The Blair is such an great restaurant, the staff are so lovely the food is amazing and the atmosphere is so relaxing, I had always heard good things an I decided to try it for my self and I have been in regularly since, one of north Ayrshires best restraints

Absolutely fabulous, the food standards are incredible and the vegan options are very well thought out so that there are a range of foods and flavours to be enjoyed.Although the food was fabulous, my favourite part of our visit here was the staff. We took our toddler with us who is easily excitable and the staff treated them with such kindness and really made the effort to make them feel special.The atmosphere was beautiful even though all covid rules and regulations where stuck to in accordance to gov guidelines the atmosphere was so relaxed and felt like old times before covid. Definitely will be returning customers and can't wait to come back.

This was recommended to me and I can totally see why. The staff were friendly and the service and food was excellent. As it was a nice day we decided to eat outside. I had the fish special which was very tasty my husband had the Mexican burger and our daughter had the steak all were excellent. Have no problems recommending here and can't wait to go back

It was my birthday and 4 of us booked a table in advance. When we arrived the weather was beautiful and we asked to swap our inside table for one outdoors and it was not a problem. They have a nice updated outdoor seating area which is great when the suns out . Service was good and the food delicious. Huge portions and fantastic value. We all had different dishes and everyone managed to eat them and manage a dessert. We all had a great time and can’t wait to return.

Booked a table for 4 for my daughters birthday, first impressions on arrival were very good, immaculate car park, outside areas and gardens. All the staff were very friendly and professional throughout the evening. Food itself was excellent, fresh, homemade and good portion sizes. I had heard good reports for some time and we were not disappointed. Very impressed and will definitely return.

Been to the blair tonight for wife,s birthday and very happy with everything about the night starters and mains were amazing with plenty on the plates service was spot on and the staff were very plesant the whole package was topped of with very reasonable prices will defiantly be back very soon 10 out of 10

So disappointed wife and I took day of work and booked lunch for anniversary,Arrived at designated time seated then ordered drinks and meal then waited and waited and waited nearly 1 hour, then the host came to say our order had been put through but had been lost ,only to say sorry so we left very disappointed.thought a restaurant like the Blair would have got in contact to be more apologetic as they did have our contact details on the COVID request form

I absolutely love it there. Service and food is always spot on and the menu is absolutely huge but all freshly made! My mum doesn’t eat a lot, but it is no hassle at all and they will give you a half portion with no hesitation.COVID procedures are brilliant - so organised and clean. Tables around us were cleaned well. Which it’s vital now.Can’t wait until Sturgeon lifts the restrictions and we can enjoy a wee glass of wine.Will be back very very soon.Absolutely love it . Visited here for the first time today, after hearing great reviews about it. They weren't wrong. The food was beautiful and very reasonably priced. Service was brilliant, and very friendly. We were allocated 2 hours for lunch, which was fantastic, and helped to make it a very relaxing visit. Will definitely be back, to work our way through the delicious menu.

Booked a table for a birthday lunch. Seated in middle of room, next to a pillar. There was a fire at the other end of the room, unfortunately the heat didn’t extend to where we were, shivering in the droughts from the open doorway. I wouldn’t have been annoyed if this had been the last table, but, a corner table in a far more sheltered area was available for the whole period we were there. It was obvious we were cold, but we were studiously ignored once we were served. I feel the Blair has become a victim of its own success, and unfortunately most customers prefer quantity over quality in their extensive menu. Unfortunately most of my lunch was bland and tasted completely unseasoned. Not really an experience I want to repeat in a hurry. The meal was booked as a birthday treat, unfortunately it turned out to be a non-event. Can’t fault them on their Covid preparedness, but feel this has taken priority over customer satisfaction. All staff were courteous, but still didn’t feel we could approach them for a change of table.

Fantastic two courser in a relaxed,organised and spotless environment with sanitiser on every table. Just felt like a bit of normality again due to the surroundings we were in. Food was top notch and good value. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you, Well done Jim, Tracey and staff for sticking with it,you are all doing a marvellous job. as the saying goes ,you only get what you pay for so previous comments that its expensive is ridiculous.

