I visited Bierkeller Birmingham and was thoroughly disappointed. The experience was negative from start to finish. Despite the venue being mostly empty, we were forced to wait in an unnecessarily long queue. Once inside, the rude and unhelpful staff made us feel anything but welcome apart from one young man who seemed frustrated at the manager’s decisions of serving. The issues didn’t stop there. I was shocked to find no locks on the toilet doors, which is simply unacceptable. Drinks were of poor quality, completely overpriced, and left much to be desired. To top it off, the website advertised food service, but there was none available when we arrived. We felt misled and disappointed considering we placed a booking with a £20 deposit each! The pretzel we were offered was burnt and tasteless, and the staff who delivered such pretzel threw it on our table without a word exchanged. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend Bierkeller Birmingham—save your time and money!

Had an unforgettable time at Bierkeller for Oktoberfest! The atmosphere was electric, with traditional Bavarian music and the staff dressed in festive attire, making the experience feel authentic and fun. One of the standout moments was receiving cocktails in pint sizes—definitely a pleasant surprise and a great value! The food was equally amazing. Along with classic Bavarian dishes, we were given a giant, soft pretzel that was the perfect pairing with our drinks. Everything came together to create an incredible night. If you're looking for a lively Oktoberfest experience, Bierkeller is the place to be!

This was my first time at Bierkeller for my sisters 60th and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere was banging,music excellent 👌🏾. The door staff were very very helpful and polite. Thanks for a fab experience

We booked for Oktoberfest at 7:30, didn't get in until 8 and didn't get served our drink included with the ticket until 9:30, 2 hours later! The drinks were also wrong, we only received a pint instead of a bigger stein, and the beer was off so was undrinkable. Paid £20 for a pretzel and and 2 hour wait.

We went for an Oktoberfest evening, prior to arrival we had booked steins (which turned out to just be regular pints) for our party, these took near enough 2 hours to arrive and the beer was absolutely vile. Other than that the atmosphere was decent and drinks were not outrageously priced.

Staff are rude and confrtational ruined the brunch waiting 40 plus minutes for a drink because no one serves the middle of the bar

Went here with new girlfriend and her friends and was disappointed I booked oopah band and got a comedian, I used to go regularly in 70s and 80s when it was a bavarian establishment now it's for hens and stags

I took my partner and her friends here but although the staff were friendly and attentive, Unfortunately the room was half empty and so we didn't feel the atmosphere this is to include we booked for OOPAH BAND AS STATED WHEN I BOOKED EARLIER IN THE YEAR. WE WERE treated to a comedy oopah show although it was good it wasn't what we booked bar was empty apart from this we all had a good evening. We were expecting an evening entertainment through till 11.30pm as I have previously been to bierkeller when it was needless alley and broad street I person felt let as I justed it was oppah bands when I used to go. Went for the r n b brunch. Place was packed and people going for it from early doors. This is a party place and people going for it. Not for anyone seeking a quiet time for sure. Security was tight but polite. Drinks were reasonably priced and there are people were having shots from trays that were bring brought around. I think people will enjoy this if they are seeking some fun. Dj had an mc also and this worked well with the crowd playing popular r n b soul house and garage mostly. Mainly groups of females I would say.

Attend RnB Brunch, which was good! Definitely recommend that. However the Bierkeller itself was average and the toilets are gross. Just needs sprucing up a little.

We booked ahead of time a darts, beer and food deal. It cost £110, and we booked it for 7.30 arrival. When we arrived, we stood for 10 minutes or so before someone actually spoke to us. They knew nothing of the booking, luckily I had my confirmation email. They seemed unsure about what we had booked, and made me question if anyone had ever booked it before. We received our 3L beer, bottle of prosecco and we asked about food. At 7.40 we said we would like the food as soon as it could be ready, we ordered the wings platter. At about 8.15 someone who I presume was the manager asked us what food we wanted and we clarified the wing platter and queried the wait time, as it had already been 35 minutes, but we weren't really given an answer. There was an arsenal game on and there was probably 30-40 people in the bar, there were people going to the bar and ordering and receiving food before we received ours. When we questioned how long for the food, we were told this is the busiest they have ever been and that the food would be ready soon. At 9.15 we asked again and were told it would be ready soon and they were doing the last few bits now. After two hours, and after most people had left because the football match had ended our wings platter came out. It was just fried goujons and wings, with waffle fries and a cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was stone cold. We asked for sauces for the chicken goujons and were told they didn't have any. £110 was a complete rip off. Would I go again? No. If you want a game of darts, or pool with very slow staff members, mediocre beers and huge food wait times. Then here is fine. But there are much better places within walking distance.

