The Crispy Cod in Ballymena

Excellent chips albeit a small enought portion for a large, battered sausage was not crispy in the slightest tho and didn’t even come with a few chips. No card transactions under £5 but no signs to say this. Lady was fairly rude too.

A.very busy and Popular chippy. For my money it's food is distinctly avg however to fair I seem to be in the minority. Expect to get your food 30 mins after ordering.

Terrible service. Phoned up and pre ordered, was told it would be ready in 15 mins, I waited nearly an hour! When I got home and opened the order it was wrong! I ordered sausage supper, breast of chicken and chips. I got sliced chicken and onion rings! I phoned up to complain and was told I only ordered a sausage supper and never ordered breast of chicken! I paid £25 and a sausage supper doesn’t cost £25!

Ordered a chicken so called kebab. O my god how disgusting. Obviously frozen over cooked chicken. Unlike most people I know what the word kebab means and unfortunately this was not a kebab. I would say in fairness that ballymena people will eat s1ht if there is a massive pile of it. Massively over cooked chicken is not for me.

Very tasty food good quality for your money

Just visited The Crispy Cod as Paul the owner suggested we give them a try. We are from Yorkshire, arguably the best Fish n Chips in the UK. We had Cod n Chips and of course Mushy Peas. Well Paul we were definately not disappointed, they were every bit as good as Yorkshire's finest. Evident was the high quality Icelandic Cod and Maris Piper Chips all cooked fresh. We will certainly be back again. Well worth the long drive to get them.

Ate here on two occasions - fish was of good quality however batter was very thick and very greasy. Would not recommend, however have not tried other options on the menu which may be of better quality!

Top quality food , best in the Ahoghill area 😁 now I've found a local chippy that I enjoy very much 😁 staff is also very pleasant!

On our way home from Ballymena we were all feeling peckish so popped in here,it’s been a while since we’ve tried it but it never disappoints,fish was tasty and not dripping in grease,cheeseburger very nice and chips were spot on..

We were on holiday in the area staying in a local hotel on the 29th August 2019 which was unable to give us a table to 9.30pm as this was to late for us to eat we went into Ballymena and stumbled on this little gem. We observed how clean it was and the high quality spec of the equipment and were happy enough to place an order. We ordered fish it was absolutely delicious as were the chips and french fried onions. The food was reasonably priced, the staff were efficient and friendly. .We can certainly recommend Crispy Cod to everyone in Ballymena and to anyone visiting the town.

Stood for ages as they forgot about my order whilst customers went past me not happy at all had to ask did they forget about me my burger is rock hard

Great wee chippy, my go to I haven't had a bad food experience to date always well pleased made the mistake of going to another nearby chippy yesterday evening and was disappointed far from the quality and quantity that u receive from crispy cod.

Generally a very good chippy and first choice go to for my partner and I. Good location. Cash only! But cash machine just outside a couple units down the street. Decent portions and moderately priced. Friendly staff! A busy place so can sometimes be 30-40 min wait from ordering on likes of Saturday night. Best gravy chip around!

Woo the portion was huge we had the mixed Donner kebab it was really tasty ordered chips to go with but really didn’t need them feeling stuffed but very happy

I visit this Carry Out often and their fish and chips are delicious. The fish is cooked from fresh and we can see it being prepared.

I have visited this chip shop on a number of occasions and each time I get annoyed at the staff attitude. There are no smiles or welcomes and if there is anything wrong with you order, their attitude is rude and condescending and the wrong is never on their part! I have witnessed this with my own orders and others. I have been a number of times due to visiting friends but I have now stopped going to this chip shop as I get so annoyed at the customer service. Food is just ok.

Had a selection of foods from fish, burgers, sausages, onion rings and chips and all where good, no complaints from a few normally fussy eaters

Visit the Crispy Cod frequently and am always pleased with my food. The staff and service are excellent, the food exceptionally good. In my opinion easily the best place for take away food in the Ballymena Area.

The food you get from this chippy terrorises your insides, The food is so greasy it is nearly impossible to eat. The staff don't care about how they cook their food.

Muy limpio, bien atendida y razonable relación calidad-precio y buen aparcamiento. Un poco de cola pero que demuestra lo popular que es. my title is probably a bold statement but i have ate in probably all the chippies in Ballymena these guys give me what i ask for every time with no mistakes, i have never had a bad meal and i eat here regularly you may have to wait a little bit sometimes for your food but this is quite a popular chippy so bear that in mind the staff can sometimes be hit and miss though one of the girls and the lads are a little bit of a attitude that they don't want to b there but there young and haven't we all felt like that ?

Best Chippy in the Ballymena area, would recommend the Sliced Chicken and Chips with House sauce, everything else is brilliant on he menu but this is only my favourite 😊

Ordered their chicken special, which includes side salad. Was asked if I wanted the salad and I said just the onions, and asked for them to be fried. When I checked my bill they had charged me for fried onions! I asked why and was told that that's what they do if you want your onions fried - even on a burger! The attitude of staff was that they couldn't care less. No other place I know of charges extra to fry your onions, there are no signs saying this is an extra cost, and nobody told me it was extra. How many people are getting charged extra without knowing? I feel that this is wrong, and as a result won't be back and cannot recommend this chip shop.

what exactly can I say about your basic chippy? I find the staff in here to be extremely rude. the food isn't that great. I don't think I would be back any time soon.

The first thing that I noticed was how clean the takeaway was,brightly lit with a simple not over the top menu.but I was here for one thing the cod,and boy it didn't disappoint real large thick cod fillets in a really flakey yummy batter,this is what fish and chips is all about.The chips where we'll cooked,tasty and crunchy,the proper way,the only down point was the onion rings ,tasteless,and saturated in oil.But the fish was outstanding.

This is a good wee chippy, has a good choice of meals at reasonable value. Staff are usually friendly and food is served quickly. Overall very good