Has the Blair changed hands ? We used to go religiously but after having our little one we haven’t been for a while . We went back the other week and it was expansive . Food was lovely and staff were really nice. After coming home I had a very sore stomach could have been anything I suppose was a hour after I got home . Over all nice meal . A little expensive but lovely staff . Just maybe not the same standard as before .

Just back today what a meal quality place has both a bit more expensive than the norm but worth it in my opinion

I previously loved coming to the Blair with family and friends as we love the menu and always left with a good experience, however since reopening after the pandemic the food wasn’t great. The macaroni and cheese was quite bland and could taste basically just cream and pasta and the steak pie was the same. All the staff are lovely and so attentive and the desserts were lovely, it may just have been a new chef ect but it wasn’t anywhere near the standard we received before.

On Sunday my took my wife and myself for lunch for Marion's birthday. What a delight from the warm welcome from Jim and Tracy to the efficient and friendly service from the staff. Things were so well organised we were able to forget Covid for a couple of days. This was of coarse elevated by a wonderful menu followed by the usual high quality of wine and food.

Visited The Blair recently with family for lunch, the rest of our party had been before but I hadn’t. The setting was gorgeous, really nice building and grounds which was immediately inviting. Inside the restaurant was modern and cosy and absolutely spotless. The staff were really friendly and efficient and we didn’t wait too long at all for our food which was very tasty and fresh. My chicken tempura was a tad on the greasy side and the pate was a little bland, however that could be personal taste. The mocha coffee was one of the nicest I’ve ever had, really tasty. Unfortunately can’t comment on the desserts as we were all too full to have any! Was really impressed with the distancing and cleaning measures in place as well, all tables and chairs were cleaned as soon as people left. Would definitely go back again.

Went here a few days ago, with my elderly parents, for their 65th anniversary. Hadn't been for over 20 years, but a friend recommended it, and he wasn't wrong. Firstly, the environment was spotless, and the Covid protocols in place were first class. Secondly, the service was amazing. Plenty of staff looking after you, and making sure, we had everything we needed. Even took our pics. Were all lovely and oh so friendly. Lastly, the food. The quality of food was exceptional. My chicken stuffed with brie was amazing. Of course, me being a fat lump, sampled everybody elses. The fish and chips, and steak pie were gorgeous. For a starter, i'd recommend the black pudding, and haggis fritters. Outstanding. The desserts were lush. My mum's sundae was brilliant, and my milky way cheesecake, to die for. All the dishes beautifully presented, yet the portion sizes were excellent..again even for a fat lump like me! Bill came to £110+, for 2 starters, 4 mains, 4 desserts, loads of beer and some soft drinks. Given the quality, of food and service, this was fantastic value. Wont be 20 years, before i return again. Excellent.

Really well set up with covid procedures - they limit the amount of customers at one time, tables distanced, sanitiser available, track and trace in place and all the staff wore masks. I'm coeliac and chose to eat here because they were the only ones who had their gluten free menu online! The gf menu is extensive- 4 pages long. I had the warm goats cheese salad as a starter and chargrilled steak for mains with a cheese board for dessert. My partner had the haggis, lasagna and apple and cinnamon crumble. All the portions are huge! Was a bit worried about the onion rings that came with my steak but the lovely waiter double checked and they are gluten free (you don't see them offered a lot so I was wary). The batter was light and crispy. Would come back and recommend it to everybody.

Ist time visit, My wife treated me,as it was my 66th birthday and offically now a pensioner according to the govt The food was great, friendly service ,good price and plenty of food ,did the social distancing well

we visited for a birthday meal.the car park , grounds , and landscaping around the restaurant were absolutely first-class.all covid requirements appeared to be in place , although we felt that we were a little closer to adjacent table than we would have preferred.the food was delicious , tasty , plentiful , and very well-presented.I had the poached fillet of salmon , cooked perfectly , and well recommendable.The service was very good , friendly, helpful , and competent.Our visit was slightly spoiled by a quarreling couple with a wailing child , but fortunately we were near the end of our meal and we were able to make a hasty exit.Prices are very reasonable.This remains one of our favourite restaurants and is totally recommendable.

