My wife and I have eaten in the Buttery on a number of occasions, and have always enjoyed the food. We brought our son and his fiancée for a meal one Sunday evening, and as always we couldn’t fault the food. Unfortunately my son’s fiancée had to return her drink as there was lipstick on her glass. The waitress simply transferred her drink to another glass and returned it to the table. I find this unacceptable, especially in the middle of a pandemic. She asked for a fresh drink in a clean glass. The owner/manager came back to the table with the replacement drink and abruptly set it down on the table. She didn’t speak and made no attempt to apologise. I am disappointed at this apparent lack of customer service, where a simple apology would have been graciously accepted, as we totally accept that these things happen from time to time. As a result of this we will not be back.

My friend and her partner joined my husband and I in the Buttery in Markethill on Friday. We all had the steak meal for two priced at £39.99 per couple for 2 courses. The steaks were done to perfection and we all had no complaints. The service was very good and we all enjoyed our evening

We had a brilliant sunday lunch at the buttery as part of a large group of 20 people we all had the 3 course sunday lunch menu which was excellent value for money, the service and the food were both excellent. The starters of brie and salted chilli chicken were very tasty and the main courses of turkey and ham and roast beef were well presented and tasted just as good, the desserts were to die for,i had the homemade cheesecake one of the best I've tasted!!! Definitely will be back can't wait to try the evening menu.

What was supposed to be a nice family meal turned into a total disaster! We had an extremely long wait for food, followed by cold main courses and appalling attitude from the young waitressing staff on Sunday afternoon. No one seemed to be in charge and the people who were working definitely did not want to be. Staff were more interested in gossiping about their customers than actually providing any customer service. The most disappointing meal I have had in a very long time. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

We went for Sunday lunch to celebrate a family birthday. The food was incredibly slow in coming, in fact two people had to leave an hour and a half after we arrived with no main course as they had to go to work. Food was not hot and had to be returned. By far the worst thing was the poor attitude of the serving staff. They were young and clearly had no supervision. They sighed and tutted and clearly didn't want to be there. They huddled around the bar area and generally ignored the customers. I have had reports that people have had a good experience in the evenings but I can only comment on Sunday lunch which I would not recommend.

I am bewildered why this restaurant is not buzzing. Had dinner here with friends on a Friday evening. It was not busy and it should be! The food was fantastic. Great starters and we all had the steaks (on a deal) which were all cooked perfectly. Staff were very friendly and professional. Will definitely eat here again. Give it a try!

Visited on Thursday evening @ 6.30pm, only customers , staff were friendly , food served within reasonable time , starter of brie wedges ok, main meal Rib-eye steak 12 oz average, salmon in white wine , with mash (very large amount) overall was dry and tasteless . One other party arrived before we left. The decor is fresh and well maintained.

I went to The Buttery on Friday night for the first time with friends. The interior decor is modern, tasteful and comfortable. The menu had a great variety of options for everyone. I had the garlic mushrooms to start which were perfect with a good amount of garlic mayo. The menu had a deal on for 2 steaks (you could choose between ribeye or sirloin) with 2 sauces and 2 sides for £29.95 which is very reasonable so I had the ribeye - it was cooked exactly as I had ordered and tasted beautiful. The side dishes were more than sufficient, very tasty and we couldn't finish everything. I had lemon meringue for desert as I had seen good reviews about it here and I must say it was the best lemon meringue I've ever had! The service was excellent and Barbara the owner was friendly and really made us feel welcome. I strongly recommend a visit to this restaurant - you won't be disappointed! I will definitely be back soon

Being quite local we thought we would give here a go. 'Chilli sauce' for the wings would need to be stated 'sweet chilli sauce' since thats all it is, thought i was going to get a lovely chilli wing sauce but no. My steak was over seasoned, just really salty that i couldn't finish it - however my steak was cooked as requested, although my partners was overcooked. Our chips were greasy also. I did try and get the attention of someone to say but i couldn't, therefore we left unpleased. We were not checked during the mains which is vital!

First class beautifully presented food. Steak sandwich to die for - vegetarian green Thai curry really flavoursome - chicken and bacon carbonara a real hit for a fussy fourteen year old. Excellent helpful friendly service. A hidden gem worth finding .... and saving to your Satnav. As the saying goes "we will be back!" Highly recommend ✅

Recently reopened. Fantastic steak house with superb local meat and chefs who know what they're doing. Situated at the rear of The Village Inn which is a superb traditional Co Armagh pub. Had a great sirloin steak and the Guinness is as good as you'll get anywhere in Northern Ireland. Worth the trip.

Ordered nearly £37 of food through drive thru and when I got home half of the order was missing, rip off The response from KFC is trite. Every time we visit the drive thru of this branch some part of the order is missing. Is that the tactic of this branch to charge customers full price and then consistently not supply items ordered to increase profitability? I have left my contact details for the Store Manager to explain to me directly why orders are consistently ‘short’ with no receipts as proof of purchase supplied, are the lack in of receipts designed to ensure customers cannot establish what was actually ordered when complaining? Does the store think local customers cannot spot ‘tactics’?
