Lovely staff, great food… I must commend the chef he catered to my 87 year dads requests and gave it a personal touch. A delicious Sunday lunch. Can’t thank him enough.

We had a fantastic meal here last night, the atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were really friendly making sure we had all we needed. Very reasonably priced too.

The Cockett Inn is our local and has recently changed hands. We stopped in for a quick early dinner before going to a gig in town and it was great. Food was just what we wanted. I had the bbq chicken burger and fries. The food is much improved now it is under new management. Speedy service, very friendly staff. Can't complain. Will definitely going back more often now!

Visited the cockett recently many of times since the new owners Connor and Beth have taken charge and I must say they are doing a amazing job can’t speak highly enough of them both they always go above and beyond for all customers. Wow what a difference, Connor and Bethan have only been there a few weeks and they have turned the pub around. This young couple have faced one problem after another with things breaking down but have overcome it and continued to provide excellent service. Always ready to have a chat and service with a smile. Food is excellent, great bar staff like Greg and Sarj forever professional and always friendly with great memories for customers drinks. The added jukebox and the addition of live music have made many a regular happy and have seen the pub the busiest it has been in years with many of the old regulars coming back to the pub and new faces, adding to the great atmosphere. Would certainly recommend this pub and would like to wish them well with a long and happy future at the pub.

I highly recommend having a pint or two at food at the Cockett. Ella & Cherie, the managers, as well as their team always provide a very warm welcome and bend over backwards to make sure all your needs are met. I'm also very impressed by the way they are dealing with Covid 19. There are a lot of process in place to make sure you feel safe whilst not interfering with your pleasent time there. Had a meal here not long after it re-opened after being shut for COVID. Good value tasty meal of ham egg and chips. Good size portion and polite service. Enjoyed the beer too. Overall better than I’d anticipated. Very careful and well organised to deal with COVID too.

Finally managed to get to the pub for a breakfast and it was well worth it. Tasty bacon and sausage, loads more items mushrooms black pudding and my husbands favourite tinned tomatoes. All meals were piping hot and delicious. Well worth a visit by anyone in the area

Mrs B decided to take me out for my birthday and we chose to go local, not having been to the Cockett Inn for several years and me balking at any fuss.Being a Brains pub, I thought it would be your usual standard fare, however I was pleasantly surprised. The food was actually good, well cooked and full of flavour. Chicken strips and steak and ale pie.Good service from the staff as well. Would certainly come back again.

Stopped in for another wonderful meal at the cockett. We were served by Arwyn who provided excellent front of house service, all of the staff made us feel welcome and the atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed which is perfect for a quick lunch! Had a wonderful meal cooked by emrys everything was lovely and tasty as it always is, will definitely be back again soon and would recommend everyone to stop in!

I was recommended the Cockett Inn for lunch by a friend and when I walked in i got a real sense of nostalgia. I ordered a lovely curry and spoke to chef Emrys afterwards who had cooked the meal. Will definitely be returning there.

We called in for a late lunch,a few people already in the restaurant were a bit loud, which was a bit annoying, but the staff were friendly and the service was good. The food was typical pub grub,there was a good selection of meals, and the prices were good. I would visit again and recommend to friends.

We had a lovely Sunday dinner here for four people, one of whom is a vegetarian. The vegetarian sausages looked lovely and every thing was piping hot. The beef was a little tough but everything else was lovely.

Visited this pub after being a regular many years ago, but unfortunately having to stop going because of drugs and loud, obnoxious pool players. I am so thrilled to say that this is no longer the case, which is great as I'm now able to bring my son here We decided to try it again on a whim, what a turn around! The pub is very clean, the staff were lovely and so welcoming. The food is extremely well priced and absolutely beautiful. Nothing was too much trouble and I'm so pleased as we can now come more frequently Upon talking to the bar staff we learned that since our last visit the pub has come under new management, for us we only wish it had been sooner. What a fantastic job they've done, we will definitely be returning very soon

have passed this pub many times but never been in, today was my first visit and wont be my last. Staff were friendly and welcoming and explained the ordering process to us. Food was excellent value for money, large range of drinks and to top it off my husband was more than pleased with the 30% off brains beer. He does love a good pint of brains. will be back soon.