My partner and me had a fantastic meal here. I’m coeliac and the gluten free menu is fantastic, I had chicken and Brie in an amazing sauce, fresh veg and chips absolutely delicious. My partner had a black pudding starter, followed by salmon and prawns which he said was delicious. Great size portions so took my gluten free sticky pudding home and it was the most delicious pudding ever. The service is friendly and fantastic. Can’t recommend highly enough.

My friend and I visited for lunch, I had cajun chicken pasta and she had the cajun chicken, we then had pavlova for dessert. Meal was excellent, staff friendly and attentive. All spaced out adequately for COVID, hand sanitisers etc. Would highly recommend.

Have been a few times as Guest otherwise not our most favourite place. Menu predictable with some specials. My wife does not like a large plateful but they wouldn’t give reduced size serving even if paying full price.

I visited just after I’d been diagnosed as coeliac and was delighted to find there were so many GF options. I’ve been twice now and loved my food both times - I can’t wait for summer to take another drive out for food and drinks in the sun!

Beautiful setting. Gardens and outside space is very well looked after. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Food was amazing. Will be back soon!

Popped in to The Blair for lunch on way to Seamill Hydro. We were seated next to the fire on a stormy day which was lovely. The staff were friendly and the restaurant clean and nicely decorated. We had the lasagne and southern fried chicken burger which were both big portion sizes and delicious. There is a good car park next to the restaurant too. Beautiful country restaurant. We are looking forward to visiting again!

Visited The Blair yet again on a miserable Sunday evening during storm Ciara. Place was mobbed as usual but the staff where attentive as always and very friendly.Food on the whole was excellent. My wife and I shared the cauliflower pakora from the vegan menu as a starter however had to send the first lot back as it was still raw and runny inside, however this was replaced without quibble.My son had the mini fish pie followed by ice cream which he thoroughly enjoyed. Both my wife and myself opted for Mexican options from the specials. The veggie enchilada was huge and packed full of veg with a creamy sauce. I had the Blair Chimichanga which was filled with minced beef, rice and chickpeas. Wasn’t overly huge which was nice although there wasn’t a lot of mince inside and seemed to be a lot of excess wrap.To finish my wife had the warm chocolate brownie again from the specials and said it was absolutely delicious. Overall an enjoyable trip to one of our favourite local restaurants and always my sons first choice when given the option.

I cannot add any thing different to the previous reviews ! the meals are all outstanding , big helpings , we thought being Monday it would be quiet , no it was very busy and that tells you a lot about a place , I would definitely recommend the Blair for a meal .

We visited the weekend before Christmas for a Christmas Treat out. The building is always done up really nice for Christmas with lights outside and a lovely tree at the entrance way - very Christmassy with the old fire etc - we always think it feels like a proper Christmas when we walk in each year.The food was lovely as it always is. My husband and mother both had the Christmas Turkey dinner which they are still raving about as they look forward to it every year - the only thing they said that was missing (which was the same last year) was a few roast potatoes. The liked the mashed potato but would love to see some roasties on the plate next Christmas. There wasn't any crackers on the table this year either but I suppose they are really a waste of money.We all had pavlova for dessert- always goes down well, nice and light and fresh fruit and cream which is just right after your main course.Hubby would prefer Coke/Pepsi to be on draught as cheaper brand on offer at present isn't all that nice, which we have all noticed since it changed a couple of years back.Will certainly be back soon - love the staff who are always so pleasant on arrive and when leaving - so hoping you'll be open Christmas Day this year.

Me and my dad came here for lunch as it was my 21st birthday. I had the Blair beef burger and my dad the Southern fried chicken burger. Both were absolutely beautiful. We also had dessert, my dad had mint choc chip ice cream and I had sticky toffee pudding. Was my first time here and I will definitely be back. Best food ever!