Booked a table to be used towards a bar tab. Drinks were cheap enough but the place is an absolute dive and nothing like other Bierkeller we've been to. No long wooden tables, just a cheap sports bar with uncomfortable furniture, folk behind the bar that don't really know what they're doing. Ordered chicken wings with fries. What we got were deep fried chicken strips with fries, cooked by the same guy working the bar. Very Iceland esque. Food definitely not worth it!

Advertised the 6 nations with flags and posters advertising the games plus Guiness advertising ....but 30 minutes into the game they change to a random football game and displayed the rugby with no sound at all but blaring out the football..... 6 nations happens once a year! Why advertise it and then cut it off half way? Disgusting Plus service was so slow and very understaffed for a Saturday.... needs a lot of work, not surprised they have a bad rating

Run down feeling bar, staff was nice but toilets smelt beyond awful and the pool tables were a bit worn. Was a GF lager but smelt bad and tasted worse.

Had good fun here for a Christmas work do. Staff are helpful and pool tables were good. Food is limited and not the best quality. But great for beer and pool tables.

We were looking for somewhere for our works Christmas night out, and somebody suggested the Bierkeller. Having been a few times at the previous location I thought it was a good idea. And I’m so glad we did. What fun we had. Atmosphere was great. Really liked the change of venue too, seemed more intimate. The waitresses and bar staff were all really friendly. I’ll be back soon to try the food as what we saw looked lovely. I will definitely be recommending it to others too. Thanks guys for a fabulous night :)

Waiting over an hour for drinks to be brought to table, and this is a very, very small place, not even as big as some pubs !!! Had already ordered and paid for a ‘Stein’ of beer in advance ( group booking ) and was given a small bottle of beer as i wanted non alcohol. I made this point clear to the waitress who said she would check, came back saying this was all i was allowed !!! Group leader complained also and eventualy all i got was a second small bottle. Shocking !!! Likewise with food. Most people had finished their meal before we even got ours !!! Had a vegan bratwurst which was just a bog standard vegan hot dog. And as for the ‘Oompah Band’ advertised, there wasn’t a single instrument in sight, just two blokes in poor ‘look alike’ Oktoberfest outfits with a sound system playing music. Pathetic ! And i don’t class ‘I am the Music Man’ nor ‘I’m Gonna Be (500 miles)’ and similar as ‘Bavarian type music’ ??? And on until 01:00 am ??? Errrrrr, i don’t call 20 past 10 at night ‘01:00 am’ !!! Three of the girls left at 9:15 as it was so poorly ran. Oh, and if like one of the girls you order a ‘Stein’ cocktail, and expect ‘lots’ of alcohol as such a large glass, forget it, you will get a Stein full of fruit juice with, if your lucky, a single shot in it ? And all this, a small beer, a hot dog, a fraud ‘band’ for £35 !!!!! I only paid this for the ‘real deal’ in Munich at the Okterfest for TWO Steins of ‘proper’ German beer, a full meal, a ‘real’ band and from 5:30 pm to 11:00 pm and with a tent with around ‘6,000’ people in to be served and looked after !!! It’s a shame as this Bierkeller could be so, so much better !

Wings and chips, after 30 minutes the wings came out cold, after 45 minutes I asked about the chips, got told I have to wait for the supervisor. After another 15 minutes I just asked for a refund. I was told I had to wait for the supervisor. Took another 15 minutes before being told I'd have to wait 3-4 working days for a refund. Worst service I've seen. Female with the plates was incredibly rude and whatever supervisor she was talking about deserves to loss his job.

Horrible customer service, waited 40 minutes for chips and a hot dog, they were both cold once given to us and it was not busy. Then I told a female worker that there was no toilet paper in the female toilets. 1 an hour, still no toilet paper, her responses were so rude each time. There was one guy who was lovely and very helpful, but the female worker who was so rude really ruined it for me. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Drinks are the same price as a nice place with way better customer service

Would never come back. The brunch is 0/10. Dead vibes. The customer service is abysmal. The food was awful and terrible visibility about what’s in the food (ordered something that I thought was without cheese. It was DOUSED in it. They wouldn’t change it even though they didn’t display it wasn’t suitable for people with lactose intolerance. Awful. Save your money.

Went for a brunch event but food was not included in ticket. Anyway the food we did buy was lovely, jerk chicken dinner and jerk wrap. Expensive for a wrap (£10) but was flavoursome and made up for cost. I would eat the food again and staff seemed friendly when ordered drinks, but would not do an event there again. Also not sure if they have a lift but there are stairs to get to the area so bear in mind if mobility issues.

We flew all the way from Finland to Birmingham and had the worst service I’ve ever got. We paid for over 100 peoples’ food but 30 didn’t get their food at all. Also paid for DJ that didn’t never show up, and Bierkeller blamed it all on us.

Me my friend went to an R&B brunch here. The only thing good about this place was the music! The place was so unorganised. We we're left waiting for 40 minutes to be served at the bar. Then the bar staff didn't know how to make drinks that we're on the menu. The ladies toilets had no toilet roll In and after we told them an hour later there still wasn't any toilet roll.

