Kings Head in Great Yarmouth

Visited for the first time with my partner. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We had a tasty Sunday roast. It was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were perfect. Staff were always on hand to see if everything was okay. That’s always important when you’re eating out. A lovely family pub. Highly recommended

Popped in for a quick one on our return back to caravan park. Friendly service. Less than a tenner for 2 pints so happy with that as would have cost £12 on site 😀

I believe to be under new management, small pub menu with all the “favourites”. Decent sized servings with respective prices! Friendly staff! Separate dessert chalk menu with great selection I don’t know what they are cleaning the tables with but the solution is very sticky.

We came to the Kings head for our Easter Sunday meal.we heard it was under new management and dogs are now allowed. Hooray!. There was a party of 4 of us.we all enjoyed our meals,apart from the veg was under cooked for our liking .we also noticed other people were leaving their veg too. Suggest why not ask the customers how they like their vegetables We will definitely be coming back.

Staff were fantastic, burger and fries were lovely, and chicken tikka was lovely and included garlic naan. Found this place too late during our holiday, but would definately return.

Lovely food. Accommodated us even though kitchen was soon to be closing. Lovely whitebait. I had the sticky beef with rice. Yum!!

Managed to book in late afternoon on a Sunday for a roast dinner. Absolutely delicious 😋. Will come back soon

From what little I saw, it’s a tidy, well-kept pub, with a good sized beer garden. We called in during the early afternoon so it was very quiet. We tried both cask ale offerings (Ghost Ship and Old Speckled Hen) both had a strong off-flavour (sour/vinegar - possibly acetic acid from oxidation, I can only assume that they don’t sell though cask particularly quickly). The bar staff replaced the drink twice for me. No complaints from the young lad, but the older lady was clearly unimpressed. When I explained the issues with both taps, I was met with disbelief, and when I explained that it might be acetic acid I was told that Ghost Ship is a citrus beer. When I clarified again that I felt the issue might be Acetic (not citric) acid I just received a blank look( a moot point really, as there is no ‘citrus’ in Ghost Ship, it’s made with Citra hops which lend a citrus fruit/tropical flavour but should not make it sour or acidic). I would completely understand if I was just being fussy, but Ive been drinking cask for 25 years, and both beers were in a shocking condition. For the second replacement I was told there was nothing else on cask, so I asked for something from keg. The lady agreed but “said make sure it’s something you like” (clearly a suggestion that I was just being difficult). Ultimately the staff did the right thing, and replaced the beers, but they seem to have little interest in an obvious quality issue. If you’re drinking at the Kings Head I would strongly recommend sticking to keg.

Had a lovely birthday lunch today for my friend Ann's 80 birthday no rush put on us to order, both ordered scampi was a very good portional meal, no waste only the lemon why not ask with or without lemon saves wasting food. Harrison our young waiter deserves 10/10.

Just had cod and chips this evening, was the best iv had! Amazing food and friendly staff!

Despite the report in the Gt Yarmouth Mercury, it prompted us to try these fish & chips. What a disappointment. We just wanted to order 2 large Cod and a small portion of chips. We only do 1 size of fish, and they come with chips in a box. So we left and went somewhere else, as we were leaving the owner/staff were very sarcastic. Well done this is exactly what you need to do to loose customers. Very bad/none existent customer service. What happened to "give the customer what they want" Will never go back there again. A good alternative: Tonys Chippy, Magdalen estate. Lovely piece of fish and a few chips.

Even tho pub meals and staff are excellent. Try the fish and chips stall outside cook to order . Friendly family run stall and pub enjoyed it very much 😁 thanks guys xx

Took my husband for the festive afternoon tea and it's truly amazing. The food was absolutely delicious. From the fillings in the rolls, the freshly made scones and the little cakes it definitely got our taste buds tingling. The staff are so friendly and a great atmosphere. I would highly recommend this if you want a festive treat. Thank you so much.🎅🎄

Booked a table of 11 and nothing was too much trouble, the food was amazing and everyone enjoyed there meals. The customer service was excellent and the staff were amazing, my mother inlaw absolutely loved it and enjoyed her birthday meal. Definitely will be back when we are in the area again.

States to be dog friendly but clearly not. No dog water bowls, and even with only 4 customers inside (obviously not popular with locals) would not allow us inside to eat with dogs. I can understand if in restaurant, but the side annexe with tables and chairs (royal suite) should be an option as no one in there. Our group was a 79 and 66 year old males both disabled a 59 male and 2 51 year old females. The 2 young male bar staff were excellent as was the food.

Visited this pub with our small dog only to be told that can't bring the dog in but other people had two dogs in the bar but thay belong to the landlord one rule for one and other rules for others

Lovely surroundings good service excellent food and very reasonably priced definitely recommend

We had a late lunch for my Dads 93rd Birthday treat on Sept 16th. We had a large table for 12. Both the young ladies that served us were very friendly and polite. The food was very good, nicely presented, and a rarity for 12, it all came out together which meant we could all eat our meals, at the same time !! Nothing was too much trouble, and the suprise birthday cake, we had discreetly dropped off earlier, was presented at the perfect time with candles lit and the waitress ladies joining in with a rendition of Happy Birthday. Drinks and food bill was reasonable and not too expensive. It made for a perfect few hours and left my Dad overjoyed with emotion. Thank You to all the staff at the Kings Head. As Arnie once said, " I'll be back "

Absolutely brilliant. Had a fantastic meal me with my husband. Premises are welcoming ...clean and very comfortable. Staff were lovely and chatted about local areas to visit . The menu is impressive and afternoon tea can be booked for the next day. Definitely going to visit here again before we leave to go home . Thank you "Kings Head" for fantastic meal.