I booked a lunch for myself and my eldest daughter for her 21st. I know the place well and my daughter had never been. It's fair to say she will be back very soon after declaring that was the best burger she has ever had in her life. We arrived 10 minutes before our booking and were cheerily welcomed by the girl who asked if she could take our jackets. We were quickly taken to our table and given the main menu and specials menu. We both opted for burgers i had the southern fried chicken one with chilli cheese fries my daughter had normal cheese burger with garlic and herb fries. Both of them were outstanding and the portion sizes are really good. We finished of with sticky toffee pudding and i had two scoops of mint choc chip ice cream both were delicious. So it goes without saying we are really looking forward to returning to the Blair. Many thanks to all the staff for making it a very pleasant experience.

Beautiful hidden gem it’s a very cosy restaurant with superb food and a fantastic range to choose from the presentation of food is beautiful! It’s definitely more expensive than most local restaurants I’d definitely say however if your looking for a romantic meal in a cosy quiet restaurant with fantastic food definitely go here it has beautiful log burning fires as well.

The Blair is a lovely restaurant, me & my family eat there often. The portions are enormous so best going on a fairly empty stomach. The food is delicious & the staff are friendly & helpful.

This was our first visit to the Blair.

Decided we would treat ourselves after the stress of Christmas and The Blair was a great decision. Shown straight to our table even though we were a little earlier than our reservation.. the staff were very pleasant and welcoming, my only criticism is about the menu's.. once seated our waitress proceeded to hand us 5 rather large clipboard/wooden menu's (2 standard, 2 festive & 1 wine) it was actually a struggle to find room on our table for them.. but as all inconvenience in an otherwise faultless experience.

My turn to organise the annual Christmas party and came here as a group of 28. Warm welcome from the moment we entered, drinks order taken and served within minutes of arrival, food service was faultless, timing bang on and every single meal was absolutely delicious. The menu had great choices and the price was fantastic. The couple who run this restaurant are a credit to the industry. The staff were professional and friendly, the place is immaculate. Absolutely nothing to fault ! Thank you for giving us a brilliant family Christmas meal.

Decided to see if we could get a table (although we hadn’t booked) the Sunday before Christmas. So glad we did, the lady at the desk apologised the only table they had left was in the bar at the window. . Perfect for us, my husband is visually impaired and we always prefer a window table. The food was excellent, so glad I didn’t order a starter the mains was enormous! Although the place was exceptionally busy the service was excellent. Will definitely be back

No better way to start the Christmas celo. A bit early but worthwhile. Great selection of food and wonderful service. Highly recommended.

5 of us went for a birthday celebration the meals were excellent generous portions including the starters if you can't manage to finish your meal they offer to box it up for you to take it away i asked for a dessert but to take away which was orange rice pudding and it was to die for highly recomend this restaurant and would visit again

Loved the food, very generous portions of delightful wholesome Scottish fayre in a warm and friendly environment, would love to come back and really good value. Out of the way and in middle of countryside with not many neighbours, this place attracts its clientele as the car park was busy as was the restuarant. The reason I cannot give it 5 stars is that I found the service was a bit slow. Welcomed promptly on arrival we were shown to table by friendly staff but then left for 20 minutes while I suppose a new young waiter walked around every 2 minutes without looking at anyone and avoiding eye contact. When waitress came to take our food order, we had to ask to order drinks first and then drinks only arrived after the starter was finished. I appreciate they were very busy and the young staff member may be new and shy, but it is the clientele that pays their wages and the delays and waiting to offer refreshments did spoil the occasion.

What a fantastic place to eat and enjoy yourself fabulous food and great friendly staff never had abad meal there yet

Been wanting to go to The Blair for a while and it didn't disappoint! Surroundings are very cosy and the real log fires brought a lovely warmth to the restaurant! The menu is extensive with varied choice. We settled on the goats cheese salad and the haggis and black pudding starters. Both very nice. Mains of traditional turkey and the chicken with haggis were delicious. Too full for desserts as mains are substantial, but a great selection! Prices are pretty reasonable for the type of establishment that The Blair is but it was worth the journey. I'd definitely return to try something different from the menu and I'd recommend it.