Good pool tables but alcohol is pricey

Had a fab time at the R&B brunch, fabulous atmosphere, everyone singing and dancing, only downside you spent more time at the bar queuing for drinks, my suggestion at these events, double you team and you'll double your takings.

Went the other day. Preordered food and drinks. Ran out of food so some didn't get any. Drinks were half poured into the steins, but they didn't know what drink was in which picher. Staff were useless.

Loved it, got told off for being a naughty boy and banging the table too loudly with my hand.. but Leon Edwards was kicking Kamaru Usmans teeth in again, so I couldn't help it. Great venue, plenty of screens, very well made tabletops. 5/5 would thump again.

Went to a 90s and 00s event, music was okay, not strictly as expected quite biased to a few specific genres which was a shame, bar service was slow and unorganised, for £20 pp just for entry wouldn't go again

If you like bad cabaret acts and want to enjoy a mildly xenophobic evening full of 80s style jokes and watered down alcohol. Then this will be great for you.

This is a review for the "Bierkeller" which we've just been told doesn't exist outside of Saturdays and specific events - despite posters and online ads that promise "after work social" from 4-8pm Monday to Friday. Actually this is a sports bar "Shooters". To say we're disappointed doesn't quite cut it. This place looks great if you want to watch the football and play a game of pool - there are loads of TVs and pool tables. Its a very large, open room with minimal seating. Be mindful of the "Bierkeller hype" because aside from some vague posters, there's little evidence of it here. Stick to pool, darts and football - and save your Oktoberfest expectations for Albert Schloss.

We ordered food for 120 people and over 25 people didn't get any food. Place manager said it was our fault.

Worst service I have ever got. We paid for over 100 persons food and over 30 person didn’t get any food. For one drink and a food it was 20£ per person. Ridiculous. We also had a DJ booked by this place that never came to play. He just came and said that “they don’t need DJ” and left when we were playing music from one of our friends phone. When we asked about these things, the staff said that it is our fault. These people just doesn’t care about their customers.

Went here for RnB Brunch, my definition of brunch is food that's too late to be called breakfast too early to be lunch. We paid almost £20 for a ticket to find out when we got there that that was just for rum punch that tasted like juice and music. They didn't let us in until 12:10 and they finished the unlimited Punch at 12:50 when it should have been 13:00. Now let's move onto getting a drink, my niece a d friend was at the bar for about 30 mins when I decided to assist her in getting served quicker. I was also there for 20 minutes while the bar staff avoided eye contact, it was only when I heard one of the bar staff say to another that I'm not serving them meaning all of us stood at one side of the bar. When I asked the member of staff if they are serving at that side of the bar she said there not supposed to. How was we supposed to know that when there was no sign saying this and instead of the bar staff ignoring us they could have let us know. Even the lady who was probably the manager doing table service was ignoring us who you would think would know better. In saying all this the music was on point but I won't be paying £20 to listen to music again and have a few watered down rum punch

Attended an event here this weekend, was alright place was fairly modern and clean. Drinks were taking a long time waiting almost 20 minutes at the bar. I get that it’s busy and cocktails take ages but having stuff more organised or even ready made for the future wouldn’t be a bad thing to speed things up.

Absolutely shocking, pre-booked and never received our drinks in 3 hours, also got showered with huge chunks of ice from the air con machine, will never return, terrible service and terrible experience

We attended the soul night here. The organisation was really good. We were checked in by pleasant staff, given wristbands and a glass of wine then shown to our seats.The drinks were a bit on the expensive side , maybe?! The compere was excellent, inviting us to join in with the singing and dancing. The houseband was good. Again, engaging us in singing along. The food was brought to us . It was a simple dish, chicken, (or substitute for vegans), with BBQ sauce,mash and green beans and to follow a tasty cake topped with cream and a wafer. It took a long time to serve everyone,but with so many tables to get through it's not surprising. Once the band had finished the fun carried on with the compere and a DJ. An enjoyable few hours .

Absolutely love it! 6 of us went (3 couples) and we had such a good time. Steins of beer for the guys and Steins of cocktails for the ladies. Danced of the benches to nostalgic songs, followed the hosts dance moves and watched the competitions on stage by the participants. Will definitely return, highly recommended 👌

Had a fun filled night celebrating my husbands 50th. Invite the right crowd of people and enjoy the entertainment. Great value for money, for £18 we had stein of drink, onion rings or fries, a shot on arrival, entrance fee and entertainment. My husband even got to play in the band and he loved it. Would definitely recommend a night out to celebrate anything here 🎉😁

Great night with plenty of great music for everyone to join in. Even the staff behind the bar and at the front seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Ok night but didn’t appreciate bar tender taking a almost full stien from table when I went to toilet , and proceeded to be rude when I asked where it is. So when u go don’t buy a stien if u have a small bladder they will snack it and not give U anything in return and expected u to pay and other £10

After reading all the bad reviews I requested to cancel a booking as I had no faith the venue would be open.. Was told booking fees are non refundable.

