I have to say this was probably one of the best pubs I’ve been to in years. I came in with no expectations whatsoever - just a quiet night with my daughter chatting about how she was getting on at uni. I was firstly wowed by the menu …some really delicious choices. I went for the monkfish which was absolutely fabulous - all cooked from fresh. My daughter had the burger which she said was also amazing. The staff were so pleasant and friendly and there was a lovely fire to sit in front of with our dog. We had the best evening out. I’m going to come back with my octogenarian mum next time - I know she’ll love it too. Highly recommended.

We booked The Tithe Barn for a celebration of life event. This was booked at very short notice at just over a week. Katherine and the team did an amazing job. The food was excellent and plentiful, with plenty of choice for our 60 guests. The sausage rolls especially were a massive hit. Compliments to the chef! The room is just perfect for a private function and is easily accessible from the carpark which was a massive bonus for us as we had a few disabled guests. The projector is a really good addition which we used to display a short video of our loved one through the ages. A lovely tribute and surprise to our guests. Thank you so much everyone for making an emotional day so special. You guys deserve more than five stars and we will definitely use your services again for any future functions

Just an average British pub with slightly better decorations, people puking on the toilet and Native American looking dude running around like a madman on cookie. Clean your beer lines please LEVEL HEAD

We visited on a Friday night and the pub was busy but not many people were ordering food. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Ordered burgers which took around an hour to arrive. The burgers were standard pub food nothing special. The deserts were poor! we ordered 3 different puddings and all tasted as though they had been prepared for a few days and just reheated. Wetherspoons would have been cheaper and would have served better food.

The burgers were such a disappointment, spent £17.50 on the most plain, bland, dry burger that promised a sweet chilli bbq mayo. Where as you can see there was nothing, such a waste of money when In most pubs a burger like this can cost so much cheaper. I'm sure this isn't a choice the staff make but then the chefs need to provided way more to make this even close to worth the asking price. Saying it has a pretzel bun doesn't help, it was some how dry and then soggy after 2 bites! The patty (which is where I'm sure most the money went) was so dry, such a disappointing meal, those prices need to be cheaper or make them worth the money or there's no point eating here. I know this pub is actually a brand but I've been to green Kings before and never been scammed out of a burger this bad before, if anyone wants a meal while here, just eat before and get the chips, and the "safe options" was the biggest let down I've ever ate!

It was all wonderfully set up, but unfortunately, fewer people turned up than expected, which led to less of an atmosphere than I would have liked.

This visit was our second from last week, hoping for the same feeling of peasant dinning. What! a difference a week makes. Atmosphere poor. Cold, when asked if any music was able to be played, the answer was no"" our table for two was like in my elderly grammar house complete with sideboard to match. Service was poor we had not been asked if our meal was acceptable or enjoyable, our table was so wobbly it was a gift to any Halloween propp. It would appear the management team responsible on the day was enjoying the new staff on's last night's chat. Over all not good. And you guessed it. We will not be returning. Need more work on customer rather than complacency.

Had my wedding ceremony and reception at the ElmTree Saturday 19th October. I couldn't wait to leave this review. Firstly, the owners and all the staff at the ElmTree are absolutely top tier. They are the epitome of top quality service with friendliness and attentiveness that you'd want. Katherine has been amazing from start to finish with organising our special day. She has gone above and beyond to make sure it was stress free for us and she exceeded our expectations. Honestly Katherine you are a star and if we could rate higher than 5 stars we would. Communication from start to finish was impeccable. She helped with music, decor, setting up and setting down the room changes and was just an overall superstar. We had so many compliments on the food served at our reception (a gorgeous high quality freshly made buffet spread)and later on in the evening pizzas and pudding! Gluten and vegan options to make it fully inclusive to all dietary requirements. Hats off to the chef!! We took pizza back to our hotel because we couldn't leave it there to waste it was too good. The staff were on it with the drinks kept all guests happy and glasses full. Honestly if you have any event planned I highly recommend the elmtree and you are in the safest hands with Katherine and team. Thank you so much for making our day so special. We will be back before you know if for another delicious lunch (we highly recommend just popping in for a bite or a drink!). Hannah and Lee Jones

Lovely food, beautiful pub, good service and tasty mints

A massive thanks to Paul and the team. We were passing through in our motorhome. They allowed us to stay onsite overnight. The weather wasn’t the best but the bar warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly, the food was great and reasonably priced. We wil definitely stop here again and would recommend it to anyone 👌

I held my 60th birthday part here in September and I couldn't have wished for a better night! The ambience of the Barn was really lovely, intimate yet large enough to hold a significant number of guests (75 in my case, but it could hold plenty more). We had live music and it was the perfect venue. The food was top notch, the staff were friendly and helpful, and importantly there is plenty of room for parking. Katherine was always available in the run up for assistance, and was very accommodating. I would highly recommend this as a party venue, I looked at a fair few beforehand and I am certain that I made the right choice.

Went to a surprise retirement party. I had no idea the Elm had a function room It was lovely, with it's own bar and access to the pub through a corridor. Lovely atmosphere we all had an amazing time

Si Genaro's monthly Open Mic Night was an excellent evening of music. The cheese chips were nice so, a great night all around.

Nice pub, beer selection has improved. Nachos were disappointing. I'm not a fan of Greene King pubs and try to avoid them but I do like the Elm Tree.

Lovely afternoon spent in the garden listening to live music with friends and family. Delicious beef burgers, and chicken burgers and fries freshly cooked to order.Will be back soon!

Spur of the moment visit on a Tuesday lunchtime so take the atmosphere scoring with a pinch of salt. The menu is limited, made more so by both the steak and the veggi risotto being off but I think it is all cooked to order. We had an Elm Tree Burger and a chicken burger, both with chips and salad. The food was very good both in quality and value. Good table service for both drinks and food, good size car park too. Worth visiting!

