What a lovely experience. You get 5 courses, all delicious! The food is definitely something we'll remember for a long time, great flavours, great textures. The dessert was awesome, just want to let it sit in your mouth forever! It is all done in a very unique setting, almost like having your own personalised dining experience. I didn't realise before coming that Sam is a one man band, he does everything! The cherry on the cake was the home made camomile digestif!

A beautifully intimate setting with the feeling of having your very own personal/private chef. Sam’s passion for showcasing the fantastic local Norfolk/British produce shines through in his well-executed dishes full of flavour and texture. I’ve already recommended to my foodie friends and family and look forward to my next visit!

If your looking for a different dining experience then the corkscrew is the place, as the website states don’t be fussy or veg/ vegan. Great food great service great beverage, all from one man. Great food and vibe. Full of passion (both the food and the chief). We cleaned every plate with bread. The wine pairs the dishes very well. Highly recommended!

Taster menu was delicious. So many courses, every single thing was delicious. Sams service was attentive, turns out he is also the chef and owner. He incorporated seasonal foraged food into the daily changing menu. Cannot recommend this place enough. Sam your a babe!

Just had an absolutely amazing 5 course tasting menu here at The Corkscrew. This restaurant is run by one person and he was fantastic at everything, an attentive waiter and excellent chef. It was all outstanding but if the extra of scallops is available do not skip them, one of the best dishes I've had. Thanks so much!

I can't recommend this place enough. From the decor, to the food, to the service, Sam is a one man army. We enjoyed one of the best meals I've had in this country at a very reasonable price. Sam is an incredibly talented chef and is happy to explain any aspect of his dishes. Towards the end of the meal we happened to be the last guests, and he sat and talked with us briefly about his hometown, while showing us his selection of homemade liqueurs. My only disappointment with the meal is that I'm moving out of the county and won't be able to come back any time soon.

Exquisite little restaurant, the chef was very friendly and incredibly skilled. The tasting menu was delectable and filled us all perfectly. The price is very reasonable and atmosphere was smashing. Would highly recommend.

Had a group meal with some friends here recently. The food was absolutely fantastic, service was great and the small table count kept it all feeling very intimate. Would recommend to anyone who wants to try a great seasonal menu.

What a perfectly charming place! We were accomodated last minute for a table and could not fault a thing. Charming dining room with a wonderful welcome and service. The food was delightful, each element of each dish was carefully explained to us and all tasted fantastic. Great value for money as well. I'll definitely be back soon.

Such a lovely dining experience. Sam does all the cooking and serving. On our last visit we had a five course tasting menu and it was perfect and inventive . The food is delicious and he is a charming host. Simple surroundings. Not too pricey. Nice wine list. Excellent negronis. Becoming a fast favourite of ours.

I took my wife here for her birthday and it was absolutely lovely. The quaint ambience was something that you can’t get anywhere else in Norwich. The food was sensational, Michelin star quality at excellent value. Sam, the waiter, chef and sommelier, was so friendly through all email booking correspondence and so personable throughout our visit. We can’t wait to go again.

Sam’s place never fails to impress. I’ve eaten at Sam’s a number of times and I’m always excited to try new dishes from his forever changing seasonal menu. As well as an extensive wine list, Sam's place also offers seasonal cocktails that complement the dishes and usually a nice liqueur at the end of the night :) These cocktails and liqueurs are crafted by Sam himself using a variety of herbs and ingredients. The camomile rum is a personal favourite 🥃 When someone is passionate about their work, it shows. Sam is likely to go the extra mile to ensure that every aspect of the dining experience, from the presentation of the food to the ambiance is perfectly executed. This is easily the best restaurant in Norfolk. I can’t wait to see the new renovation!

Nice and cosy restaurant. The sample December menu was delicious and everything tasted fresh and full of flavour. We were very impressed how Sam was running everything by himself just fine and with a smile on his face I must say. Well done and we look forward to visiting you again.

We were visiting our Daughter in Norwich and she had been recommended this lovely place….. we can see why, the food was delicious all lovingly prepared, cooked and served by one person! He was warm and welcoming from the moment we stepped inside and we shared several delicious dishes including the anchovies, the scallops and the tortellini which were all hand cooked to perfection by Samuel along with a sumptuous house red wine he recommended. We will be back….if we can get in because it should be busy every night he is open with this quality of food!