I have been to this restaurant many times and it never fails to impress me.

We had a wonderful family meal at this fine establishment. All the staff were brilliant and it was very clean. The menu had something for everyone and we all chose different dishes. I had the crispy chicken and noodles which was exceptional right up there with the best I've ever had, and i have travelled out the far east a lot. Everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their meals. All i can say is that the next time I'm heading out for a meal at a special place then i will be heading to the Blair.

Visited here last Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. Service was very good and friendly, food was enjoyable and the restaurant and toilets were very clean. Plenty of parking so there's no need to worry about finding a space and the menu had a good variety of things on it. Will definitely be back in the future!

Have been a regular visitor here since it's predecessor ' The Blair Tavern' back in 1985! They don't do anything fancy, stick to what they know and are good at it. The food is great and has a lovely atmosphere. We always say ' Let's try somewhere else' , but we always end up back at The Blair'!.

Had been told about the blair first time here and last not good value for the money it is way over priced for what you get portions may be OK for a woman but not for a man I came away still hungry won't be back

I dont know why everyone rates this place ao highly. Very overpriced compared to other places. Foods alright. But nothing spectacular. Place is very crammed. Youl be bumping elbows with other diners. I wouldnt go back. You can get much better food for less money elsewhere. And not be sitting on top of the people beside you

Lovely warm restaurant for dinner in the winter. I had the steak pie which was lovely although a little salty. The chips were amazing!! The chocolate fudge cake to finish was ok, nothing too exciting. Would recommend!

Had booked the Blair for a family dinner on a Saturday evening and as usual the place was packed so I do advise booking in advance. Despite being rushed off their feet the staff really are excellent and couldn’t be more helpful.

The overall ambience of this country restaurant is first class from the initial entry to the departure all staff were friendly and efficient A wide ranging menu to cater for all tastes

The food here is delicious and there is plenty to choose from (they typically offer nice choices on the special menu too). Beware, come on an empty stomach - the portions are pretty big!! I would also advise booking before turning up.

Went for dinner on way to airport ! Service was steady as usual ! No vegetarian soup on menu but they do hav extensive veggie and vegan menu ! Had Cesar Salad 5 shrivelled up lettuce leafs hardly any dressing and abt 6 croutons ! Only one type of milk blue to which is very limiting ! On while not good at all when mentioned when I paid bill didn’t appear to care ! Certainly will give a miss as soon many other restaurants in the area x

Having not eaten at the Blair for almost 10 years we were very pleasantly surprised by the excellent layout, furnishings, service etc and we most certainly will try not to wait as long for our next visit. The only slight criticism would be that the portions are too generous, even those on the kids menu.

We visited here in January and was so looking forward to visiting here once again.

We again visited this restaurant for a birthday meal on a Sunday afternoon. The car park , grounds, and entrance to this restaurant are beautifully landscaped. The dining-room was very busy but the ambience was pleasant. The food we had was delicious , well-cooked, well-presented, and very tasty. I started with cullen skink , my mains was pan-fried lambs liver , and my dessert was pavlova. The service was absolutely first-class , polite, friendly, and very professional. Toilets are clean and modern. This is one of the finest restaurants in Ayrshire , totally recommendable.

We have been here several times for lunch and have never been disappointed. Always delicious food, good healthy portions and the dining room itself has a lovely ambience. The staff are lovely and a credit to The Blair.

Good selection of food on offer and nice cosy atmosphere. Staff are a bit rushed off their feet though as we were waiting quite a while for plates to be cleared and deserts offered. Despite that the food was very filling and good sized portions. If I’m ever in the area, I will be returning!

I've been raving about the food at the Blair. Was part of a large party last week and the food and menu is excellent. The menu is quite extensive and has a gluten free alternative. The service was very good we were all well tended to. The staff were very pleasant and courteous.

