The Boot Inn in South Derbyshire

This is a really lovely venue. The food was excellent and the staff amazing. We were given a round table for four, which was great for the children and the modern decor lends itself to the ambience. We will definitely return!

We are so lucky to have this pub and restaurant nearby. Dinner on Saturday night was fabulous and our waitress was lovely. Highly recommended

Went on a Saturday night for dinner. The boot fried chicken is the tastiest chicken dish I’ve tried. The only downside was one of the deserts. My wife had cheesecake with passion fruit. She liked it, but as the seeds were left in, was like chewing grit. After a lenghly process of removing all the seeds, she proceeded to eat it. She would have loved it without the seeds. Please take note The Boot. On the upside, the staff were really pleasant & efficient. Would have been a 5star review if it wasn’t for this desert.

A hidden gem, great food and service and a lovely location. Great choice on the menu for all tastes. One of the best, if not the best , in Derbyshire.

We were a party of 10 for Sunday Lunch. We couldn’t fault the service or the food, both were excellent. The team were attentive but not intrusive. The Sunday lunch was very good value for money and (including the child’s meal) portions were generous. We would highly recommend the Boot.

Lovely place, staff were very welcoming and did excellent job. Sunday lunch was perfect, good portion sizes with their giant Yorkshire puddings! Desserts very nice, sticky toffee pudding was worth every penny.

Great food and brilliant service for saying how busy the place was ,Not the cheapest but worth it . The steak was perfectly cooked and the chips were amazing ,can't wait for our next visit

Went with the July/August 20oz steak sharing platter voucher. Lovely food, great value. Boot bitter usual great quality and our server Lauren was definitely the best I've had in a long time just the right balance of attentiveness and attention to detail and all done with a friendly smile. I held my partners wake at The Boot and it was superb . Rik ,Gemma and all the staff were brilliant and so attentive especially as it was quite a sad occasion The food was brilliant, especially the fish and chip canapés and everyone commented on it . My thanks to all concerned.

We have just had the most fantastic stay at The Boot Inn. All of the staff were absolutely incredible, nothing was too much trouble and they went above and beyond the service expected. The food was out of this world, cooked to absolute perfection (we are thinking of moving in!). Highly, highly recommend! Thank you so much :)

As usual had a very nice light lunch and a super pint of Bass. Great atmosphere with old feel but modern and pleasant. Recommended.

Sunday lunch - had the beef which was served rare but so tender and delicious, and a really sizeable portion with vegetables. Thoroughly recommend.

Great little inn. The staff was spectacular, I wish I could remember all their names. Super nice and accommodating. Always smiling and helpful. Rooms were small, but comfortable and quaint.

Lovely little gem. I do not normally go to places alone! However, I always feel comfortable here, reading my book and enjoying the delicious food. The menu is always wonderful, as it changes. The set menu is also such a high standard, justice the main menus. The drinks menu has something for everyone from mocktails, to kids drinks, beers, to cocktails and the champagne and wine selection are wonderful. They even did me a birthday dessert message and a lovely glass of champagne. I met a lovely group of ladies, it was one of their birthday too! I will always return here. The service and food speak for itself. Thank you.

Reviewing Sunday lunch - 3rd time and last time. The very first Sunday lunch here made us come back again. The second time was terrible. Cold food, fatty meat, bad service, dried up veg. We put it down to a bad day so tried it again. The meat was better than the second time but everything was cold, the service was poor. The young waiters and waitresses are lovely but the blonde girl who where’s a different uniform I think must be in charge, is rude and has a big attitude problem. She needs to drastically improve her customer service skills and then maybe this will pass down the line to the others. We had no apology for the bad service, just attitude and lack of responsibility. Unfortunately we won’t be going back which is a shame as there are only 2 places to eat in Repton and this is the only one that does Sunday lunch.

Lovely bar and restaurant, great vibe for a drink with friends or a family meal out. Food is excellent, a bit pricy but you get what you pay for. Service also first rate, relaxed but attentive.

