The Brewhouse in South Derbyshire

Visited for drinks & dinner on a Saturday evening. We booked the sofa & enjoyed a very lovely, relaxed evening. Nice selection of beers. Food was super tasty, we went for a selection of small plates & a pinsas, everything had amazing flavours and a fab variety. Pricing is really reasonable too. Great service and friendly staff. Fab atmosphere & live music in the main area. Recommend for a lovely, chilled evening & great food.

Great atmosphere and lovely drink. Barman was knowledgeable and let me try a sample before choosing what I wanted. Will definitely be returning to try food.

Been before and had an arancini which was fabulous. Decided to come back for dinner and try the pies. Fish pie and shepherds pie were wonderful. My only critique is they’re both served with bread. Pie and bread does not work! Even the waitress agreed. Where was the carrot, peas and broccoli?? Add the veg and you’re on to a winner guys!

Ordered food Saturday evening, 2 pizzas, one fries and, as described, full portion of Veggie Samosas @ £14, given half portion was £7, there was 4 of us, assumed full portion of Samosas would be plenty for us. To our amazement, (more gobsmacked) when the food arrived, there was 2, yes 2! veggie Samosas. We challenged the waitress, who said no one was available to speak with, there’s clearly a problem with the pricing structure. Other people appear to be complaining about the same issue.

Nice place but expensive food & managers family needs to consider their own dog Popped in for a bite to eat and chose the arancini, at £12 I expected it to fill a gap, but it was literally two, yes two balls! For £12! And it took over half an hour to arrive. I don’t get the pricing when you can get a whole pizza for £14/16/18. I also hate seeing people taking dogs out in midday sun on hot days, it boils my blood - please go out in a fur coat yourself then you might too get boiling blood, literally. A large table rocked up dragging a very old dark brown lab by its collar and lead, poor thing was panting and looked like it was about to collapse, they sat down and sat it in the shade tbf under the table. However, there were dog bowls everywhere and did they offer the poor thing a drink of water once? No. We were there for 1.5 hours and it was panting the whole time. Whilst its owners wined and dined themselves with iced cold drinks and food. When we left we went and asked a waiter to take it a bowl of water as it was panting so much, and he said oh that’s the managers family I’ll speak to my supervisor to see what I can do. I said please just take it a bowl of water. Whether he did who knows. But dear manager, you obviously consider all the other dogs, with the bowls and water station so please consider your own and leave it at home next time. Poor thing.

Such a beautiful space, inviting and cosy. We loved the pizzas, extremely well made and nicely presented. The food is homemade and tastes really good. The beer is great too, the tasting board is really good to try. All of the staff were friendly, chatty and knowledgeable. We loved it all.

First time here. Couldn’t fault it. Super staff, our South African waitress was so welcoming and happy with her work. The food was wonderful and beers lovely. Pit I was driving. Pricing excellent and atmosphere brilliant. Will be back

Visited with the family and friends for a quick drink. However we ended up staying for a few hours and ordered some food. They had a wide menu choice and we ended up with some delicious Caribbean food and pizza. Great ales and food. We will be back!

Have visited before and loved the place. Great venue with wonderful staff. I had the Caribbean curry off the specials board. Wow. Just wow. Having worked for the cruise ships and based a lot in the Caribbean, id argue I've not tried a curry as good as that. There's a good reason it's on the specials board! Thank you!

Lovely vibe, great feeling with the decor, with interesting, varied food offerings, friendly staff and good choices of ales, ciders, etc., tried the Caribbean menu choices, wow, we all enjoyed our food and were not disappointed, we will be back!

My family and I had a great evening! The decor and ambiance gives a great vibe along with lovely staff who couldn’t do enough for us. We had a varied selection of food which was presented well and all tasted fabulous! We will definitely be back ❤️

Please stop and visit the brewhouse, order drinks and sit outside in the pleasant surroundings, enjoy the sun and people watch
