Fantastic fish & chips reasonably priced

Watery batter with thick white paste inside, covering a tasteless watery very thin slab of white fish which could've been cod but could've been anything. Asked for salt. Got none. £8.90.

I’m not one to normally leave reviews but we have eaten in here quite a few times now, and I have to say, the food has been great every time. They use great tasting ingredients, they have the best pizzas around, perfectly cooked tasty chips, lovely curry sauce, and the staff working there are always so nice. I could not say anything negative about this place. Well done and thank you

Asked for Plenty of salt and vinegar please, couldn't taste any. Asked for large battered sausage, got 2 small one's. Little thing's I know but it's nice to get what you pay and ask for. All in all the food was very nice and served with a smile.

Wow what can I say what a lovely place went to day and a few day ago fish and chips was amazing and then today I had the chicken ( better than kfc) and the staff went up and above as had a gluten free meal chip✔️ and even fish ✔️ well priced too well done to the team keep up the good work

Staying on california cliffs at the moment thought we'd try this chippy as it has a lot of good reviews and people saying how good the fish and chips are my mum loves fish so tried it yesterday but the chips were soggy and horrible and the fish was not crispy and didn't looked cooked inside I had savoloy that I could eat but had to throw the rest away so was a waste of money I had to go out again and get something else for our dinner

Cod was very good the chips not the same standard.

Chips were cold even though I got there when it first opened. The fish which was advertised as Haddock was soggy and definitely NOT Haddock!! Will never use this place again.

Both me and my husband had cod chips and curry sauce was lovely large amounts of food great taste very much recommend

Well after leaving the Oasis club by Scratby last night we decided to try the Codfather fish and chip shop next to the club, we we’re a bit hesitant because of one of the last reviews On there from Martin saying everything being cooked from frozen. Well I can assure you the food last night was absolutely fantastic freshly battered fish and freshly cooked chips and good banter with the staff ( Herring gulls). Great food and at £8.90 for FRESHLY cooked fish and chips it was a real bargain. See you all again soon

Nice Chips, friendly staff and a lot of choice.

Put simply, we got Fish & Chips and the fish was frozen. It looked and tasted like it was straight from the supermarket. We were not happy! The season hadn't quite started, but that's no excuse. If there aren't enough customers to validate cooking fresh ingredients, then simply don't open.

Although arriving well within the opening times posted by the owner, it was completely closed. Additional On posting this review the times on Google were changed to closed all day Tuesday.

I used this chip shop for the first time this evening, the staff were friendly, food was fresh and cooked to order and everything was lovely.

The most oil on a fish I have ever had also chips wasn't that good either do yourself a favor and give this a miss trust me

Travelled down late on friday night for a weekend stay, starving needing fish and chips, even though they were closing they cooked fresh fish and chips for the 3 of us. Staff were fantastic and very friendly and food was really yummy. Couldnt thank them enough 😊

One of the best fish & chips I ever had. Went to pre order my meals and the customer service was excellent. Busy staff but always extremely friendly, smiling at all times and very polite too. I was overwhelmed by the quality of the fish. The batter was probably one of the best I had and the chips were really good too. Well done to all staff and keep it going. Very satisfied customers.

Update July 2023 Waited 38 minutes for pie n chips, pie dried out and inedible, but the staff all friendly, just very very busy . But... massive BUT and reason they've actually got 4 stars instead of 1, the chips ... best chips in scratby, obviously use different oil to all the other chippies in area, will be back when quieter ----‐------------- Updated August 2020 to 4 star Appears to be new management as well Quite a decent menu, not a big fan of their chips though, seem to be a fusion between French fries and normal chips, sometimes you get a decent portion other times its half a portion of decent chips and half a bag of scraps, also the oil they cook in is the same as used around the area and i really don't like it, tastes really greasy. Cant fault the staff especially the owner who will batter and fry chocolate bars (if you provide the bar) . Everything apart from the chips is alright, not spectacular but not enough to slate it badly

Overall a good place to hang out but the food wasn’t great. Albino chips, the battered sausage was like a rubber ducky and don’t get me started on the fish. Socks and Sandles, anyone?

Despite the location of this establishment being within a holiday park, the superb quality of our fish & chips and friendly service received, would certainly give the more prestigious outlets a run for their money! A most enjoyable meal was had by all of our group. Thank you.

Visit this chippy every time I am in the area. Now under new management, pleased to report the quality and value remains high. This chippy is accessed through one of the chalet parks from California Road. If you love your fish & chips, - especially at the seaside, you MUST try these. Far superior to the 2 other chippys in the area that are 1 star at best.

We had the Cod and chips was really tasty yummy. Enjoyed very much and the piece of lemon they give you for the fish very good. Friendly service too. Also was well presented in the box they put it in.

We discovered this little chip shop by accident when the one at Hemsby was closed. So lucky we found it. Menu is simple but great value. Really love the chips. Really crispy. Fish portions are one size but perfectly adequate. We went back again the following night as we were so impressed. Would not now go anywhere else. Great value.