Love going to The Boot but thought I'd leave a review about the beer garden in the hope action is taken. It feels very grotty up there. In my opinion, the whole area could do with a good power hose & clean up. There is one table (under the tree) which is covered in bird mess which rather sets the tone. Is anyone trying to find a solution to ensure the birds aren't dropping onto the patio?

We stayed overnight at The Boot Inn at the end of a school friends reunion day. Having been a pupil at the school fifty four years ago, this was my first time ever in The Boot! Very pleasant surroundings with a warm welcome. Dinner was excellent and the service by all the restaurant staff was friendly and very efficient. The bedroom was at the front of the building with a good view over the cricket ground but there was very little traffic noise. The bed was comfortable, the room tastefully decorated and the facilities were more perfectly adequate. My only comment is that perhaps there could have been a hand shower attachment for hair washing. We very much enjoyed our overnight stay and would very happily stay there, and eat there again. Well done!

Lovely family celebration meal. Good was incredible. The chef even made a vegan menu for our party. We had dogs with us so were sat in the bar area, it had a different feel to the restaurant but still lovely. The young guy from behind the bar who looked after us, took order etc, was amazing!! He was very happy and made us feel at home. Sorry didn't catch his name but he was just brilliant. Can't wait to return ✨

Absolutely love this place. The food is to die for. Lovely staff and lovely clean rooms. Bar area has such a good atmosphere. We stay here when racing at Donington circuit. The only tiny thing this time was the staff stood round the room entrance smoking and vaping which you had to walk through.

Started off well 😄 only to fall by the wayside once lunch arrived 😟. Meat no veg 🧐! This then took a good ten minutes for the veg to arrive, this was only after further question where is the veg 🤨? for a table of 4 we received only a portion for a table for 2. Then we get chased to vacate the table as our allotted time was about up ⏰ but as we were waiting for the bill I found this frustrating as the manager should be aware 😡 Then they try and charge for the additional vegetable Good food spoiled by service So on review they need to improve

A fabulous setting with cosy and inviting decor and delicious food with excellent wine for a party of 11. It was a long celebratory lunch over several hours and the staff were warm, welcoming and attentive throughout. Nothing was too much trouble, from helping with the initial table arrangements to sourcing an umbrella. We would highly recommend.

All three of us really enjoyed the food. The service was fantastic, very polite and welcoming. We'll definitely be back very soon.

Every course of my Sunday lunch birthday treat was delicious! We sat outside for our pre lunch drink in the brief April sunshine in the lovely beer garden. All dishes beautifully presented with excellent service (as usual) and tasted absolutely delicious I can highly recommend the Cod Loin!

Very good atmosphere and Service, In the main food was very good, Starter ( Cured Salmon) excellent as was the dessert ( Chocolate Torte) the main course veg and accompanyments again very good but the beef was poor, dry and tough.

Can't really review bedrooms as I didn't stay overnight, but the pub was tastefully decorated. Great lively atmosphere. Nice to see an establishment busy. We were greeted by friendly welcoming staff on entry and promptly shown to our table. Our waiter was superb, friendly, and engaging providing excellent service. The food was delicious, tasty, and beautifully presented. Not your traditional pub offering, which was a refreshing change, but the option to have a burger or fish and chips was there should you wish. Will certainly return. An asset to the local area.

Really enjoyed the savoury and sweet combinations of the mushroom parfait and tasty toast. The confi duck had great flavour and texture, the fish pie was delicious. The creme caramel was lovely and smooth, the treacle tart was very tasty but the pastry was a little thick and hard. Service was friendly and attentive, we had a lovely time.

Haven't visited for a while and ordered fish & chips which used to be lovely. Unfortunately this time the chips were second rate: thin and almost certainly frozen, nothing like the thick, hand-cut ones they used to do. Did mention this to the waitress, who confirmed that it was a change brought in buy the new chef: suggest you change the chef then!
