Great meal very friendly staff and dog friendly defo be going back

Tatty pub that needs a redecorating, unlike most of their pubs, entrance door to gents toilet in a disgusting condition, useless toilet paper despenser that never works properly, but it doesn't matter because there wasn't any paper in it anyway. Food edible but not very warm, far from the usual quality of this chain of pubs, the good news is the staff are lovely, very friendly, helpful and hard working.

Like the star wars bar but less intelligent

Large areas where we could escape the busy areas around screens, noise levels good, patrons friendly. Excellent live muisic saturday. Friendly and professional staff. Food good for prices charged.

Was an impromptu visit for a quick evening meal. Bar person was very jolly and helpfull. Standard chain pub menu. Food arrived quickly and was a good standard. Portions were a bit small but it's at a price point. Want a quick meal if passing by, give this place a try.

Came into the pub at 8:30pm kitchen meant to be open until 9pm, refused service on food at 8:41pm was thinking of making this our local but the bluntness of the staff and the sheer rudeness when asked about Green Kings policy of serving until kitchen closing has made this for a group of us a big no no.

Great value for drinks amazing double up deals. Food very affordable but tastes amazing. Came out fast and hot and was a really nice portion. Staff were friendly and attentive and really helpful.

Took 6 of our elderly residents here for lunch , the seniors menu is just right for them , reasonably priced, and good value and friendly service . Will be calling on a regular basis.

One of the saddest plates of food I've had in a while. I don't understand how someone making food could look at that plate and think it was okay to send out. I would suggest either a better portion of chips, a side of green (peas or salad) or even a smaller plate, so at least it doesn't look so disappointing.

Food very good good beers sorry to say that one of ur staff not very clean with cold and snot on her clothes and clothes to clean cutlery and serving beer wot be back here again soon

The pub seemed fairly quiet today except for two large groups of people having dinner. I ordered via the app - which is new since I last visited and this was much easier for me than going to the bar to order. Food arrived promptly as ordered, portions were great and no issues with the food. Drinks however were forgotten and I had to remind a member of staff. I was disappointed that when the two large groups of people had left that their tables of dirty dishes were emptied onto the table next to where we were sat and were left there for a considerable amount of time before being cleared away. Maybe half an hour to 45 minutes. If it was extra busy then perhaps I could understand but it didn't appear to be - my apologies if there were other things going on that I was unaware of. We are regular visitors to this pub and so are used to the usual excellent service that we receive, so it was a shame for it to be different today especially since the owners didn't appear to be around. It will definitely not put us off visiting again and I will update my review accordingly.

Came in on 7/10/23, a quiet Saturday afternoon considering the rugby was on. Pub is dark and quiet. Ordered food with the hopes it would come in time for half time but ended up waiting 45 minutes for food (1 steak+ 1 kids meal). Ordered a medium steak but it was more very well done. Chips were cold, peas were hard/not cooked enough. The peppercorn sauce I paid extra for came with a hard film ontop and was a small amount. Cheesy garlic bread was soggy and wet underneath and cheese tasted off. Almost a mouldy taste. Whilst eating, I ordered 1 drink on the app. After the 22 minute mark, I went to the bar and asked where the drink was. Turned out the machine had run out of till roll so they hadn’t seen my order and made it there for me when I asked. We had no check back for the entirety of the meal so didn’t have the chance to “complain”. Witnessed a member of staff spill a bowl of chips over a customers lap and then just walk off back to the kitchen to get a new bowl, leaving the mess all over the table, floor+ customers lap. Playground is a trip hazard and fairly run down+dirty with dogs off the lead to run around playground and outdoor tables. Positives? Majority of the staff are friendly enough and pour a good pint. Great big screens for sports. Condiments are kept refrigerated which I appreciated but don’t think I’d return for food.

Good old fashioned pub grub in pleasant surroundings. Great staff. Food basic but very tasty and reasonably priced. You can have two meals from a selected menu for under £12. Incredible value.

Come here every week; excellent quality food and fantastic prices, especially when I bring the wife, and we have the two meals for £11.49. Lovely beer garden, a unique atmosphere and great staff. I cannot fault Nova, Gareth and the rest of the team.

My late dad asked when it's was his time to go can I take our family out to celebrate my Mum and Dad's life and what they managed to do with the time they had I took my wife there daughter inlaw there grandkids and great grandkids out for a meal my brother s who don't life in Swansea done the same my and my Mrs go to the commercial inn Killay now and then plus we have family Xmas s there and then there 28 of us only 7 today I will get to the point today the 14 of May 2023 had table booked for 3 pm the meal was outstanding everyone ver happy best it's been in year s however our deserts took an hour to come after 4 times asking the staff with no apologies at all wasn't happy to the point was I spent just under £100 to get them not bringing our deserts out we I had my two grandkids which were getting board the playground is old and tiered really bad with a nice out door area to sit but playground in my eyes Not good fencing falling apart window frames rooten tops of security doors rooten they need a new revamp in and out me and my family should have had a really good day but let down by table service asked twice for table to be cleared but no couldn't even do that .food 10 out of 10 table service 0 look of the place 4 out of 10

Previous visit was better this time food of poor quality .Was asked if everything alright with the meal to soon had barely started .Then unable to catch anyone's attention to complain .Partner did not want to make a fuss .

