We presented ourselves at 18h45 for diner and were offered a table at 7h15. Once we came back the manager decided we were pushed back at 08h30! Giving no reason ans telling us they didn’t care this was too late. Had to rush and find somewhere else.

Just wanted to stop for some coffee in the bar/restaurant since a sign with "food and drink all day" was up. The staff told us the bar was closed until 11am 🤷 they were very unwelcoming and unfriendly. Go to the next city for some coffee, you won't miss anything

An old, large but pleasant hotel - perfect as an overnight stop if heading to the north of Scotland but also as a base for visiting Glencoe, East to Loch Tay and the Trossachs or south to Loch Lomond. Travelling north we were given a lovely modern large room, near the lift, with plenty of room for a wheelchair. It had a smart modern bathroom, a large very comfortable bed, TV and tea and coffee making facilites. However travelling south on our return journey the room was very different - down long narrow corridors and a steep ramp. The room was small, less attractive with an overpowering smell of mould which was round the main window and all round the bathroom. Food is basically pub grub but the restaurant is large and very pleasant with log fires, and friendly staff. Breakfast is very good with a wide range and is served in a different also large and attractive room. Parking is limited for such a large hotel and mostly across the busy road.

Lovely staff, gorgeous restaurant, lounge and bar area. Great options for drinks and food. Usual breakfast continental and then a hot menu. Not much to do in the area but we knew this already from walking trips. The room let the overall rating down as it was not cleaned properly (dust, dirty skirtings, peeling wallpaper) and mould on the windows, blinds, shower, walls around windows with the main room window letting a bad draft in/water and the shower room window was cracked from the outside.

I had an amazing stay at Best Western The Crianlaich in the Highlands! From the moment I arrived, the service was outstanding – the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The rooms were spotless, cozy, and provided a perfect blend of comfort and charm that made it feel like a home away from home. The food was a real highlight – from breakfast to dinner, everything was fresh and delicious, with plenty of options to suit all tastes. The views surrounding the hotel were breathtaking, making it a wonderful retreat for anyone looking to experience the beauty of the Highlands. I can't recommend this place enough and will definitely be coming back!

Dismal. The window won't open as it's nailed shut. Room was stuffy and the presence of mould around it indicates that this is not a new problem. Staff were apologetic but useless. I stay in a lot of hotels in my line of work, especially in Scotland... but this is a new low. I don't know how much the room was as it was booked by my employer.. but apparently they sting you up to £178 for this experience.

We stopped yesterday by this hotel to buy some food for dinner as we were passing by. We got halloumi burger and goat cheese pizza. We paid around £50. The burger bun was old and not fresh and the goat cheese pizza we barely tasted the goat cheese. Not to mentioned the service we received. I was going to order first a chicken burger and when I asked the lady “ is the chicken local/ fresh ?” She replied “ I am sure didnt catch the chicken” she was sooo rude and the people there weren’t welcoming. Very unsatisfied and we are not going to eat there from there or stay ever again!

Ghastly western... Please AVOID this terrible hotel.. Please.. You will thank me for it... But you don't need to... I have been on a road trip to the Outer Hebrides over the past two weeks. I've stayed in many hotels, hostels and camping and I can honestly say, that this was the worst hotel..there was no fan as it didn't have a plug on it.. What!?!?!? The shower dripped all night, the decor was from the 1920s.. nothing wrong with the 1920s... If it WAS the 1920s!! The chicken salad was revolting... The worst I've ever had!! Service was okay.. The best of all.. But honestly..I could go on and on...I won't because I don't have the time.. But please guys, girls, one and all... Please avoid this hotel.. Oh.. it is also over priced! Before you think that I moan for a living, I have stayed in many many hotels/hostels/Pods/Airbnb and really enjoyed all.. And I'm on a road trip.. This was the worst.. Please.. Just... AVOID.. drive further down to that next hotel.. Or get a tent and camp... It'll be cheaper and you'll be much, much better off. ... Wish I took photos but I was in such a rush to get out of there..!

We’ve booked 2 rooms here as we’ve been here a couple of years ago and had great experience then. Turned out that not all of the rooms are renovated. One of the bedroom was authentic and cosy, while the other looked like it hasn’t been touched since 80s’. The contrast was enormous. It was clean, but 40 years of wear and tear is not appealing. Stayed 5 minutes this time and left. The receptionist was super professional.

The room we had was very small with a very narrow double bed. The bathroom was small and an (old) leak was clearly visible in the paneling of the bathtub. The "continental" breakfast buffet is nothing, the breakfast dishes that you can order from the menu are tasty, but there is no healthy choice. Dinner in the restaurant was very tasty, and there were healthier options available. The staff is friendly. The location is central and it is an excellent base for, among others, Loch Lomond and Glen Coe.

Very nice hotel. A good pint served by very good bar staff. 3 front=of-house staff seemed a bit more off-hand when we arrived. Not a big deal, but we asked wher ethe bar was, they broke off their conversation for a moment to tell us and then went back to talking - nobody got up and offered to show us through. That was a bit disappointing given this hotel is quite empty off season so the front of house perhaps need training in welcoming guests. That being said, based on what I saw, I would be happy to stay here to try it out properly - so may come back if walking in area.

