Excellent service from FOH girls. All staff were proactive constantly. Quality of food was superb. Really enjoyed the dinner and for desert the sticky toffee pudding was delicious. Good prices too Also will mention my son can only eat a very specific selection of food so options are minimum and the colour of food has to be right (not burned or under cooked food. The team offered to make him chicken nuggets and chips. BIG thanks goes to the chef and team for that. Highly recommended!

Went here for Sunday lunch and it was lovely. Very friendly staff and the food was cooked perfect and the price is very reasonable. Will definitely be returning regularly.

First meal out, Sunday dinner for over a year. Booked and family visited. However sat on table opposite very busy kitchen door ordered 3 nut roasts and one main meal. Received quorn roast which I have served for past few months sorry but so disappointed!!! Returned my food as I could not stand another quorn roast vegetables basic.

Love this pub as just down the road from us which is great during local lockdown, friendly staff and Mike and Adele the landlord and landlady are really friendly. Had Sunday lunch on 13 September absolutely delicious- beef, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing ball, boiled and roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, carrots, cabbage, swede, peas and gravy, highly recommend. Also went here on 18 September and I had homemade chicken curry half and half, hubby had homemade steak and mushroom pie with filo top, chips and gravy which was so nice he brought one home!

The staff here are very friendly, we had a lockdown Sunday lunch, plentiful and tasty.The meal was late, and what a lovely gesture, they wanted us to have free of charge, insisted on paying, but appreciated how thoughtful some people are.Returned yesterday for pub lunch, lovely people, couldn’t be more friendly.Had the chicken curry, delicious and piping hot. Also two corned beef pie meals ordered which was commented on how lovely and plentiful.Great price.Lovely pub well worth visiting.

Great takeaway lunch during lock down. Served in fab takeaway cartons. Really efficient and professional staff. Would recommend.

Went here for the first time today with my Husband. So glad we did, the starters were delicious and wow....the Sunday dinner was gorgeous! We both went with the beef. The beef was so tender, plenty of fresh vegetables and an excellent price. The service was brilliant and the atmosphere was lovely. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning.

We have enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch on two occasions recently. The food was very good with generous portions and at a good price. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. We would recommend and hope to return soon.

Went for a meal and drinks with family we had a very warm welcome the food was very tasty and hot . Will be back also spent new year's eve there we had a fantastic time with a free buffet and disco .we will be returning always have a great time

Last minute decision to pop out for Sunday dinner and so glad we did. No fussy presentation it’s just great home cooked food just like your Nan used to make and there’s plenty of it. To top it off it’s great value!!! Definitely going back.

Cold looking interior not very warm and welcoming. Meal was average nothing to write home about. Would not be an establishment that I would revisit

My wife and I visited there on the off chance to an evening meal. What a find, the welcome was warm and friendly. We sat in the bar area while waiting to be seated at our table. Lady who was serving us was excellent in every way. Good choice on menu and food was hot delicious and very well presented. Chips to die for. All in all a great night and reasonable prices. Will visit again.

Excellent service and a great lunchtime menu. The food comes fast and is piping hot. Perfect to fit into a lunch break. Highly recommended.

Quite simply the best Sunday lunch in this area. Lovely atmosphere, pleasant, professional staff and delicious food. Quality food for a reasonable price.

First time in this after a family member recommendation . We popped in Saturday afternoon 3:30 pm although not busy which can be a bad sign we were welcomed by a fantastic roaring fire flag stone floor and general good feeling . We asked the lady behind the bar about food and she said yes they were serving all day . I can only assume that perhaps people think that they only start at 5pm however this is not the case. The service was excellent the food far better than I was expecting . I had Beef Madrass with Rice which was really good and very good value for money . Keep up the good work guys and I am 100% sure that the business will flourish !!! We will be back very soon . We will try the Sunday Lunch next time.

Both bar and restaurant are clean, bright and airy but still retain a cosy country pub feel. Lovely outdoor area for a drink in the sun. Perfect!

Had Sunday lunch and it really was just wonderful, large portions of lovely quality food. The service wasn't the quickest but certainly worth the wait. But it was very pleasant sitting in nicely decorated and super super clean restaurant. Certainly recommend.

Was recommended by another family, they said it was fantastic. Although i wouldn’t say fantastic it was very good, beef was very tender and all freshly cooked. The prices were very reasonable and we will deffo go back.