Just finished one of the best meals in Norwich. The scallop, gnocchi and Brancaster mussels were amazingly good. Good wine list and fantastic distillations from a talented and charismatic one man show. Run asap!

Probably the best food I've had in Norwich. The atmosphere and service is gentle and relaxed. We loved the wine too - we tried the Chianti. I will definitely be coming back hungry!

Absolutely beautiful food. Very well prepared,presented and paired with absolute precision. Every flavour complimented each and every dish. The scallops were a personal highlight for me. Upon finishing i was left speechless by knowing that it was all perfectly executed by a one man only. Service,food and atmosphere was spot on.. One for the memory bank!!!! Italy via St Benedicts street. Inviting cozy candlelit atmosphere. Lovely wine and a nibble; perfect for a relaxed catchup with a friend. The wild garlic butter and sourdough bread were delicious.

We went for the taster menu a couple of weeks ago. Simply put every dish was amazing. This is the best food we've eaten in the UK, no really! Add to that the nice place, fair pricing, good value wine, and the lovely couple that run it...go on, go there now, you know you want to!

This has to be the best food I’ve ever had out side Italy. It was like going on holiday. Flavours I haven’t had for years. All the food was was incredible especially the tortellini. We had the mixed platter to start and the quality of the cheese and meat was superb. We then had a couple of nibbles as starter and a couple of small plates for our main. Everything was so good. We ordered roasted red Onion as a wild card because I wanted to see what could be done to make an onion worth it and it turned out to be the best dish. Just don’t know how he did it. Best place to eat in Norwich!!!!

Amazing little place. I'm still not sure how he manages all alone but the service and food are excellent. Couldn't choose between the scallops, ravioli or crab tacos as best dish today.

Fine dining at its highest level! Cosy and intimate atmosphere with candle lit, Sam is the best host, he accomodated the tester menu to our pescatarians requirements and it was absolutely amazing food and wine, moslty carefully sourced locally and in Italy, with truly good price to quality ratio. A real gem in the centre of Norwich, our go to place for romantic nights now, and would recommend to anyone to enjoy a special dinner in town. Also shout out to Sam for creating such elaborated tester menu, and coming up with a new one every couple of weeks, really impressive work. Looking forward to coming back again soon!

Very nice food and an owner who wants you to be happy. Small and simple with a good atmosphere. Came with son and his girlfriend who is veggie and she stated that the roast veg was the best she'd had. We all loved the mushroom ravioli with truffle cream sauce. Lovely place

Had a delicious lunch here this week … fantastic range of charcuterie and cheeses plus variety of breads. Even the butter was homemade ! Samuel presents everything so well and his food knowledge is outstanding. For a taste of Italy’s wine and food there’s nowhere finer in the area.

Had a wonderful time at The Corkscrew. The atmosphere is so relaxed and cosy, makes the perfect place to enjoy a bottle or two of wine and delve into their delicious menu! Food was amazing! Samuel was so lovely and friendly, was obviously very knowledgeable on the wine and food. Can't wait to come back again soon!

Amazing small plates and a great bottle of 'verdeca' white wine followed on by a bottle of erba luce. Couldn't have asked for more!!. Will definitely be back next time I am in Norwich as it is a hidden gem. The owner was also very informative explaining the wines that go best with the plates we chose.

Fantastic service, delicious food (the snacks and platters are amazing). A good selection of wines, mostly sold by the bottle, but several sold by the glass at very good value. A knowledgeable owner who has created a lovely venue for pre dinner drinks or a full menu.

One of my favourite places Norwich for a quiet drink and excellent food- the homemade ravioli are incredible!

Stumbled across The Corkscrew this evening and had a perfect little apéro. Cosy but minimal, brilliant attention to detail (design and the food and the wine), Sam the host was lovely and we're looking forward to trying the rest of the Mediterranean menu sometime. Great for couples and old friends.

Sam was super friendly. The food was prepared in the moment and super fresh. Cool little spot. We had the cheese platter. Loads of cheese. And the amaretto shot on the house at the end of the meal was truly delicious.

Stopped off here for a drink yesterday evening and it really hit the spot! Sam (the owner I believe) was really friendly and so knowledgeable about the wine. The food was excellent, you could tell they had sourced only the best local ingredients. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back to sample more of the food on offer!
