Best chippy in North Wales hands down

The fish and chips here really are good. Fopd was Cooked well and not greasy. Staff were very helpful as well, even woth above and beyond requests . They labelled our food so we knew which fish was which as it's such a nice place you can choose what kind of fish you want battered. We had to wait as there was a que but thats always a good sign and the people in the que were pleasent people willing to spemd a bit more on the extra quality food. My brother actually made me drive further than i wanted as he knew this place was good and i wasn't disappointed. I'll definitely be back.

Really great chippy, I had cod and chips which was perfect. Rest of the family had various other items including burgers, nuggets, sausage, pies etc. Everyone loved their food.

Fabulous fish & chip - mushy peas were delicious - and open on a Monday evening 👍 The fish was cooked to perfection and the batter stayed crispy to the last mouthful. Highly recommend for a takeaway!

Piping hot, freshly cooked fish and chips. Crispy batter and fluffy chips. Portions are very large. We use it often and always enjoy.

There was a queue of about 7. But they were all served very quickly. Payment was by both cash and card. Food, good, so recommended.

Lovely food here at a reasonable. Not far from the promenade. Staff were very friendly. Only a short wait while fish cooked - a large fish and chips was plenty for two adults.Small amount of seating inside and out.

Had high expectations of this chippy based on all the great reviews. Must have just been there at the wrong time. We had the cod fish & chips with mushy peas. The fish was just ok, but the chips were anaemic & tasteless & full of scrappy bits. Service was good & looked very clean, but wont rush to go back.

Lovely chip shop. Fish of a decent size and cooked without too much batter. Clean , small eating area . Service even though efficient a few smiles wouldn't have gone a miss.!

Been there today, absolutely spotlessly clean and very reasonably priced ,fantastic service off 2 lovely staff and the fish and chips were the best we have tasted in years. Would highly recommend and will be returning on next visit.

I'm not a big chip shop fan AT ALL (mostly because of chips) but being limited to what is available at that time for a quick meal that will suit a little one me and my wife decided to give it a go. I had the spicy chicken burger and chips and the chips were absolutely delicious. The wife had a large haddock which I must say was cooked to perfection and again absolutely fantastic. I will definitely be visiting this chippy again when I'm in the area. The only thing that let the visit down was the noise of the stools being dragged on the floor in the small seating area.

Fish and Chips were pretty good, and up there with some of the best I've had. Fish was excellent, mushy peas were fantastic, chips were ok, a little undercooked for my liking. Would recommend and will definitely return if in the area.

Turned up with 18 scouts and they pulled off an amazing service and were kind and welcoming just what we needed after a day's water activities. Fish was outstanding. Short wait time for a lot of people.

Bells has been recently refurbished. It was Galleon but has changed hands and had a fantastic refurbishment. The service here is great. The portion sizes are perfect. The fish and chips were great, and I wouldn't go anywhere else while I'm local.

Lovely Fish & Chips. Great light batter on the fish. Get here early - you will queue. Queue moves quickly. Food is excellent and well worth waiting for. We both had fish, chips and mushy peas. Well worth the queuing. They do take credit cards. Free parking outside and nearby.

Only had the chips but they were superb. Not the cheapest but you're paying for quality. Looking forward to returning soon!

We have been here several times in the past when it was The Galleon. Never disappointed then but things have changed now, and not for the best! We made a point of going there today, 4:30 June 24th 2024. Specifically asked for Very, Very lightly battered fish and was told that all the fish was lightly battered. I took their word for it and ordered two fish and a large portion of chips, for which I was charged the princely sum of £17-20p. We were very disappointed! The fish was far from lightly battered, so much so that my wife left most of it, probably to disguise the fact that there was not a great deal of fish itself in it. I should have insisted on having it as I wanted it, after all, I was the paying customer! The chips were ok, but the meal overall was not worth the price paid. Needless to say, we will not be returning. A pity really as we have recommended it to several people in the past. If the owners read this review I would be interested in their response.

Not going to Lie... we had a small sausage and a portion of chips and they were THE best chips I have had in ages!!! And really good price for what you get. Would definitely recommend and will be going back next time we are in the area!!!

Found this place on Google, the staff were nice and friendly, however a little disappointed with the fish, the cod was nice but felt it was lacking abit with the batter, very thin batter and not much crispiness to it. The chips were lovely, I thought they were really nice. We did ask for salt and vinegar on everything, but I could barely taste it.