What a wee find!! I remember the Blair Tavern of old where they sold scampi and chicken in a basket.

Visited on a Tuesday night and what a superb meal we both had .Didn’t have a booking but got a table.My wife had the Blair burger and I had the haddock and both meals were absolutely brilliant.The lady who served us we very helpful and pleasant.As we were just back from holiday we needed some good food and the Blair definitely delivered WELL DONE

I was taken for lunch by a friend who regards this as her local - boy is she lucky to have this on her doorstep. The place is always busy i am told and reserving a table is a must - that tells you all you need to know about how good it it . I really enjoyed the lunch we shared - Mac cheese is the thing i always order where ever i go as my bench mark - and this one is up there as one of the best i have tried

This used to be excellent but the portion sizes have been much smaller the last couple of visits and the price seems to have gone up considerably. It’s a shame really because it used to be great!

Popped in for food on a beautiful afternoon last week. Service was very good and the choice of food for my husband was excellent. As a vegan again the choice was really good. Food was hot and delicious.

My wife and I had a Meal their on Saturday the 3rd of August, again an Excellent meal, Great choice of Menu and as always the service was brilliant, will be back.

My mum and brother visited The Blair today for lunch; my mum had the steak pie and my brother had Cajun chicken pasta. We’ve all been to the Blair many times and I’ve been ill once before, but when I seen them after work today, I could not believe it. They think it was the steak pie as my mum had this and my brother tried it. They were both sweating, shaking, dizzy and could not get out of the toilet! None of us will never be back after this. Such a shame as lovely restaurant and staff really nice, but too expensive to risk that happening. It’s now 9.50pm and my mum is still completely ill.

What is it with restaurants/hotels in Ayrshire? Wherever you go....same old, same old!

Just had lunch here for the first time, my sister and niece had been before and raved about it. They took me along today and I was not disappointed! The food was exceptional the staff were lovely the ambience great. I would recommend this place to anyone, extremely good value for money and the portions are huge, but you get to take leftovers home.

Visited on a busy Friday night. Good service, friendly staff and nice surroundings. We both started with tempura which was enjoyable and a good sized portion. Let down by poor, basic side salads which had no dressing. The burgers we had for main course were huge and tasty as were the onion rings. The poor side salad featured again. The small french fries type chips were nothing special. Lemon meringue pie for dessert was far too sweet with little lemon tang. Drinks on the expensive side with a basic gin and tonic costing £5.90. A popular place but could do better.

Came here after a few friends recommended it.And are we glad we did.

Went for a meal at lunch nice surroundings easy to get to thought the tables were to close together and my potatoes were cold and chips were not hand cut and were not good but steak pie and sausage was good could be better if these improvements were made as place is nice

Surprise visit for me with my family for my birthday. Greeted with a warm welcome as usual. Staff very pleasant and attentive. Plenty of choice on all the menus. Caters for everyone. Our meals were all tasty as usual. Compliments to the Chef. The kids really enjoyed their meals too. Large portions. Didn’t have room for dessert...this time ..definitely be back soon.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here. The food was very good and the portions are big. Staff are pleasant and professional and the menu is varied with lots of choice.

On a short break to the countryside and came across this little gem, rib eye was cooked to perfection and my partners chicken burger was the best she ever had(she is hard to please) had 2 bottles of white both picked by the staff and weren't disappointed with the quality. From start to finish our visit was 5star. Will definitely return.

had a great meal on fathers day - great service - plenty of options for all - very good vegan menu although not vegan tried a couple from the menu - very good curry - warm greeting and very pleasant staff - - others tried the chicken dishes - huge portions, although very busy did not have to wait to be served and food services at a nice timely breaks - will go back again - hopefully soon

We booked The Blair after a recommendation and as had never been had lunch to check it out. We didn’t hesitate and booked it straight away best decision we made. 16 of us descend on the 8th of June and from the moment we arrived the staff were warm welcoming and attentive. There was something on the menu to suit everyone and the food was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and my mum made some wonderful memories. The kitchen staff saved the day when the birthday cake had a malfunction and the staff on the floor went out of their way to make sure everyone was well looked after. All I can say is a heartfelt thank you for making my mums birthday a day to remember.

