Nice pub but the Sunday roast is no longer despite being advertised on the website. The food fairly average not a patch on reviews of a while ago. Probably wait for new owners to roll in before you choose a meal here (it's currently up for sale). However a nice decor for a pint with a few nice ales.

I would seriously NEVER set foot in here again! The food I wouldn’t give to my dog, ordered a fillet steak it was like chewing on a leather handbag. Pizza and chicken was straight from Iceland. Service terrible from the older staff, rude and scruffy, male swearing at his till. Never been to a place like it in all my life! Terrible!!!!!

Look - if anyone watched the whole of the four in a bed week, you’ll see that although Stu and Ali definitely played the game …. So did the others. The fact that their place - which WAS clearly to anyone with a brain the best value place by a country mile were underpaid by all those other couples shows exactly what was going on. Those people from the Lake District underpaying by £15 because they couldn’t find a hairdryer (and didn’t even go an ask) was pure gamesmanship. I stayed at the dog inn recently, and it was damn good value in this day and age.

Popped in for an early lunch with our dog. The staff were very friendly and polite but the food wasn't good. I had the Lancashire lamb hotpot which, to be completely honest, was like pedigree chum with a few sliced potatoes in it. I was so disappointed but our dog loved every chunk.

The owners of this place clearly don’t realise they’re representing their business, no one cares if you’ve won four in bed due to being horrible people. Would go out of my way to never visit this place while they’re running it. Hope the business fails miserably going forward after displaying what you’re both like.

Nice friendly pub with food. Front of house is a normal pub with a couple of real ales. To the rear is a separate dining area. In summer the views over the Ribble valley must be superb but we were there in late Winter so could only see lights in the distance. The entrance to the car park is on a steep slope and the space between the buildings is a bit tight so take care manoeuvring up the slope when leaving. Staff are attentive and the food good. I had the cheese, onion and potato pie which is made on the premises. I don't normally say too much about food but this was particularly good. When it first comes you might think that the portion looks a little small. It isn't as it's very filling. The pastry is light and not too thick with the filling being a blend of several types of cheese cooked in chunks with sliced potatoes and onion. It was one of the nicest pies I've had for a long time. The others in our group were also pleased with their choices. The steak and ale pie looked really good with plenty of large pieces of steak. A good place to visit.

My friend and I went to the Dog Inn for lunch today. We booked online but there was enough space for people to come impromptu. I chose a lamb skewer with mint sauce, salad, corn on the cob, fries and coleslaw. My friend chose fish and chips. Both were extremely generous in their portions. If you’re hungry then this is the place to be. The view from the window was of the trough of Bowland as it’s surrounding countryside. I finished off my meal with apple crumble and ice cream which had toffee shards in- extremely tasty and very yummy. Thanks very much to the welcoming staff. We intend to come back.

Stayed here for a few days whilst visiting family - we had a lovely stay :) and whilst there, had a family meal to catch up over christmas. We all received such huge portions, all the food was delicious! We hated leaving bits but most couldnt finish their portions :) only thing was 2 of us received our puddings and was a little while before everyone else received theirs so 2 of us had already cleared our plates as the others received theirs - not the end of the world, we just had some envious family members awaiting theirs :) we also took advantage of the steak night offer - 2 steak meals and a bottle of wine for £40 :) i got to enjoy the fish butty and the landlady was correct, beautiful! Wish id remembered to take a photo! Cant wait to try the food again on our next trip to longridge :)

I did not need the sauce as the ribs fell off the bone with lots of flavour Mrs had the nachos.. ne er had nachos as fresh as these before. Sourcream finished the starter perfectly! For mains I had a tbone steak 600 grams worth... finished with corn on the cob that was cooked then chargriled.. First corn on the cob that was edible I ever had.. Rare to medium rare cooked spot on! Mrs had the chicken skewer wowsers a sight to see.. very juicy melt in the mouth pieces. Finished off with a waffle and ice cream. Great prices..Great rooms with lots of style.. Room available to stay in. Dog friendly building. Parking available on the same street. It's a Brilliant experience for us both and will be going back there as soon as possible. The food was good, my pork chop was cooked to perfection. The only reason I have not given the food 5 Stars, is because, the battered fish, although very tasty, had been left too long before serving and as such the batter was no longer crispy. Will definitely revisit.