I usually LOVE this place. Ive raved about it alot over the years. Sadly my last visit on Saturday left alot to be desired. The food definitely wasn't up to it's usual standard. The chips were tasteless and the fish very thin, chewy and greasy. Even the gravy was cold and thick. I'm not sure what was going on as usually the food is top notch but this time it was awful. Staff were lovely as usual but food was very disappointing. EDITED TO ADD Yes it was the Rhos shop. I also want to add that we came again last week to see that the shop had had a refit. I was worried in case the staff had changed too. We saw they hadn't so popped in and took a chance with fish and chips. So glad we did as the meal was TOP NOTCH! 10/10. I'd go as far to say that they were the best fish and chips we've ever had!

You can generally tell a good chippy from an average one by the queue. Arrived to a queue which was outside the door and half way across the pavement. But despite that we were served and out of the exit back in the car in the time it took one of us to nip over the road for some beverages at the mini market. At which point, the queue was growing ever larger and spilling well out of the door down the street. Ate them facing the beach around the corner on a mild sunny evening on one of the benches - perfect location and the fish and chips were spot on, best we’ve had in some time and little was left over - the curry sauce as also very thick and better quality than the usual you get. Very easy recommendation.

Worth the wait! Fish was battered just right and was lovely and white. Chips were good. Would recommend.

What a great chip shop. Service was great, food was great and it's very reasonable. Got to be 1 of the beat in Conwy.

I was working in the area for a few days and got my food from here. First day, jumbo battered sausage, chips and gravy - sausage no better or worse than any number of chip shops in the UK; Chips nice with a bit of a crunch, though the vinegar wasn't very strong; Gravy was a granule mix as expected but it was nice and thick and tasty. Second day, cod and chips - nice freshly cooked cod and the chips consistent with the day before. Third day, haddock chips and cheese - nicest fish I've had for a long while, chips as previous days, cheese.... Well, it's cheese. Overall well worth 5 stars though I would like a bit more of a bite to the vinigar

Been refurbished over winter excellent job done .

On a 10 day trip to the UK and Bells was the best of all the places I ate from. It beat the best rated eateries in the area hands down for taste and value for money, so much so that I elected to eat from there again on my last night in the UK despite having my pick of anywhere to eat!

This was our first visit since the refurbishment and the quality of the food is as good as ever, and the staff are very helpful, it’s difficult to find a quality fish and chips these days and we can’t fault them, well worth a visit.

Very nice cod, perfectly cooked and good size, unfortunately let down by a very small portion of chips for the price. Nice mushy peas, but an average meal for a premium price. Just over £10 for the 3 items.

We stopped over on holiday and thought we’d try this place. The fish let itself down a little, I ordered cod and it was not a lot of fish content. The chips were okay and the mushy peas were good. She said it was £20 for the 2 meals and I paid by card but next day I looked on my bank account and it registered as £21.20. Can’t think why that happened.

Truly best fish and chips in North Wales. We do a 120 mile weekly treat trip just to go to Bells. Friendly efficient service, easy access to get to, location fabulous - especially with new beach front. Everything anyone could wish for. Perfect.

Google recommended this place while we were on our way back to the caravan. It was much smaller than expected, we had hoped it was more of a restaurant than takeaway but there still was a small area to sit which wasnt exactly comfortable but did the trick. Customer service was great but the price of the meals were more than I expected. £24.50 for fish, chips and peas with a bottle of water x2. Food was nice, but lacked a bit of seasoning and I didn't feel it warranted the price. All in all, not a bad fish and chip shop just not quite the best I've been too.

I have tried a lot of fish and chips, and this, by far, is the best, we are very lucky to have them on our doorstep .

Fancied a fish and chips whilst away on holiday. This takeaway is pretty much the only one I found open on a Monday and I'm glad it was because the food was lovely. Fish and chips were cooked fresh, not to greasy and a fair sized portion too. Had a kids fish for our pup and that in itself was a good sized fish. Would happily use again when we are in the area.

It's a shame the eat in part has closed the menu has changed I preferred the old menu the fish and chips delicious though.

Absolutely amazing chippy. Fantastic portion sizes and the quality was top notch. Hard to come by a proper chippy now and this was an absolute find! My lad had kids fish and chips too, which was a great size and would probably do most adults 😁 Will definitely be back next time I'm here. 👌

Fish looked very appetising but sadly lacked the meat in the majority of the fish and only a quarter of the fish was flakey and nice. The rest of the fish was thin and hard as it was overcooked due to having no thickness to the fish.

Great fish and chips and also scampi and chips. The Curry sauce is very good too.

High quality sausage and chips. Fish was a big greasy but overall really good. There were no large fish but the regular was big enough.

This must be the best chippie in North Wales . Fish are beautiful and white the batter is not too thick just right and the chips are crispy on the outside and soft inside absolutely delicious . Staff are very friendly and courteous. Highly recommended .

This place seems to have gone down hill chips very undercooked and holding on to the oil they are cooked in curry extremely watery and fish cake mushy and had a weird texture, used to really enjoy this place but it has honestly gone down hill