Last minute decision to visit here with my brother and 11 month old baby. Arrived and greeted warmly at the reception desk and although we hadn’t booked it wasn’t a problem to get us a table. 2 menus to choose from and I am dieting so wanted to tweek my choice and again they were very receptive. Food was lovely and warm and there was lots of choice. Brothers enchilada looked amazing and I had Cajun chicken salad which was equally delicious. Would definitely come back!

The atmosphere was calm, although the restaurant was busy. The menu was so full of Scottish favourites with a modern twist that it was difficult to choose. Served on sizzling hot plates, our food was just great.

Our first visit to The Blair was most enjoyable the food was plentiful and such a variety to choose from. The staff were friendly and we were made welcome as soon as we arrived. Definitely a place to visit

I have been there a few times,and have always had a exceptional meal. The staff are so warm,and friendly into the bargain. My only minute concern is if you happen to be seated in the middle. It can be a wee bit interrupting when a staff member slowly circles the tables,which seems like every 30 seconds. But overall 5 Stars from me,top class!!

The Blair has been a feature of the culinary scene in North Ayrshire for many years.

The Blair has been a regular for us every Hogmanay with frequent visits throughout the year.The food is excellent in particular the Cullen Skink, The menu has something for everyone.

Friends who live in Irvine introduced us to the Blair - I am very glad they did. It is highly recommended to book as it tends to be very busy over the end of the week. There is a large off street car park with gardens that are kept very neat and tidy. They have a small selection of gift ideas in the reception area along with very comfortable chairs if you have to wait on your table. Staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. We were attending to celebrate our friends daughters birthday. The staff had the cake and special balloons all organised. I would recommend that you have a look around at fellow diners plates to appreciate the large portions which are served. If you have a sweet tooth I would skip the starter as the main course is generally humungous!!! The food does not suffer for this and is extremely well cooked and delicious. When we were at our coffee the staff brought through the cake whilst singing Happy Birthday. The other diners joined in the singing making it really special for the birthday girl. This is not the cheapest restaurant to eat at but the portion sizes, quality of produce and the fantastic flavours more than make up for spending a little bit more. There is the option of Doggy Containers.

Had not been to the Blair Tavern for ages. The grounds and exterior of the building are absolutely immaculate, while the warm, raised 'open' gas fire in the lobby was extremely welcoming.

I have been to the Blair a number of times but Friday afternoon was outstanding. A special mention to the staff who were attentive, warm and friendly, as usual.

Having heard so many rave reports about this establishment, thought it was time to pay a visit. A Saturday evening, so naturally very busy - had booked for 6pm. The dining experience food wise was fine and the environment also very pleasant. On this occasion however the thing that badly let this eatery down was the service from the kitchen. There were plenty of waiting staff front of house, but clearly a major glitch in the back of house operation. Left the restaurant at 8.45pm having had some drinks at the table, one starter, 3 mains dishes and teas/coffees! The table next to ours came in after us, had drinks, 3 courses and left about half an hour or so before us!

We have dined here many times over the years and always found the staff very friendly and the food excellent. So once again we’re not disappointed and introduced our Spanish in-laws to good Scottish food including Cullen Skink.

The Blair is so easy to find situated as it is right on the A736 en route to Irvine..it has a large carpark and once you step inside you can sit for hours enjoying sumptuous food in a relaxing, homely setting not realising the time pass by..staff are lovely and professional and keep you updated on waiting times between courses..The food is always lovely and the portions are generous so ensure to leave room for dessert as it lives up to your expectations..A visit is a treat, reserved for special occasions which make the experience so enjoyable..well recommended

If you haven’t tried the Blair I’d defo recommend it.

We eat here a lot and it is very consistent. Tonight was particularly good. The staff are always professional and the service is always seamless. I had the steak pie and it was divine.