No kitchen sink in bierkeller kitchen no where to wash your hands,food going out to customers without clean hands Romanoff vodka poured into Smirnoff bottle to sell to customers on rnb brunch this was on cctv but just on my phone happy to drop it up here but weights and measure first Furlough fraud on me and many other staff when questioned they have nothing to say.. Pension taken but not there l,wonder where that gone..keep changing company name as in debt all the time You don't even deserve one star You refuse to pay me to get one over me I will return the favour its in my nature

A group of us came on Saturday 12th to the r&b brunch and it was amazing! The DJ who did the r&b set was on fire and an absolute credit to the venue. I've been to others that were nowhere near as lively as this... the crowd were just going crazy for the music. Will definitely be back!

Totally impossible to have a conversation due excessively loud music, floor was sticky, decor needs a load of work. Environment was dark, and depressing. I will not be going to this venue again

As of 28/09/21, despite the website saying the place is open, only the snooker bar (Shooters) downstairs is open. We were told that the upstairs (which I assume is the proper Bierkeller, as we were expecting) is only currently open for private events. Still had a decent time and played the first game of pool on a brand new table (which was pretty cool ngl), but I can’t recommend this place due to how misleading it was. Staff were nice but not very well trained

Booked a event to be told when I called them it's longer going ahead. If i didn't call who was going to update me. Their phone lines closed and looks like there bank accounts are to. Was promised a refund but 1 month later still waiting . Beware they are still taking bookings but are not open.

Do not book it is a CON. They took a booking for 25 girls on a hen . Called them to add 2 more guests and was told they are not opening. They said i could have a full refund. 5 weeks later still no refund and THEY are now ignoring my emails its disgusting. PLEASE PLEASE NO NOT BOOK, THEY ARE STILL TAKING BOOKINGS BUT ARE CLOSED. MY BANK ARE LOOKING AT THIS NOW BECAUSE ITS THEFT

PLEASE do not book here!! They happily take your payment for booking, but are closed when you turn up! Social media sites are still advertising taking bookings but they’re ‘temporarily closed’ and will not provide us with a refund. No phone number to get through to talk to anyone, and when you email the bookings team they fob you off and tell you they’ve passed on to their accounts team but never provide an update. We’ve reported to the police who are investigating, highly recommend doing the same if you’ve also been victim to this.

So bad. They were so understaffed that it took us 45 minutes just to order a drink and then an hour for it to actually arrive. 5 minutes later they turned off the music at 9:30 and the lights in anyway even though we paid for until 10. Will never go there again such a waste of money don’t go there the one drink i had (which wasn’t even the one i ordered) was so weak aswell

Where do I start. Awful service, been here for over an hour and still haven't been served. They have one waitress for the entire bar. Not to mention the £11 entry!! Would NOT recommend, DO NOT COME HERE!!

a little on the loud side (tho could be my age lol) got a bit too much by the end of the evening but the atmosphere was good, beer tasted good and wasn't asmuch of a rip off compared to other broad street venues and compare was funny. had a good night over all!

Was brilliant for the RnB brunch, we had am excellent time but can be a struggle to get a drink and table service for jugs and bottles would really help.

14 Dec - 20 minutes waiting at the bar for service prior to going into the main room at 8.15pm. One member of staff serving but it was dead. He took an eternity to make six cocktails. Suggest you employee a cocktail specialist who can make cocktails at speed. Had to argue to get our coats into the cloak room. Informed it was closed due to lack of space but this was untrue. Marketed as traditional Bavarian bar, but entertainment was from London. Music was terrible - all 1970s. I love to dance but was bored by all the same era of music. Had an amazing night two years ago. Last night was very disappointing. Music needs to be current and marketing needs to match the offer.

Great fun, we wanted something slightly different for a team night out and the Beirkeller in Birmingham certainly delivered. Prepare to get very close with strangers as you will be in close proximity but this only adds to the experience. As this was for Christmas we had a pre-booked choice of two possible meals, some of us had pork others had turkey but everyone enjoyed their meals. There was 11 of us so we were quite a big group with a range of ages from 19 to 50's and everyone loved it. There were no problems in getting drinks or moving around to chat to people, there can be a bit of a wait when the staff are making drinks but given the size of the steins some common sense would suggest that it would naturally take longer. Join in, you will not regret it, you will laugh, move and dance until your stomach hurts and then you'll do it again.

Asked to see the bouncers armband and got physically lifted out of the premises. Doesn't seem legit to me. Ironically I knew another bouncy that works there who in his words was "scared of the bosses bouncers because they have more pull"