Good service nothing to much for the staff good prices in this tough times

Appalling service, been here numerous times in the past and had good service under the influence of nova. Today treated us as customers like we were to much trouble. Told us to leave our seats when we hadn't had our dessert or coffee. Sat us all over the pub, wouldn't allow us to use walk in seats even though available. Huge delay in serving, spoke to us with attitude and disrespect. When asked not to put certain foods on plate due to allergies we were still given them which could have been deathly. Totally spoilt our mothers day and other mothers given gifts on arrival and we had rudeness. Didnt finish our food as felt rushed to finish, ruined our day.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Commercial, a restaurant/pub located in the heart of killay. I was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of my experience there. Tidy pub grub, very reasonable. Noticed a senior menu which I think was £5 for 2 courses or there about, which I thought was pretty amazing in current times! Also they do a 2 meals for £12 menu, which again I thought was brilliant valueExcellent selection of drinks at the bar, large selection of draught lager, beer & cider. We went for my sons 1st birthday and the experience from start to finish was absolutely fantastic! We were a large party of 15 and all thoroughly enjoyed our visit, the food was amazing, all staff were friendly/helpful and management is brilliant also, together they create an incredible team. We would 100% recommend the Commercial Inn Killay and cannot wait for our next visit.

It has a good choice of drinks and plenty of entertainment. Update. Visited today, good new menu with an excellent choice. Great family pub, with children's play area. I recently visited The Commercial with my family for both food and drinks. The food was lovely as was the service. It is also a dog friendly pub which enabled me to take my puppy along while having a drink. I ordered using the Greene King app and had drinks delivered to my table by Charlie, Tom and Becky who were all very efficient, pleasant and polite.

Had a family meal midweek, the service was swift,efficient and had service with a smile!!! The staff were friendly and made the whole family feel welcome. I feel they went the extra mile to make sure our evening was enjoyable as possible.

We visit every Saturday without fail when we visit our caravan, meals are Amazin and good value for money, service is always good, Nova and Gareth always make us welcome, and Beth, Charlie and staff always give excellent service, lovely friendly pub,

On my first visit I was impressed with quick service of food and the pensioners offer for a very good price. The only thing that went wrong was the desserts were not what was ordered but this error was corrected. My second visit was within 2 days and I was very disappointed and shocked by the service of whom I believe is the landlady. I ordered lasagne and chips for my son but was served scampi & chips. !!! I brought this to their attention immediately but was confronted by the Landlady whom was very rude with very poor customer service and she refused to exchange the scampi to what I ordered and also the scampi that was served was no bigger than a child's portion. Very disappointed . Today my third and final visit I ordered 4 beef dinners after ordering and was waiting for our meals we was then told there was only enough beef for three so one was turkey which was OK but would of thought this would of been told this when ordering. The Sunday dinner that was served was again very disappointing 😞. Very small portion as per photo also there were another 3 tables in the outside area that complained about the food and had a refund .

Visiting my grandma from Australia currently and she was adamant we come here… So very glad we did! We’ve been here since Monday and been 3 nights out 4 already lol. Amazing value for money, amazing food and amazing service! Staff were more than compensating and polite. Keep it up guys, we’ll deffs be back when we’re visiting again in the near future! ❤️🇦🇺

Met with friends for lunch after not having been there for years. Didn't seem to have changed much decor-wise. When ordering drinks were told that food might take 45 minutes but decided to order. Food did take slightly less time to arrive. Not impressed with my meal - Hunters Chicken - as chicken was overcooked and bit tough. Have had much better elsewhere. I mentioned it to waitress when she came to collect dishes - her response 'we just follow the instructions we are given for cooking it'. Not quite sure what that meant - don't they have a qualified chef who knows how to cook?? Needless to say, won't be rushing back.

Bloomin great chilli burger. I've paid a lot more for not as good in gourmet burger joints. Really good burger and excellent value and switched on staff. Good job #whoknew. 2022 update...been a while due to circumstances beyond our control...but we are back...all I can say is Steak and Ale pie... outstanding. And as always super staff and management.

1 hour for food no warning either

Another warm welcome from Nova & Gareth as we visit again from the Midlands to watch the rugby with family. We ate in the pub, the food was hot, filling and delicious. After the rugby match there was entertainment from Soulskunks, who played a mixture of soul classics and Ska. We're always made to feel very welcome in the Commercial and enjoy visiting them.

Needs a very deep clean, tables sticky, carpet grubby decor definitely needs updating as paint peeling off walls, cold, food very basic and choice not brilliant. This pub used to be really great but unfortunately not any more.. which is a shame on the plus the staff were very pleasant

This public house is well known as a place that the older generation can go and enjoy a nice lunch time meal at an affordable price during the week. As it was Sunday My wife and I opted for a Sunday lunch of roast beef and trimmings at a special price of £10.99 for the two meals. Drinks are reasonably priced. Parking is free and adjacent.