Food lovely very clean and staff very friendly especially the young boy.Decor clean good selection of food .Best steak and ale pie I have tasted . My husband had mixed grill is was perfect. Fir deset we had homemade chocloate brownies stunning.

I went here with my boyfriend for a quick evening out and I can honestly say it is the cleanest pub I have ever been too! The man who served us was very friendly and made us feel very welcome, and the atmosphere with the big log fire was just perfect! Not to mention the food was tasty and clearly homemade. Would 100% recommend!!

Well what can I say. This is the best pub lunch I have had. Good prices. Lovely food. I doubled up on a burger and it was massive. Mum had gamon and Dad a chicken burger. Very large portions, but more important great quality.

Went for an early mother's day meal. Warm welcome. Food was excellent, plenty of it, presented well and very good value for money. Service was very good too. Will be visiting again soon

11 of us enjoyed a delicious birthday meal. All meals were very well cooked and presented. The portions were generous and the food was tasty. The desserts were also delicious and reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and the service good. The log fire created a very warm and welcoming atmosphere.Our next visit will be for Sunday lunch

Absolutely Stunning!! This is my second visit but with the other side of the family. We went for sunday roast. I had the need dinner it was faultless! Beef melted in my mouth, massive home made Yorkshire pudding, massive home made roasties, veg cooked to perfection! And absolutely loved the home made cauliflower cheese! Extremely generous portions. Meat, potatoes n yorkie came on plate and veg in bowls to help yourself.

Visited with family for lunch outstanding food again and staff were joy to spend time with in the bar after we.d finished. Will visit again soon.

Been several times on a Thursday after work. Each time the good has been really nice Ely presented, tasty and good size portion, wine is nice, pleasant surroundings and enjoyable background music. Really enjoy my Thursday evenings here.

We had Sunday lunch it was very tasty, it came to the table piping hot there was 12 of us & we all managed to eat the same time as the service was impeccable .. only 3 youngsters serving the whole pub but they do a fantastic job very polite & patient which is needed when there is 12 of you..

We are new to the area and initially popped in for a drink - so glad we did! Took some visitors there yesterday lunchtime for a meal and we were delighted. The food was well presented and great quality. Such excellent value for money and run by people who care about what they do! And the chef is great! We were so impressed we booked a table for Sunday lunch and are thrilled to have found this charming, gem of a place on our doorstep!

The food was faultless, the surroundings were excellent as well as the service being first class and it being of a high standard of cleanliness. Would recommend to anyone.

Lovely meal, well presented and enjoyable. The staff are very welcoming and attentive. The decor was attractive and everything spotlessly clean. (Fab xmas tree) Would definitely recommend and we will be returning very soon.

Visited as a party of ten for a birthday. Greeted with a very warm welcome despite turning up before opening hours. The Sunday lunch was delicious with a great choice for all courses. Fantastic place, fantastic service and fantastic food.

I came to the black prince with my family for a evening meal and the food was brilliant all I could hear around the table was how nice the food was. I had the princes burger was nicely presented and very filling. the staff are very kind and make you feel welcomed you will not be disappointed I highly recommend the black prince.

Dined here today with friends and the food was outstanding. For starters I had carrot and coriander soup which was really flavoursome and the others had garlic mushrooms. All that could be heard around the table were murmurs of approval.

Been a regular at this pub for years and since being taken over by Simon and Norma the pub has been transformed. The meals really are excellent, you will not be disappointed!

Brilliant staff, great food and a good pint to go with. This is a lovely little place for any occasion, I can't recommend it enough.

Such a lovely place and friendly atmosphere! bar staff was brilliant especially Norma is amazing! Chef Gareth I believe was highly respectable in presentation for the food there and tasted outstanding! restaurant well decorated and got that Christmas feeling with the open fire! Went into bar after for a drink and was welcomed by everyone! Great place highly recommend it!

Well what can I say!! We have eaten here, on a number of occasions now, and once again pure quality very friendly welcome as always, Simon and Norma are lovely friendly owners who along with the staff cannot do enough for you to make sure that your experience is the best it can be, along with a very talented young chef who never stops creating new dish that don't disappoint. So if you fancy a little treat get booking asap. We will be returning shortly.

I had a fab night here with my boyfriend for our 4 month anniversary together. It was the first time we had both been here. The food was great..a lovely range on the menu. We didn't have to wait long for food or drinks. The service and approachability of the staff was top notch. I would definitely recommend.
