Four of us had lunch here yesterday. Atmosphere and setting is fab. Food was tasty. The only grip is that two of us had the Sandwich of the day which was chorizo, roasted peppers and onion jam. It was probably the meanest sandwich I have ever had. The paltry filling made it quite sad. This was disappointing. Also, staff got the original order wrong.

Oh this was brilliant. Pushing the buttons for all the different little wines was so much fun! Lovely charcuterie board as well. Service was lovely - accidentally pushed the wrong button and missed my wine but staff were so lovely with helping me out. Hostess was super friendly explaining how it all worked. Would have loved something I could take back to the table to explain tasting notes but still a great experience. Dog friendly, mellow vibe, wear layers - the heaters try hard but struggle on a chilly day.

The wine merchant sold me a £33 for a Margaux I'd only pay £10 MAX for! I bought 6 bottles and nothing was worth it frankly. I was very dissatisfied and will not go there again.

We have been visiting this restaurant for years since it opened. Please can I convey this message to the owner as I feel you need to realise how poor our experience was, recently. We have enjoyed several meals over the years however of late, we had a disappointing visit. First of all, we asked for a table for 2 and my wife placed her handbag on a chair within an adjacent table given she did not wish to place her handbag on the floor. There were 4 empty adjacent tables and she was advised to remove it as the tables may be needed. I can understand if a client arrived, we would have been happy to remove it immediately. How was this an immediate issue? We then ordered the beef tacos. I like decent seasoning however the dish was so salty, I could not bear the taste. It was unbearable and simply inedible. We were offered an alternative, ie chicken wings. They came out undercooked, pale, with a poor honey and chilli coating with little flavour. We then had our chicken Caesar salad. My interpretation of a Caesar salad is crisp lettuce, croutons, flavoured chicken, bacon lardons and Parmesan shavings with a tasty dressing. The dish came out with all ingredients ‘mushed’ together. Everything was grated together and the consistency was so wet and needless to say difficult to eat. My wife couldn’t bear the look of the dish. Possibly the chefs interpretation was to his liking however not for the average client I feel. Whilst the meal was so disappointing, we then visited the wine shop where we have regularly purchased our wine in the past. We asked about a specific white wine however it was not available. Rather than suggest alternatives, the colleague on duty had no intention of offering us a substitute or recommendation! We walked out clearly disappointed. We have a few friends that regularly eat and purchase wines in your establishment, however we have conveyed our dissatisfaction with them. I beg you as a proprietor to please take some positive steps to turn this around. We will never return, sadly. A concerned customer

Apparently, the place gets a bad reputation due to a manager called Rachel. I moved to the area a few months ago and have been here four times and really enjoyed each one of them. It's great value for money, particularly with their £1 corkage fee on certain days of the week. The service was also good, and the atmosphere was great.

Got worse over the years. Food menu needs to go ASAP. Fine for drinks and seating but nothing else.

Did not have any food at this time but only a couple of glasses of wine. However, the waiting staff were mostly confused and inattentive. We asked a question regarding an ingredient in a dish we wanted to order but no explanation was offered. Several waiters came to take orders at different times, after it took us twenty minutes to catch their attention. And even after this, drinks took another fifteen minutes to come. Confused staff

Came to Belfast for work and had dinner her with some colleagues whilst doing some wine tasting. The food was amazing with a great selection, service was quick and the place had a lovely warmth about it. Shocked to see such low reviews if I'm honest!

Staff were really friendly and attentive. We got a cheese board, bread platter and the wine only had a £1 corkage fee which was great. We’ll definitely be back!

Such an unpleasant experience. Staff are rude and unapologetic. Food isn't great and over priced. We tried the tasting wine and it was £7.40 for 125ml of wine, 2 mouthfuls and it was gone. Noone available to go through the wines with you either. The whole experience was a let down. We won't be back.

First time visit to the tasting room for some wine on the terrace on a sunny evening. Keith took the time to talk us through all 32 wines, with an impressive knowledge of each and every one. We thoroughly enjoyed his personalised recommendations and will absolutely be back!

Rudest waitress and the food was awful. Nothing redeemable about it other than the room decor.

So much potential ruined by nasty staff. The only word for the service in this place is ABYSMAL. I visited with my mother who had travelled 1.5 hours to Belfast, with visiting the crafty vintner as the main plan for her birthday. The waitress, who we later discovered was the MANAGER (female, brown hair, roughly aged 25-30) was not welcoming on arrival, and when asked how the wine tasting taps worked, no explanation was provided other than “you get a card over there”. Another waitress (young, blonde hair) took our order via memory rather than write it down so 1 dish was forgotten and took a further 30 mins to arrive after we had to ask where it was. The polenta wedges are detailed on the menu to be accompanied by “artichoke, spinach and salsa vierge”. The THREE polenta wedges came with sweet corn and green leaf. We then ordered a cocktail with the MANAGER who along with the 2 other staff working spent the time after this chatting and ignoring the customers. 25 minutes had passed and I walked up to the bar and said to the manager “we ordered a drink with yourself 25 minutes ago” and her response was “the passion fruit cocktail?” so she knew we were waiting for it, but didn’t make it? I said yes, but asked for it to be removed from the bill as we then decided to leave. Her response was “ok”. My mother then asked the blonde waitress to speak to the manager (at this time we did not know it was the woman who had been very unhelpful and rude to us all evening). She refused to come to our table. We then asked the blonde waitress again. The manager then came over around 30 minutes later with the bill (this details the server to be Rachel however this could be either the manager or the waitress). We explained to her about the missing mocktail, the polenta, and the forgotten dish. She looked at us blankly as if to say “so? and what?” She didn’t respond, just stared ignorantly. NO APOLOGY was given at all. She actually then responded with “ammm, if I’m correct the dish actually did arrive??” Yes we said, but the cocktail never did. She then said “well I took that off the bill so..”. To this i responded “well did you not want to bring us the cocktail?” And she sniggered and said “mmm no aha, that’s not how it works”. Mistakes happen when busy, but this was a Thurs night with no more than 20 customers. Her tone was snarky, accusatory and plain rude. I’m pretty sure in other places the staff are supposed to check in on you and take your orders, ensuring you’re enjoying your time. This doesn’t happen here- they don’t even acknowledge you’re there nevermind make your drinks. What is going on at the Crafty Vintner?! We were looking forward to visiting here- the decor is beautiful and the idea is great, but the staff and especially the MANAGER lets this place down. If I was the owner I would be completely ashamed of my staff. I never usually feel so strongly about a review, but I will never step foot in this whatever this place is again. I strongly advise you to read their Tripadvsior reviews before visiting.. as we are not the only ones who were treated horribly! Disgraceful.

Place looks dodgy from outside and you would think it was somewhere that they may harvest your organs, however, it says under new management and food was pretty good, my son liked the salty chilli chicken, fried rice was good to. Price was around £8 for each item, but prices I think are fairly similar to others. Got loads of chips with each item ordered that includes them. Happy to go back again.

This place is between fast food and restaurant food. It’s a bit cheaper than other Japanese restaurants but still quite expensive. We got noodles with salmon and pieces of salmon were small and the temperature of food was colder than we expected. Salmon sashimi was good, fish was fresh The most significant thing in this place is conveyor belt what makes you able to catch a dish you like to eat. Waiting and cooking stuff are very polite and kind.
