Called in last night after the Barnsley beer festival Paul the landlord very welcoming ,lovely premises,and a cracking pint of Old Mill Bitter

Great local pub, great friendly staff.

Brilliant real ale pub offering a couple of Old Mill Brewery beers in top form.

Great on match days you get served really quick

Called in after match. Had half hour to kill before my bus from stop outside so headed for toilet ( was desperate ) and was going to order a drink after. However, only managed to take two steps into pub before the gargoyle landlord leapt in front of me aggressively spewing bile about how I won't be using his toilet. Coupled with the fact that the time previous I went in he growled at my son to call him young lady. Will never step foot in here again. Backwards neanderthal springs to mind

Always visit here when travelling up to watch Peterborough United. A proper pub with a real sense of community. Really friendly welcome every time we visit. Ales are lovely and there is a good choice of drinks. Would highly recommend to any away fans visiting Barnsley.

The Best Sunday Dinner we had had in Barnsley. All Home Cooked. Generous portions. Help yourself new potatoes mash and vegetables. Gravy was Beaut. Puddings was gorgeous. Recommend book on phone.

Argyle on tour!! A chilly snowy day in Barnsley. We all met in The Dove. Super pub. Really welcoming for away fans. Even stood outside directing away fans on where to park ! Amazing. Good pint of Yorkshire bitter, excellent service considering it was so busy. Not far to the ground either. Full of hope for a good result....but we got stuffed!! Ah well....back to sunny Devon and the sea...

Went to The Dove Inn pre match I can definitely recommend a very friendly place good prices and the food is highly recommended.

Been today for the first time, Spot on, lovely staff and great food.

Exeter fan, drove up and came here for a pre-match pint and had homemade pie with gravy, and a chip butty on the side. Brilliant stuff, staff were friendly and seemed like a nice family run pub.

We came to The Dove Inn on the off chance of having a Sunday lunch. After checking they had space, they managed to book us in straight away. The food was beautiful, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. We definitely will be coming back!

Went for a carvery been a few times now go early they tight with meat nice but very small portion 2 roasters 1 Yorkshire pudding bit of stuffing the part boiled veg and lumpy gravey go later in the day still same with meat and you get what's left which they shouldn't let you have a carvery if they only got scrapping in bottom left disappointed again .

Cannot fault this place. Staff very good. Landlord brilliant. Entertainer I had booked cancelled very late on and he arranged another one. And he was good. It was a memorial party for my mother. Few people did not come and he was supportive of that as well. The food was superb. Three or four different pies. Family still raving about that. Cannot recommend this place enough. Big thank you to them all

We went to barnsley for an away game and saw the dove inn welcomed away supporters- they certainly did. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming we even went back after the match (and the landlord remembered our round) - top marks for a top pub 👍

Fantastic Sunday dinner and a nice pint

Not the best customer service we ever experienced. Just went in and spent a few minutes making ourselves comfortable looking for the food menu when somebody came to us saying we have to order drinks and not just stay in the pub without ordering. Of course we were about to order but that attitude had taken us aback and decided to leave straight away. I would not recommend less.

The carvery is fantastic, meat was gorgeous, thick gravy. Everything you could want from a carvery and good value!

Good choice of lagers but poor for beer choice. Plus side had a great stout on called Black Jack. Friendly attentive staff brilliant landlord can see why the regulars drink in this well presented pub.

Landlord has a disgusting attitude and said my wife looked like she had a couple of rounds with Mike Tyson.

Sunday lunch was delicious cant believe how much choice there was and proper yorshires and thick tasty gravy we would highly recommend you give this a try 10 x better than Toby carvery Great value for money 💰

Nice little pub with lovely staff.

Sunday dinners are gorgeous staff are polite,friendly and very helpful. They have a play area for children. It's an all round great atmosphere highly recommended.

Went to the Dove last night for the first 50th birthday party for our daughter. A really welcoming pub, fantastic staff and a brilliant atmosphere. The buffet had everything and there was certainly plenty to go round. A lovely night, thank you x

We visited the Dove Inn yesterday evening before the Barnsley Forest game. As away fans we were made to feel very welcome by the Landlord and Landlady good beer and good mix of people. It will be our first port of call when we play Barnsley away again

Visited the dove for Sunday carvery for the first time today. My goodness...it was delicious. The choice is amazing...our plates were very overloaded and the staff go that extra mile to add that personal, professional and welcoming touch that made our visit very comfortable and brilliant. A pleasant reception a nice young lady took myself and my partner to a table for 2,we were asked to go for our carvery which was well prepared and a treat to eat beautiful meal thanks to you all at the DOVE .😀😀😃

The landlord obviously does not want custom. He is an awful example of a human. If you are not local or he does not know you he turns nasty. Not worth the visit

Proper Barnsley FC pub,warm welcome and nice beer garden.

Went to a wake there. Staff were great, they put on a nice little buffet. Toilets clean.

Had to wait outside as there was no tables , people coming after us getting a table and then when we got in , 3 or 4 empty tables , trying to be right with pubs but they have to be right with us , don"t do bookings , be giving this place a miss for a bit , sorry

Only 1 real ale but a good one and staff really friendly. Couldn't ask for more.

Real ale pub. Always packed before a football match at BFC. Good selection of beers and a good pork pie. Overall a nice pub and usually stress free. Always come here when my team play at Barnsley.

I visited The Dove Inn before attending a football match at The Oakwell. The Beer is good and the pork pies delicious. A great place to visit for away fans.

What a little gem. Had Sunday carvery and was best I have had. We tried many places. The staff are excellent and they actually talk to you like they are happy you are here, unlike many establishments. It's very clean and the decor is modern. Surprisely the outside has a great upstairs and downstairs area. You can pay via debit card at the bar and get cash back. You have to pay cash for your carvery which isn't a problem with cash back. Minimum spend is a fiver for cash back. Give it a go, I can highly recommend the pub. My new home from now on. Excellent, I don't normally give good reviews but this place is excellent

I visited here on a pre-arranged football coach. From the off the Landlord and staff could not do enough for us. A good selection of quality real ale was available as well as some top scran in the form of various types of pie & peas. Very well kept pub with plenty of room and the toilets were spotless. Thank you all for your hospitality.

Beautiful home cooked food and lovely staff, I would definitely recommend. I took my family the other week and they all loved the food and atmosphere too.

A few of us travelled up to Barnsley leaving at 4am from Portsmouth for the game and arrived at this pub. The landlord was so kind enough to let us in out of the freezing temperatures. Food was laid on too for us. I personally thank him and his staff for accommodating us so well.

God food (great value of £7 for a carvery plus£3.50 for a sweet) Old Mill beer, and good company for St Peters Christmas lunch.

It plain it's simple it's honest. Roast Sunday dinner choice of 4 or 5 meats carvery. it does what it says on the tin.