We only used the tithe barn so cannot comment on the main pub. The barn was a lovely venue for our private party, the buffet was good as was the service. No play area for kids though.

Lovely local pub especially with all the recent renovations, amazing food & great selection of beers & wines. The entertainment is great too lots of variety & something for everyone. Staff are really friendly too 😁

We only went this time for live Music and Comedy ( in The Barn Attached); I say only, because we didn't eat BUT we all will return for a meal ( as the food looked VERY good ) . The Duo of Music instrumentalist and The Comedian / Impressist WAS ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!! and I mean EXCELLENT ..we were 4 ladies and we had a warm welcome from the Landlady and all the staff were pleasant. ..The pub has undergone some serious Renovation, outside looks amazing and a new Thatched roof and tweaks all over the place , to make this "A definite " on my list , to return more often. THANK YOU + they have a good Facebook page to follow too

Pub is good, however very disappointed with the food. Had a mushroom stroganoff, more rice than anything and kids burger was dry.

I have never seen a smaller portion of fish served on a plate! Avoid!

We had spent some time wondering at the country park and decided that we would have a late pub lunch / dinner - opting as we was passing, on the Elm Tree. A few pot holes getting into the car park, and the car park didn't seem too busy... which was promising for a table. When we got in, we ended up sitting in the bar area as opposed to the restaurant as it was fully booked - no surprise really last minute on a Sunday. The menu wasn't particularly clear about kids meals on a Sunday (it mentioned kids Sunday lunch not any others) this was clarified by the bar staff as they had 'small plates'... although kids meals (or small plates) are a shocking £10! (One had burger and chips, the other fish and chips). The wife and myself had roasts, which were pretty good - albeit ours came out towards the kids finishing theirs. Credit to the staff as we had a chap apologise there had been a mix up, and the manager (I assume) offered us a free drink at the end as well. Overall, it was OK, I was tempted to score 3 stars due to the meal and wait issue, but I was impressed that they acknowledged it without being prompted, so feel that 4 stars is justified. A bit quicker cleaning tables (I took bits off and gave them to bar when we got seated), some improvements to the menu (particularly for kids - and pricing for kids) and perhaps make the drive into parking a little smoother and then heading in right direction to the 5 stars...

Absolutely love the Elm Tree, we often come for Sunday lunch, the new owners are doing a super job and all of the undesirables have stopped coming. A great community pub. The events manager is a bit of looker too, I think she must take after her mother. The new scotch eggs are to die for

I was part of a large group who had all pre-ordered. In spite of this, our meals all arrived at different times, three of them after others had finished. The potatoes were overcooked and too hard to cut. My daughter had been told they could offer gluten free veggie sausages but on the day these weren't available. She doesn't like stuffed peppers, the only alternative, so had caulifliwer cheese, basically a plate of vegetables for £16.50. The desserts were disappointing.

We eat here regularly.. Sadly this week we were disappointed. Meat and veg were cool, plate cold, forgot roast potatoes too. Pub was cold. Quality of food great, staff friendly and happy.

Lovely pub, the staff are really friendly and attentive. We were served very quickly. The burger was okay, it could’ve had a bit more taste, possibly additional sauce and the chips were a little overcooked but that is probably personal preference! The humus was very tasty indeed and there was a great selection of drinks!

Booked this when our hotel restaurant let us down. Lovely thatched pub beautifully adorned with Christmas lights. Welcome was fantastic as was the food with very big portions. Could only manage ice cream for dessert as so full from the main course. Wonderful pub just wish I was local

Five of us girls planned a long walk from Burley specifically to go to The Elm Tree and it was absolutely brilliant. Incredible & delicious veggie options for all of us, the kindest landlady and hostesses, games, and a big roaring fire. LOVED it & will definitely be coming back.

Stopped in for lunch with a friend, great food, was the last really hot weekend so sat in the garden. Inside looked really quaint! Will definitely visit again

This little place is a gem! They were so accommodating! Helped me with a big booking last minute so we could see family we've not seen for 3 years. Cute pub, nice friendly atmosphere and the lady who served us was brilliant, thank you! The food was beautiful, only reason for 4 stars is there wasn't much choice but it was well cooked and tasty. Came to The Elmtree for Sunday lunch. Was my first real English Pub Lunch and it did not disappoint. Got myself a good old fashioned fish and chips. It was good, fish was well cooked and the batter was crunchy. Chips were fantastic, also tried vinegar on chips for the first time, interesting choice, but had to have it like a local. I recommend The Elmtree.

Had my baby shower here at The Elm Tree yesterday and the team couldn't have been more accommodating. My guests were hours late due to reasons out of anyone's control and we were able to stay in the room for longer than allocated to accommodate this. The food platters I'd ordered were custom to me and my guests and went down a treat. Katherine worked with me to ensure my baby shower would be everything I wanted, and was so accommodating with all the changes. Will use again for an event!

Awful food. Had the fish platter, deep thick greasy batter. The coleslaw was hot & the mayonnaise cooked where the platter had been sitting under a hot lamp for too long. The batter on some of the calamari was rock hard where it also had dried out under a hot lamp. The amount of garlic in the burger patty was extreme & inedible Consequently left 80% of the meal & left. Absolutely rank, never again !!!

Called in for dinner mid week, very limited menu! Hubby had Cod and Chips only to find when it came. The fish still had skin on, put him off his food straight away! I had a burger and asked for no bun, which came without the trimmings as per menu. We are staying locally for the week and we will find a different place to eat while in the area. Not our cup of tea! Even a young workman on the next table left half his meal and didn't stay. Lots of younger people calling in for drinks so good atmosphere and the Landlord is very pleasant.
