenty of outdoor seating and a very large play area for children. The food is lovely, with plenty of choice for everyone.

Being a Cockney working in Brimgham I found accomdation.In a small village where the local pub was called The Gate Inn. Upon entering the pub and standing at bar its the first time I have experienced such warmth and friendship.People say hello to you.Time as moved forward 2 years . I look forward to coming here after work. Wendy and the gang are a fabulous crowd make you feel very very comfortable and the food is bloody good.Top draw . Please come you will enjoy you will not be disappointed. T Sargent

Arrived after kitchen had closed but the chef was kind enough to open back up and cook us a meal. The food was terrific, pie was awesome and the chips were the best I've had.

Really good food tasty and a good portion. The service was very good as well. There are 2 different parts to the pub, the restaurant for dining and a separate bar for drinking, decent size carpark and outside area, worth a visit.

On arrival general first appearance lovely old pub, on entry greeted by staff place was empty in the Lounge staff was nice and welcoming. Ordered the pasta as did the rest of our group was nice and presented well. Then we ordered dessert what a disaster, talking away desserts arrived we started to eat on my second scoop of cheese cake I thought this doesn’t taste good putting on my glasses to see it was full of mould!!!! Called over the waitress who looked and said ewww it’s all over it taking it away quickly as place was getting busy at that point non of the group wanted to eat anymore neither did we finish the drinks. Waitress came back over to us to take dishes and asked me if I felt sick obviously my reply was yes she gave me a pity look and walked away. Got up to leave and to pay the bill same waitress offered me a handful of old chocolates and in her words as “ a peace offering”. We left quickly. To top it off all 3 of us spent the night throwing up, only thing we had the same was the pasta. I would honestly avoid the food at this place. I would upload a picture of my mouldy cheesecake but is doesn’t let me!

Had food here yesterday was amazing chef accommodates for everyone. Bar staff was lovely very friendly. Wendy the manager went above and beyond. Would definitely be returning.

Went for a mid week pub lunch. Food was really nice, beer good too. As it was 2pm on a tuesday it was very quiet but would definitely go back again.

It's a country pub, but somehow without the charm. The building itself is nice & cosy. Hard working & efficient staff, and the beer was good. On the day we went it was very busy. Football on the TV, mainly male clientele, loud blokey conversations. Heaven for some, but not for me.

Lovely Sunday dinner and an always enjoyable Cypriot menu for a change.

I rarely leave reviews but this place definitely warrants it! We were camping nearby and decided to call in for a drink. After looking at the food menu we decided to order the Mac n cheese bites, steak and halloumi skewers and the pepperoni pizza. It was hands down the best pub meal I have had in a long time! Staff were really friendly and a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely visit again when we’re in the area 😊

Great authentic pub with food and beer to match. We went for Sunday lunch and our group had the beef and lamb both were delicious and desserts were lovely too the girls had the Toblerone cheese cake while I stuck with the sticky toffee pudding. The gravy was lovely too but they're not shy on putting it on your meal but they will serve it separately so remember this if you are fussy like me.

Great pub serving a good selection of draught beers, and the food is great. Caters for children and has a very good playground to the rear of the pub with ample parking. Will definitely visit again.

Pros : Sunday dinner : £13.25p. Good food, would have been nice to have some mash. Cons: Only issue was service, had to wait 15 minutes at the till for someone to take my order. Service at the table was good.

The playground is good for the kids, parking is fine, the service leaves something to be desired waited around an hour an 45 for our food with items missing. The food itself was not the quality I would expect for the prices charged. With a few tweaks with the food and service I think could be a really nice country pub.

Meal out with daughter & grandson midweek first time at the Gate. Staff very warm welcome although locals give you that look of " strangers in our Pub". Ignored that though, had had very nice meal, lamb kebabs were excellent. Would recommend a visit

After looking at Google reviews we decided to eat here on our way to Birmingham Airport. This is a nice country pub with plenty of outdoor space. The staff and customers were friendly and there was a relaxed atmosphere. The food and service was excellent and we will definatley call again next time we are flying from Birmingham.

Lovely old pub with a conservatory giving extra tables for dining. Sunday lunch was so good, plenty of veg and roasties & the meat was plentiful and tender too. A very pleasant afternoon was had by all. Looking forward to the next visit.

Yet another fantastic meal at The Gate. It really is one of the best pubs around for food. I had the steak and ale pie, which was fantastic as usual and served with some of the best chips ever. My fiancée had Chicken Gyros kebabs off the specials menu, served with the same home-cooked chips and a really nice grilled flatbread. The chef is a Cypriot and he clearly knows his stuff when it comes to cooking dishes from that region, because they were absolutely beautiful. I've previously had the chicken skewers which are equally as good. We must try the Sunday Roast soon, I bet that is superb too. 10/10, every time. If you haven't tried here, please do!

Went for my birthday meal with my family. It was our first visit to The Gate. There was a good selection of food,beer and deserts. The local people and staff in the pub were friendly and welcoming. The food we all had was gorgeous and served piping hot. There was a specials board again with a very good choice of food. I would highly recommend a visit to The Gate. We will be visiting again.

Popped in for a drink. Lovely large pub, in the countryside, lots of outdoor tables and a great play area for kids. Nice selection of ales and lagers, Madri on tap is especially good. Didn't eat this time, will be back to try the food soon as menu sounded tasty.

Always lovely food when we visit

Cracking little place, nice family vibe. Ace play areas for younger ones and toddlers and loads of parking. Be making many more visits in the future, be great on a hot day..

Most our visits are enjoyable , brilliant park for the children , lovely food , pleasant enough staff with the exception of one individual which we have noticed the past few visits who is extremely rude when the restaurant is slightly busy lying about food wait times and general bad attitude , 2 hours wait , it was out in 25mins we waited . Suggestion for pub owner Except bookings only on food to avoid a lot of disappointed customers when you get slightly busy .

I spoke to the waitress and ask why I was given the option of 2 types of chips you sreve here? She said the home made chips come out with all the meals off the menu. The chips I had looked dark brown in very over cooked. Very off putting to me be sure to have fries with any meal here.
