The Galley Lisburn in Lisburn

Popular local chippy. Cold drinks dispenser, toilets and free on street parking. Sit in or takeaway. Food here has improved lately. Pleasingly fish is dipped in fresh batter before deep frying giving a lite crispy finish. Other similar establishments annoyingly reheat already battered fish, so well done "The Galley".

Been coming here 18 years absolutely the best place for a chippy, staff are lovely and always remember your face. Kind and efficient service with big portions for the price. Will always recommend to a friend!

Been coming here near enough my whole life and never had a bad meal. We used to come every Saturday after training and now every Tuesday and it’s a wee family tradition in our house. The girls are the best craic and so kind. A proper Chippy and something the community needs to support more of 🩵⚓️

Nice staff, but I have to join in with the comments about quality here. This place has seriously gone downhill. The chips are mottled looking, hard and chewy, none of them were crisp. The batter is thick, floury and though crispy, it is unappetizing. The fish was bland and the red sauce tasted like paint thinner. The large portions do not make up for the poor quality. Also, £10 for a chicken burger?

Estimated delivery of 45 minutes took an hour and 40 minutes. Food soggy and can tell its been cooked when ordered and sat in a heater. Only got 2 kids nugget meals.

absolute joke, over 2 hours waiting on a delivery. Phoned and staff were rude and said the managers left early and wouldn't deal with me.

Fish n chips from take out Fish good. Massiv chip portiob was looking good but was no taste. Dead . Bland. Only ate a few. Must be good when chips better

Curry & goujons tasted great but the chips were undercooked.

Was passing on way to motorway, fancied something to eat. Bought a fish, pasty and chip. The wrappings were saturated in oil before I got to the car. The fish looked nice but was soggy and dripping with oil, the worst fish I have ever tasted. The pasty was limp and soggy as were the chips, two thirds of the meal went into the bin. Avoid this place, there must be better chippies in Lisburn

Food was delivered late, cold, and without apology. When I rang the shop, the girl said she didn’t have the order, before asking the delivery driver (who was there?) if he’d delivered it, then said it would be 5-10 minutes away. It came 20 minutes after that. I appreciate the shop was busy, as the girl said on the phone, but the fact that the food was cold made it feel a bit like a forgotten delivery or something.

Wraps weren't great onion rings greasy to point where u couldn't eat them

food took over 2 hours to come after order was placed and everything was cold when it did eventually arrive.

I placed an order that was due to arrive between 6.30pm and 7.15pm I took a chance hoping this order would arrive before 7.15 as I had friends coming at 8pm. My dinner arrived at 8pm the same time as my friends I could hardly sit and eat it in front of them so I’d a few chips and then the rest ended up in the bin leaving me heading out without dinner. Very disappointed as I frequently order from here but will think twice before ordering from them again.

Have always had Taco chips from Simply. Amazing! Plenty of Taco mince and sauce on top of chips. As Simply are no longer on Just Eat I ordered from The Galley. I was appalled at what arrived. Chips with dollop of Taco Sauce. No mince. Will never order from here again. Very poor and overpriced.

As a regular and normally a 5 star reviewer, we were disappointed as the burger did not contain any of the condiments ordered ie burger relish, fried white onion, grated cheese, lettuce or tomato. It was also cold.

The food was just about warm when it arrived.

Treated my dad to a chippy tonight, first time getting from here, curry chip was nice, but paid 7:50 for a fish and this is what I got, bare in mind from when I picked it up it maybe took 3 minutes for us to get from the chippy to our house, it was that soggy and doughy it went straight into the bin, extremely disappointed for the price

very disappointed with food tonight. Whoever fried the chips were very undercooked and hard. Did not eat them. The beans were awful. This is my first bad experience whoever was cooking tonight.

Food was locely only issue was sunday lunches all missing the cocktail sausages.. had some very unhappy kids and unhappy partner today

This place has gone seriously down hill. Soggy fish, portion of chips half the size they used to be. Cheesy chip was really small and virtually no cheese on it. We also got home and realised we were missing a chip but there was no point going back for it as food would’ve been cold by the time we got it. Will not be back

Crap. Says online that they are open until 10pm. We arrived at 7:50pm on a Wednesday, doors open and friers on and we are told that they’re closing and couldn’t take our order. Would understand if they were busy and had to shut the kitchen early to accommodate taking orders but this is just false advertising. Will never be back.

Too long a wait for an order that was just ok.

Only thing is I ordered a 6oz cheeseburger which came and had no cheese in it was dry and thrown out. Everything else was good just this.

Waited 2 hours on delivery. When I rang to see how much longer it would be the staff weren’t very helpful. Food arrived very cold. Will not be getting from here again.

Really disappointed, chips weren’t cooked!