Absolutely gorgeous place. Was in the area after visiting friends and decided to give this place a try and I'm so glad we did. Staff were fantastic and friendly, happy to help and give recommendations. Starters: I had Nachos which were lovely and crispy and generousl loaded with cheese, salsa, guacamole and sour cream Hubby to be had BBQ ribs which he said were some of the best he's had .. I had a bite of one and can confirm they were bloody good ribs. Mains: I had the hanging chicken skewer.. wow the chicken was so succulent it slid of the skewer with ease, seasoned beautifully and came with chips and salad that had a lovely fresh dressing on it. Hubby to be had tbone steak... It was massive, with Diane sauce. He asked for rare to medium rare and if was cooked just right. Some how I managed to fit in a dessert which was Belgian waffle with ice-cream and chocolate sauce Perfect end to a beautiful meal If you are in the area and looking for some to eat I'd highly recommend this place

Sat down ordered our drinks, then all we could overhear was a red headed member of staff, (actually the ovener), slag off a previous customer this not very professional from the owner, this does not set a good example to other staff. Obviously this was not done privately as other customers overheard. This was whilst wiping the floor with a dirty rag that was similar to which other staff were cleaning the tables with. Thank you for the clarification that the cloths you clean tables with are the same you use to wipe the floor with. Sorry I am unable to understand your reply, is it possible you are able to translate into English?

Although the food was nice and at a decent price the service wasn't the best as we had to wait 15-20 for our prebooked table, never offered drinks at the table when we had empty glasses so we had to ask. Wasn't offered if anything else is needed (sauces or drinks) when the food arrived. Only after the meal we was checked on to see if everything was okay. I would go back as the food and price is decent although one of the mains looked like it should of been a starter (chicken in the basket) and not waiting along time for the food. Has a large car park at the back but I wouldn't be rushing back due to the service.

I visited this local pub with family. I advised the waitress that I had allergies and she assured me this was ok. She returned later to say that the chef will only serve me if I have an epi pen on me. I confirmed. The chef then later came out to say that they aren't prepared to serve me as it is the end of the week, they would need to wipe down the kitchen and they cant guarantee the ingredients on a Sunday. I felt hugely discriminated against. My young child was starving at this point and we were unable to get into any other restaurant. Most places would offer a different option if they couldn't prepare the meal id ordered. The restaurant wasnt even that busy. It does beg the question what state the kitchen was in if they couldn't offer me anything at all. P.S we were still charged for our drinks (ordered beforehand). AVOID IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES!

The owner (pictured below) is one of the rudest men I've ever come across (and I've come across my fair share of men). His lack of knowledge in the pub trade is matched only by his lack of decorum! He rang the last orders bell at approx 8:00 pm on bank holiday Sunday and told several loyal patrons who where confused at such an early closure why? And also told them they were out of order and threatened them with disbarment! He then saw a large christening party entering his establishment and decided to extend his hours extensively. Never once offering apology to the offended party, he only saw dollar signs in his eyes!

Honestly very disappointing. Lovely decor, friendly staff. Food was very poor. Cheese and onion pie plate consisted of oven chips, tinned mushy peas and a pie from a chip shop, Hollands at a guess, and warmed up in a microwave. I'm not kidding. Sunday roast was tasteless and inconsistent. The cauliflower cheese hadn't seen any cheese and had no flavour at all. The toasties were just about cooked. The broccoli was not even Al dente, I couldn't dig my fork in it. However the chicken was excellent, as was the Yorkshire pudding. I don't understand how a they can cook the two most difficult parts the best and everything else unacceptable. Both dishes were served with gravy that was no more than brown water, come on guys how hard is it to make gravy! I apologise to the owners, we didn't complain at the time, staff were nice and we couldn't make them feel bad with a list of issues. However I plead you to actually try the food you are selling. This is Wetherspoons quality with gastro pub prices, no effort made whatsoever.
