The Fox Inn Hanwell in Ealing

Proper local boozer. Lots of staff, so never long to queue.

This was such a beautiful find on my group walk along the Grand Union Canal. What a beautiful quaint piece of history in the middle of the country. I didnt eat and noticed food prices were high but it was worth the stop off. Lovely atmosphere and friendly people too. Would visit again.

Starts of the beer festival. Lots of out door seating. Lots of choice of beer and cider. Lovely staff.

The food is (usually) good and the place is nice, but the pub is poorly managed. We used to like going there, but lately it had been a bit of a hit and miss. Last time we had a booking but they let us down with hours notice.

We went to the fox for lunch yesterday Easter Sunday, it was extremely busy, but even so the staff were very good, the food was beautiful I had the lamb there was plenty, we then sat in the outside area, which had heaters that were great, definitely will be returning

Great, quintessential English pub. Good food, excellent beer garden. Only issue was that it was a bit understaffed, so service was friendly, but slow.

Fake fish & chips, looks good until you cut into it.excessive batter small amount of fish. Kindergarten atmosphere kids running everywhere with their high pitched screaming. Parents couldn’t give a crap as long as they’ve got their G&T. This was 8pm , so if you want a quiet evening AVOID!

Good pub, friendly staff, can't go wrong

Great friendly pub, nice spacious beer garden, plenty of private areas as well so you can relax. Good choice of beers and other drinks as well, good food always as well

We visited as part of a family christening, food was really good, good selection of beers, great little atmosphere too, spent most of the time in the beer garden. Great little place.

Food is wonderful especially the roast on Sunday

Lovely pub, let down by the Sunday roast. Broccoli was stone cold and raw. There was only a splash of gravy and we had to get our own cutlery and condiments. A little disappointing seeing that it cost £55 for three of us.

Delicious fish and chips. Great atmosphere.

Absolute little gem of a pub. Great roast dinner (superb portion). Gravy was so good too. I will be returning if not for another roast dinner, a couple of drinks in the summer.

Absolutely love this pub, great food, atmosphere and service. The covered garden area is a fantastic place! Unfortunately, I feel terrible mentioning a negative about the best pub in Ealing, but, on my last visit to watch a Six Nations match I was completely underwhelmed by the awful picture on the garden projector. I appreciate this is not a sports pub, and that's a good thing in my opinion, but if you go to the effort of putting a screen and projector up, and advertise your showing the rugby, it needs to be watchable, we had good seats but the picture was so bad our group had to leave and watch the game elsewhere. 😢

Great comfort after a a long canal walk

Great pub by the canal, went in for lunch whilst on walk along the canal. Choice of at least three real ales, and 10 other beers on pump! Food choice was good and arrived quickly. Obviously a pub that is supported by a good attendance of locals and visitors. Well done!

Always a cosy place to have a pint, alone, or with friends! My fav local with most friendly stuff. And great beer. Good food too! We need more pubs like the Fox.

3rd time visiting, same story each time. Understaffed pub. Completely ignored each time. Very slow service if you are lucky enough to get any… Locals probably put up with it, or are treated differently. Why would somewhere that gets quite busy every weekend risk damaging a business in an industry in which it’s difficult to do well at the moment by not having enough enthusiastic personnel employed. Bizarre.

Lovely pub and staff. All the trimmings of the Sunday roast were delicious, particularly the garlicky broccoli. We asked for our roast beef to be rare, however it came medium well/ well done - my only criticism. Great place to spend your Sunday or any other day!

Love this place beautiful pub my late friend introduced me too. Was difficult due to memory of him. But the warmth and food amazing.

Had our group Christmas lunch here. They didn't have the wraps for the halloumi wraps and also didn't give us anything to replace nor dud they give any discount. Meeting everyone in our group was nice so full stars for atmosphere.

Nice place and worth the (not considerable nor vanishingly brief) walk from the station - or back to it. Cask was a little underwhelming (Proper Job and a couple of Timothy Taylor's + a Christmas special of some kind) but pleasant bar staff and interesting interior/exterior. Well worth a visit.

One of my favourite pubs. Always get a warm and friendly welcome from the staff . And the food is consistently good.