We had a lovely lunch here before going to see the roman ruins at Burgh Castle. The food was great and the chips were amazing! Everybody was really friendly

Tried this place as we were staying in a campsite around the corner. The staff were very friendly (and accommodating of our 7yo's fussy food habits), the food was really nice. Overall this has been the best dining experience I've had in some time. Now to see how the desserts are...

Went on monday for lunch, they refused to serve my daughter as she asked to see a food label to check for her allergy, disgraceful in this day and age with so many people suffering with allergies, would not recommend this to anyone especially if you suffer from food intolerance

Nice staff....carvery...hot fresh veg...meat which was reheated in gravy let it down.

The food here is lovely, and a lot of it is home made. The burgers are huge! Plenty of space inside, an outside area, which does feel like you are sitting in a car park though. They have events throughout the year, free parking of course. Outside they also have a fish and chip van. Inside there is also a cream tea venue! Strange but true ... Diversifying at its best, catering for many tastes.

Have tried this pub 3 times in the this year for food. I was served raw chicken when the new management took over this year which was only realised once I had eaten some which made me vomit. Tried lunch recently was okay but salad was not fresh and the bread wasn’t buttered. Tried once more for dinner as is the local pub and I like to support small business. Food wasn’t being served due to an event but there was no advert about this on the FB page or website. Very disappointing when it is the local. I won’t be visiting again.

Attended the kings head Christmas fayre, a lovely afternoon topped off by the lighting up of the Christmas tree and then the raffle draw. An excellent turn out. I think everyone who attended enjoyed the day.

Having had clarification we have learnt that the Kings Head is only dog friendly when not serving food. We are not sure why but we will no longer be visiting the Kings Head to eat in future.

First time we've had food here, was a small group of 5. We all had something different and was incredibly surprised by how good it was for as i consider pub grub. I fancied something small and simple i had dirty chips and some hot and spicy chicken wings. I got a good sized bowl of nice crispy chunky chips and sauce over them was definitely hot and spicy only for the brave, but thats how i like it. My daughter had a burger and wife a crispy chicken burger both were good sized and went down a treat. Our 2 friends had hunters chicken and chilli. The chilli was incredibly good and the tortillas were home made a very nice touch. The staff were very friendly and enjoyed our night playing bingo as well. I can genuinely say that I'm not easily pleased with food. But our experience was extremely good and gets a very strong 4¼ out of 5* rating. Unfortunately nobody has yet reached 5* from my rating so getting 4¼* is a very very good grade. Give it a go you wont be disappointed.

Friendly and welcoming staff. Didn't eat here . But the menu choices and the food I see coming out looked great.

Kings Head was a real treat. I ordered the sea bass fillet and pretty much melted in my seat with the flavor 🤤 It’s a family run place and everyone was friendly and welcoming. A 20 minute walk from the Swallow Park. Cheers!

Didn't get the chance to sample the food. Booked a table for tonight but after learning it was no longer dog friendly we were turned away. Been going for many years but no longer.

Was in search of nice pub food and we found it. A warm welcome and a cold drink. Plenty of seating and tables. Loved the food, definitely be visiting a few more times on our holidays.

Got recommended the Kings head from a nearby holiday park. So glad I took there suggestion. Food was great and came out in good time. All the staff were very warm and welcoming. The only criticism for the food was there wasn't any vegetables on offer. Even the kids meals came with beans could just do with option of peas or carrots. When looking on Google at the pub was hard to find a credible menu and just went off the latest photo of the special menu. Needs a pdf menu on Google or website. Has the potential to be a great pub and very popular. Enjoyed our visit and look forward to coming back for another fanstastic meal. 😊

Forget the reviews regarding DOG friendly, ITS NOT..... I walked in there last night and was told no dogs allowed also a sign on the door stating it, food finished at 8pm so went back to my camper van hungry, won’t be returning.

Delicious food, friendly staff and great atmosphere. What a super local pub!! A must try. Definitely felt they are making a big effort to protect against Covid.

Utterly Amazing... during a walk from Breydon Water Holiday Park to Fritton we came upon the Kings Head in Belton. We stopped initially for a beveragep.. then the menu enticed us to order the starter 'Combo Sharer'.. Scampi, Whitebait, Breaded Mushrooms, Garlic Bread, Onion Rings, Chicken Gourjons and Dips.. all we can say is amazing food, fresh, tasty and spot on.. A*+... top notch.. so good we have booked for dinner.. do not drive by.. a great place.

Very nice meal, deceptive on appearance but the menu was varied. Well cooked. Home made food and the sweets are delicious.

Considering they have been open 2 weeks, it was a nice visit. Food very fresh & lots of it. The staff were friendly. As well as a pub food menu, they also offered afternoon tea.

Cutest pub ever, amazing food, friendly locals and had a lush evening having a big catch up in front of of a lush fire.

So rare I give a 5 star- but the food is just amazing, the staff are great, and the chef is just an absolute star!! Roast Beef was so good, and the gravy was the equivalent of the icing on the cake... we go home tomorrow, but will be back again next year.... if you're looking for a great home cooked food, where the chef really cares about what they do, then go to the Kings Head!!