Probably one of the worst meals we've ever had on one of our bike tours. The service was shockingly slow, so much so that we noticed some dinner guests just walk out. Our group of 8 had booked for dinner a few weeks in advance, but the staff were struggling to coordinate any orders & some of us were served 40 mins after the first orders came out. I mentioned to the waiting staff that the delays were noticeable & it was embarrassing - the manager's response was that they were short staffed - I said that they should have told us that there would be a 30 minute wait for orders & we would have been prepared. They thanked us for the feedback - isn't that basic hospitality training or etiquette? We found 2 or 3 meals to be bland, when they should have been spicy. Try the pub about 300 yards up the road - that was fantastic.

We were staying nearby and decided take away pizza was a good idea. Sadly it wasnt. 1. Online information incorrect - prices charged were the restaurant prices - When challenged - the staff said " oh thats wrong online, always is" 2. When asked it they were doing pizza tonight- " we are a bit busy, let me ask kitchen". I identified that if they were,I needed to know as local shop closing in 15 mins. I was told it would be 15-20 mins 3. 35 mins later and local shop now shut, my food arrived. 20 potato wedges for £3.50 and not warm. pizzas flatter than roadkill . The image does not really show how flat it was. 4. also while waiting in bar, listening to the guests complaining about their rooms too. No evidence of management - saw three young ladies barely out of school, if they were. So got home, having spent £50 on 3 pizzas and 20 wedges- it wasnt an enjoyable dinner. The images of the pizza on this listing bear no resemblance to what i got. I should have driven to Glasgow for an hour to get a dominos. Dont eat here.

The dining room is a bit cavernous, but we were served competently and in a timely fashion … we were advised to arrive at our booked time, because of limited staff resources. This was a story we had heard throughout Scotland and the Isles. However, we had a correct sirloin steak, with trimmings, and a good choice of wines by the glass. I’d happily eat there again.

We had pre-booked a table for 9 a few weeks in advance. We sat down at 8pm but noticed the service was pretty slow & a couple of customers seemed to be getting a little frustrated about the delay in being served. When our orders were taken we were told that there was not chicken, so a few things weren't available. Some of our main courses didn't arrive until 10pm, with about a 10-15 minute gap between some of us being served. The venison didn't come with a jus as advertised, but peppercorn sauce (the person who ordered hadn't been asked about an alternate) & the potato roost was hard. The homemade beef pie had a massive puff pastry top, but very little beef in the 4 portions ordered. The chilli con carne was very bland & inedible. We mentioned the problems with the waiting staff & were advised that 2 staff hadn't turned up in the morning & they had problems in the kitchen. We told the waiter that we should have been informed about a likely wait when we ordered (managed our expectations), but the poor quality of the food is another matter. The manageress knocked the cost of the chilli from the bill, but we had one member of our party who hadn't eaten! Other customers were also expressing their disappointment, so all in all, not a place we would return to or recommend.

The restaurant staff were fabulous. We were well looked after by Kristen who was very pleasant and friendly. The male waiter was also very good, friendly and efficient. The only reason I dropped a star was the fact that our room was freezing when we arrived and although the receptionist adjusted it, the radiator didn't get warm until about 9 in the evening. The helpful lady on reception did put a portable heater in our room so we couldn't ask for better service. Overall a lovely stay.

arrived here after a very long and soggy leg of the WHW eagerly looking forward to a little luxury, how wrong we were! Our room was small, dark and very cold, there were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and after several attempts with the thermostat we were unable to get the heating to work. After some time we were given a small plug in radiator, which was completely inadequate. We showered to get warm and headed to the restaurant hopeful of a nice warm meal to compensate. Again, how wrong we were, we were greeted by a waiter who calmly informed us of what amounted to over a 1/3 of the menu that wasn't available including any pizzas despite there being a huge sign outside claiming there excellence. When I enquired why there was such a limited menu, I was met with a very curt and rude response. My vegetarian chilli was entirely tasteless disguised by an enthusiastic amount of chilli heat and the accompaniment of Nacho's was replaced with Naan? On a positive note, the veggie breakfast was very tasteful and the complimentary drying room, complete with newspapers for our wet boots was a real bonus and the reason that I gave 2 stars and not 1.

Not having planned particularly well, we were glad to find The Crianlarich at just the right time in our journey. The dining room was more or less empty, a quiet lunchtime in late December. Despite that, it was warm & welcoming (decor a little bit “classic highland”, stuffed animals et al). Kids had pizza, and were very approving (slightly thicker bases than they’re used to). Grownups had soups and fish (the latter being especially good). All was served really quickly, but very obviously freshly cooked. We wanted a quick and delicious stop on a long journey, and this fitted the bill very well.