We had our Work Christmas Lunch today and we had a lovely afternoon at the Fox. It was nicely decorated giving that festive feeling. The food was delicious and it is a cosy family pub. This is our 2nd Christmas booking. Harj Diabetes Team

Nice place passed by on my bike ride for a cheeky pint and I approach a lovely atmosphere before greeting very nice people behind the bar beer was nice and not too badly priced would stay here all night if it didn’t close

The staff and food are always fantastic. Really relaxed atmosphere and parking free while while there. The natchos are just superb as a starter or main, but I just love the fish and chips, washed down with a lager..Too delicious 😋😋

Makeover of the garden bar is spot on. Outside bar and ablutions both welcome additions. Perfectly adequate pub food if somewhat lacking in inspiration and top selection of beers which are kept right. Very friendly staff also deserve a mention.

What a delightful, welcoming old pub that me and my mate stumbled upon whilst walking down the canal, full of character. Very friendly staff, great music on, it was just so inviting and relaxing. A variety of tables to sit at, all very comfy and homely. It's clear what pride the owners and staff take with The Fox Inn. A great selection of drinks and the lunch menu is great for an afternoon bite to eat. The hot chocolate totally surprised me, it was without a doubt the nicest one I've had at a pub before, better than most coffee shops! Can't wait to head back soon 😊

I had a Sunday roast at Fox today, and unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing. The chicken was very dry, the broccoli was undercooked, and the Yorkshire pudding was overly dry and crispy. My boyfriend tried the vegan burger, and it wasn't impressive either. The wait time was quite long, but we were told about this before so that’s ok . On a positive note, the service was lovely, and the location was nice.

I had one lousey experience... Over reacted when i should have booked ahead of time.... Fox is a Gr8 place to lunch and just pop in for a coffee and snack... Lovely efficient staff and fantastic hot nosh... I dig the Foxy Fox

Amazing food, drink and atmosphere

Can't fault this pub. The atmosphere is so nice, soon as we entered the outdoor seating area we felt a buzz, everyone was happy and on good spirits and lots of cute dogs around. The service is amazing and the staff are so friendly and polite. The food was delicious 😋 The grounds were kept nice and clean. Great pub.

First time here visiting my friend, went for a walk by the canals and stopped here for a bitw to eat. Lovely pub, perfect little local, the outside was buzzing but too loud for me, inside was nice, service was lovely, enjoyed our food. The chicken bites were delicious.

Our favourite pub in Hanwell — and that’s saying something! The food and drink are good but it’s the beautiful old building and its large, quiet beer garden that really impress. I can particularly recommend The Fox for hosting parties, we held a big event here and it went flawlessly thanks to the excellent staff.

My family and I visited The Fox in Hanwell for a Sunday roast and a few drinks. The food was incredible—delicious and generously portioned. The pub was bustling, which is no surprise given the excellent quality of both the food and drinks. The staff were attentive and friendly, making our experience even better.

i’ve yet to eat there, but this is one of THE most famous canal-side pubs in London. Because of its location, at the bottom of the Hanwell Flight, it is absolutely at the top of every boaters’ favourites list

Lovely old style pub with some wooden panels which were pleasing to the eye. Staff very pleasant and accommodating. Food was good and well presented. We had a delightful evening.

It is a great deal for me to go out to a place where i can eat with my dog. Specially when we face much discrimination (he is my assistance dog also) in must public places, but not in this pub thankfully, as it is dog friendly. Hence i keep this rating at 4 stars. It is also a great deal to me the places i choose to spend money and i hope that the management at this pub can improve the prediction of ketchup usage, so that there can be a constant availability of such a key condiment in the food industry. I am hoping that my frustration lowers in the next months and that i can revisit again, albeit next time i will check if there is ketchup before i order.

Beautiful little pub by the canal. Perfect for lunch before or after a nice walk. We had the Sunday roast and it was absolutely delicious. Even the veg were super tasty. Staff were very polite and friendly and happily fetch any sauces etc you might need (I asked for extra gravy and they were more than happy to being me a second jug 😀). Environment really cosy with traditional, interesting decor and pretty fairy lights at the windows. There is also a covered seating area outside under a marquee which looked lovely, though we didn't sit there. Seems to be dog friendly too (we don't have one but people next to us had one under the table) which is also fab for walks etc. Was our first visit, but certainly won't be out last ❤️

Such a lovely Sunday Roast, considering the weather we are having, it truly brightened up my day. To top it all off, the staff are exquisite.