Ordered fish and chips with a curry sauce. Half of fish was so thin, the batter was over fried and rock hard. The other half was normal in thickness, and batter on this was soggy. Portion was small. It was as if they divided a fillet obliquely in 2. Chips were just ok. A total waste of a staggering £12.50. Phoned restaurant to complain, but wasn’t offered refund. Won’t be back.

Ordered 2 large chips for £8 and had to wait over 30 minutes for them. Once we got home, turns out they gave us 1 “large” chip and another which looked like the scraps of another order. Won’t be visiting again any time soon.

Food was lovely. the chips are so nice. Will definitely be back.

I discovered this chippy not long ago and have been very happy with the food and the service each time I've been in. Staff are friendly and have a great sense of humour. Food is top notch each and every time 💪

Roast Potato's Not Great,Everthing Else Great

Second time in a row I've had something missing from my order.

I stopped for a sit down meal. Had been here before but noticed a twang of something the last time Same twang of the fish and battered sausage this time. Must be the oil. My haddock was mostly batter and the sausage had a sour taste. I ate them anyway. The mountains of chips and toppings served to others was obscene. Lots of stuff wasted and uneaten. About 8 workers milling around till, cooking, preparing orders as it was so busy. It's a very average chippy with no finesse and there are a couple of better sit downs in Lisburn. I may go back later but I certainly will not rush it. Staff are quite friendly. Tables were dirty, chips on floor and no one cleaning as emphasis is on carry outs.

Got two sunday dinners from here. Delicious. Portion sizes were huge too. Have had sunday lunch delivered from a few places before and doesnt compare to portion size and taste from the galley. Girl on phone even contacted us after we immediatly ordered to say food would be running late. Then when food arrived they had give us a few cans of free drinks to compensate. Will order from again.

Staff are very friendly. The food is what you would expect from a good Chippy. The portion sizes are amazing... The prices are responsible too. The Kebab on Chip is HUGE!!! Well worth it.

order was wrong. 1 item that was ordered wasnt delivered. 7oz tub of chicken gravy was missing

The goujons were near the size of my head, sent me more than enough food. Very generous portion, and onion rings were yum! Driver was also very nice. Massive thumbs up 👍🏻

Food is delicious, well presented and delivery time is excellent.

Asked for battered sausages, got goujons instead and the chips were old. Although delivery was fast just wasn’t as fresh.

The chips were cold and rock hard and I found like a little bit of a hard ball in my chip too and I’m pregnant so that’s bad

I used the comments to restaurant section for battered rather than normal in my cowboy supper but it arrived as normal.Not sure whether just eat are at fault or the restaurant but either way what’s the point if nobody bothers looking this up at the customers request.Disappointed as I don’t really like normal sausages so didn’t even bother eating them so contacted just eat and nothing back as yet.

Galley used to have lovely food but I had heard from lots of people that it had went majorly downhill. They were right. Ordered a chicken burger to take away and it was pink and raw inside. Only took a few bites and had to bin it. What a waste of money not to mention potential food posoining. Won't be back.

Good food. Lots of fish. This page could be fantastic if they made their own tarter sauce. Give it some flare and flavor. Instead it's just a pack of mayonnaise.

Food was great ,but tried to ring my order in and the phone was answered but I was left on hold for 5mins after which I hung up and tried again then the phone just rang out.

It was 11th July so a very busy night so not worried it was late. The fish and chips were delicious and able to eat all of them normally from other chip shops we throw most of chips out! Will definitely order from The Gallery again.

The Galley special burger- says it comes with taco and chilli sauce but no sauce was on it. The burgers were cremated and full of more lettuce than anything…Tasteless. The fish was very small and full of batter and not even 1 chip included like other places. The carton of gravy had leaked everywhere in the bag which left a small amount to use. Very disappointing.

It's a fish and chip shop with huge portion sizes. The batter on the fish was so light. Excellent!

The girls at the galley give amazing service,the food is always top notch,piping hot and nice proper food. If you're really lucky,sometimes you may catch one of the girls singing,happy at work and perchance happy in life. A wonderful atmosphere,great food,great service. Good work the galley

Ah guys, what were you thinking? Your food can be so great, but tonight was a hugely expensive disappointment. Fish was nice and crisply fried - if a bit on the oily side to eat, but the chips? White, soggy, limp and swimming in oil. Tried grilling them to resurrect, but gave up. Was so looking forward to a good fish supper :(

Chips were soggy and cold. Onion rings were more batter than onion. The curry sauce was the only OK thing.

Ordered 2 sliced chicken suppers with curry sauce with salt and vinegar unfortunately the food was drowned in vinegar and was inedible and there wasn't much chicken for the price of nearly £9

The Special chicken burger was stacked and tasty. Delivery was quick and food hot.