I attended the Cockett last Friday for a baby shower party for my grand-daughter and her coming baby.What a night everyone present had--could not fault it.This was due mainly to the way the restaurant and tables had been arranged for us, the excellent service of the staff and of course the very professional yet friendly ways of both Sheree and Ella who run the Cockett. Our thanks to all for a very memorable evening.

We came to the Cockett Inn for our usual visit. Once again, we had a lovely time and a fantastic meal. Having been recommended this local pub by friends we thought we’d try it and it was worth it. There was a good choice of meats, beef, chicken or lamb(a £1 supplement) and fresh vegetables. Very good guality and portions.Sunday lunch as advertised as 1 course, which costs less than £7, but there is a free dessert if required, so in effect it is 2 courses for that price. I’m unaware of anywhere else locally where you can better this.The premises is very welcoming, the staff very friendly and helpful. I would recommend a visit for a good Sunday lunch.

Had breakfast here this morning knowing they have recently opened on a Friday and Saturday morning for breakfast and it was fantastic. Good clean cheap breakfast with free tea or coffee. Staff member Greg was very friendly and the place was spotless. Thank you Cockett inn for a fabulous breakfast to start the day.

Dinned here again this evening and every time I have visited it just tops the last visit. The staff are amazing, so friendly/kind and will do anything they can to make your visit that bit better. A very sad occasion yesterday as we all held the funeral wake of a long time ex-landlord of the Cockett at the Cockett--a gentleman called Len Smith. The main point of my review is to highlight the excellent service with drinks, buffet etc, etc all managed by Sheree and Ella. There was a huge amount of people for this wake and most of us were wondering how these ladies were going to accommodate everyone. But they did in magnificent manner in all aspects of this sad event. Absolutely faultless and as usual for them, impressive. A mention must also be made of SA BRAIN who own the Cockett. Believe they made a major effort and support to Sheree and Ella to ensure that everything went smooth on the sad day. For what it is worth, I would like to say a big thank you to the 2 ladies and the brewery for honouring such a lovely old man as Len Smith.

Just sampled some of the new menu launched today. Mac and cheese balls are lovely, lamb koftas are tasty, calamari was so fresh. All from the starter menu, presented nicely in a new modern way that looked inviting and tasted better. Chicken menu looked amazing and I think the burgers would fill even the hungrier diner. Plenty of choice. Well worth a visit

Went for a couple of Bank holiday drinks. Ended up staying the whole afternoon. Not often do you find a local pub with really helpful Bar staff. Advising on different beers. We ended up having a pub meal. The 2 for £10 deal was adequate and value for money. Again the bar staff came and asked if all was ok. Wow so nice to be able to say something nice about a pub I had only been to once before. Well done. We will be going back.

Pleasantly surprised, booked my daughters birthday party here as I’ve been to party’s held here before. To my surprise the pub has had sort of a revamp, i remember there being a pool table but now the room has been done out and our party was held in there. I would recommend this to anyone! The staff couldn’t do enough for us and the room looked beautiful, Ella, sherri & Hannah pulled out all the stops. Thanks again!!

After not having been for a number of months, my recent visit was a welcome surprise. Since being taken over by the current manager and her partner you can really see the difference. Both the food and the service are fantastic, the staff friendly and helpful. Both Ella and her partner are doing an amazing job since they've taken over and you can really see the difference. I did notice the brewery had removed the pool table since my last visit. As much as I do enjoy a game of pool, I have to say it's really improved the atmosphere and clientele from what I could see on my visit, the pub certainly hasn't lost anything from taking it out. Would highly recommend to anyone, will be back soon! Well done ladies :)

Went to the Cockett Inn for a Sunday roast with a large group of people and I couldn't have been more impressed. The food was outstanding but still great value for money. As well as this, the staff were so friendly and attentive it made the whole experience a pleasure. We will definitely be going back!