Waitress and manager arrived to advise we could sit there. Why ? It was a table for 4 of course . Not reserved for anyone in particular but they wanted to keep it free in case a hungry foursome arrived some time soon. But the place is practically empty. Shrug. What about the couples at the other window tables - one of whom has just paid the bill. “They sat down before we could stop them.” Pythonesque but not funny.

The breakfast was my favourite part and had fresh pastries as well as all the other essentials. Within a 5 mins walking distance to wee shop and local pub was a bit further along the road. Friendly locals and a stunning setting as we set off in the morning on our walk. Probably stay here again.

Went for a family dinner drawn in by the kids spotting the big neon Pizza sign outside. The 3 kids have pizza more often than I would care to admit but none finished them which says enough. I tasted it myself and the tomato base seemed more like a puree than a pasata and was very strongly flavoured which overpowered the pizza. Perhaps the chef was over thinking the pizza when a simple sauce would be better. A real shame as the steak pie the adults both had was pretty good.

There were not many customers at the time but the service was quite slow. Menu had some good choices but the food was just mediocre.

We were traveling from Fort William to Stirling in a cold rain. This was a charming stop for warm food. The interior was pleasant and cozy. We had steak pie, beef shin, soups and sandwiches. All were good.

From the moment we walked in soaked to the bone we were made feel welcome and treated with utmost respect. We went back for dinner and the expert service from Mary made the delicious food even more appetising.

Nice friendly service and good food after a long day. My friends had pizza, both looked yummy. I had fish and chips, the fillet of fish had been halved and I was only given 1/2! I was very hungry and could have easily eaten the other piece!

This was a good stop for us on the way back from hiking up Ben More. We were a little early but the staff were very accomodating in preparing a few takeaway pizzas for us. The pizzas were a quality and the selection with local ingredients combined made some great flavours.

Lovely room and hotel! Scenery amazing. Food was great and staff were very friendly. Only thing I'd do if I came back would be a room at rear of building. The road outside can be busy and a bit noisy.

What can I say, perfect service by Milda and the food was really good with bigger than average portions. We ate in the hotel both nights we stayed which is unusual as we normally eat out. It felt there was no need.

We have spent a fantastic weekend at CRIANLARICH HOTEL the check in was simple the room was big and very clean it looked like the hotel has had a make over as the heating looks very modern and very easy to use the corridor have all very new LED lighting and very bright and clean. We had dinner on our first night the restaurant was lovely the staff very nice indeed the food was excellent,so much so we decided to book for another meal on our second night. This is a great location as GLENCOE is just just 30 miles away stunning scenery and plenty to do. the hotel also has a " drying room" if you get caught out in the weather which is a great idea. And a bus stop is right outside the hotel so you can get there by bus very easily. I would imagine this hotel will book up very quickly in summertime as the location is superb........ This is WELL WORTH A VISIT, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

We visited as a party of 10 for the Murder Mystery weekend. The menu as you would expect was fairly restricted but the food was good, The duo of Salmon was very pleasant the chicken main was fine and a good size portion and the cheese pleasantly was not straight out of the fridge.

Rather like the previous restaurant I reviewed nothing disappointed but nothing shone. Service could have been a bit more attentive and food was good: Cullen Skink and a salmon Caesar. The Caesar was enormous and had whole pieces of garlic - that was a first for me!

The Crianlarich was fantastic from start to finish. Deborah at the reception desk was very helpful, the room was lovely and the hotel overall was perfect. The bar staff were a great laugh and the servers during dinner were very professional. Kenny the manager was fantastic. I can't fault the place in the slightest.

Great staff, helpful and a surprisingly good menu, after being somewhat disappointed with reception, the room and the beer, we were really pleased with our evening meal experience.

As a business traveller, I have stayed in many hotels of all price ranges across the north and west of Scotland. My recent stay at Crianlarich certainly is a stand out. A small but great team - quick check in, friendly bar service and both dinner and breakfast service was exceptional and very tasty. My room was one of the recently reburbished and it was incredibly comfortable - high quality linens, comfy bed and nice shower (fluffy towels!) It’s important for me to have good WiFi service for work purposes and I was able to connect easily and had good and consistent signal strength. Will definitely stay again and highly recommend.

4th visit to this hotel for dinner very disappointed this time ordered prawns in pip oil but it was served in a sweet chilli sauce. 2 people ordered the veg curry with prawns no veg and more like a soup. The rest of us ordered steaks not given steak knives to use. I ordered the shortbread dessert more cream than anything else. Ordered Brandeis not in brandy glasses ordered port served in half pint tumblers. Felt sorry for the staff who had to face the customers with what they had.

Toppings were decent, pizza dough was not We ordered takeaway here, but were not terribly impressed. They had a pretty good range of toppings, even if it did result in the monstrosity my wife ordered of calamari margherita (don't ask...). The cheese was cheesey, the sauce was saucey, all good things. However where this place fell down was the pizza base. Little to no flavour, texture, gluten development or anything, and the dough wasn't fully cooked in places.

We enjoyed great pizzas and welcoming staff, The service was really quick and Domino's had reasonable prices. We would recommend this takeaway very much.