Decided to pop in after a visit to town so was greeted very friendly and the young lady explained everything to us and there was a surprise it was a free dessert with sunday dinner. Food arrived promptly and we eat our food which was ok not the best bot unedible dessert was fine also .The place was queit and very peacefull even with live football on in the back ground all in all good meal not great.

Staff had no idea what was going on. Faggots weren't cooked and raw. Absolutely appalling and will never return

Having being barred from the pub for 2 weeks and not told by the land ladies , I called twice to ask to speak about mother's day and was told Sheree and Ella were not available. Then out of the blue I was contacted by the police for harassment??? WELL What can I say be careful about asking for a table!!!!

Popped in here on impulse for lunch. Brains pubs have upped their game recently, probably in competition with Wetherspoons. A fairly extensive menu with something for everyone. I had the tagliatelle and K had the plaice. Both tasty and well presented. Service was excellent.Recommended.

We went to the cocket in yesterday for food really dissapointed had the daily special beef madras it was lije water no taste to it the rice was a solid ball and they had just stuck the pompodum on top of the curry also i ordered a portion of chips this turned out to be a couple of bits of chips sorry but really dissapointed will definately not be going back so nice pub for a drink but forget the food.

Visited early evening with my significant other, more drinkers than diners, but don’t let this put you off. Food was delicious, hot and plentiful. Really cheap but again not something that should put you off. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

The outside doesn't represent the inside, it was so friendly and the food was such great value for money.....I will definitely be back as the quality was amazing.My little boy wrote a letter to Santa whilst we were here and Sherree made a real fuss of him with her nerf gun knowledge!!!!An absolutely amazing pub and team that need to move to my local.Thank you!

Had Sunday lunch here today on impulse with out booking and although tables were all showing reserved they quickly found us a table. Roast Beef with veg anf yorkshire very nice. Free dessert very very good. Had Sticky Toffee Pudding with custard. Presentation was as good if not better than you would get in a first class restaurant. And very reasonable. Well worth a visit

The service was second to none but I need to mention a young gentleman who cannot do enough to accommodate my guests. Ben was supportive, polite and incredibly friendly making the whole experience at The Cockett Inn a pleasure. I will continue to dine and entertain here.

Last week I attended my grand-daughters 18th birthday party organised at the Cockett Inn. This was organised to perfection by Ella and Sheree--the working staff,food,drinks,atmosphere was perfect--myself and all the other guests could not fault it.My g-daughter is a lovely young girl and deserves the best--and my God she got it. I can only thank everyone,management and staff,for making it a memorable evening for us all.

I booked for a table of 25 for my daughters birthday last sunday. I had been emailing the manager Ella to organise the booking and put in our pre-orders before hand. I was asked if for special occasion and explained was my daughters 18th. The tables were decorated on arrival with table covers, napkins and balloons - it looked lovely!! Due to ilness had to cancel some orders on the day but all meals were served correctly, hot and tasty! Whenever we go out for family celebrations we always expect something to go wrong because it always does with large group. This is the first time everyone got what they ordered and were pleased with their meals. Great value sunday dinner with free dessert too.The staff were so obliging, I think they were called Callum and Ben - really helpful and pleasant. The decor was friendly and welcoming.cant thank them enough for a lovely family meal. This was our first visit to the Cockett inn and we all said will definately not be our last.

called in to the COCKETT INN on the off chance as myself hubby and daughter had been out for a drive wen we walked in to 2 very friendly bar staff by the names of callum and hannah we then placed our orders for food and drinks our starters came out and i must say the food was outstanding very often hannah would come over and check everything was ok she was very attentive and made us feel really welcome the main courses came out and again the food was outstanding callum and hannah did not stop they were constantly cleaning down the bar areas and making sure the customers were happy now i must say i was in the pub trade for a while and thats how customers should be treated so a very big pat on the back to the cockett inn and callum and hannah for such a a wonderful welcome and a wonderful everning we will be back again most definatly
