I checked in on 20/09 and checked out on the 22/09, stayed in the room 215. The first night, although we slept on a very uncomfortable mattress we managed to have a good night of sleep. However, on Saturday a guest was placed in the room 214 just next to ours. This guest (likely to be a local using the room to party with his mates) had people coming in and out his room throughout the night. They were extremely noisy until 7.30am, it was clear to me that whoever was there was using drugs and i even could see though my window someone who i believe was a dealer coming to deliver stuff to them. It made us feel very unsafe because the hotel do not ask for IDs having no control of who is in or out, and also not having anyone at the reception to tackle this type of behaviour. We had a sleepless night and had to drive 5 hours early next morning. I never heard any apology or offered any sort of compensation. I next day sent the management an email and never had a reply until this date. I'll never stay there ever again! - Creaking floor - Noise - Uncomfortable bed

I had bigger expectations for this hotel, but it turned out to be highly overrated. Upon entering the room, I was greeted by a rotting (& nauseating) smell, which turned out to be coming from the shower curtain. The floors creaked so loudly that it not only disturbed us when walking in the room, but also every time someone walked down the hallway. The bed linens were torn, the bedside lamp was missing a bulb, the walls were cracked here and there, and the peephole on the room door was stuffed with a tissue paper. The bed base was in tatters, and to top it all off, I suspect there were bedbugs in room 213 based on the bites I received. The pictures speak for themselves. Overall, the hotel is completely outdated. Although it wasn't expensive, I expected better for the price. Additionally, there was no alternative milk option at the breakfast, which was an extra charge, despite informing them during pre-check-in that two of our group members are lactose intolerant. Instead of decent coffee, they only offered instant Nescafé powder. I would not recommend staying here.

Stopped in here for a pint just before closing, while travelling around Wales. Michelle welcomed us with open arms. She is truly a lovely person and made this our favourite pub by far. So much so that we came back the following day for lunch and we were welcomed back, by name on walking in. Everyone was lovely and friendly. We would highly recommend coming here, even if it is out of your way. Very special! Lovely atmosphere and we will definitely come back next time we are in these parts.

Came in today and was offered half price cakes. We asked for one then he said buy one get one free. Cheeky way of up selling the cakes. I thought it humorous and quite clever so agreed to two cakes. When the order came, it was one full price cake and no free one. On top of that, he tried to short change me. I called him on it and he had to have the girl help him with the change. It still wasn't correct but I let it slide. Long story short, use a card to pay...

Out of towners here, so we are unaware of what's really good/bad and chose this place as reviews were consistently high but I can't see why after eating here. We walked up a few mountains today so famished and really looking forward to a meal out . Place is very cold inside which personally works for me but most people will find it chilly. I was glad to have read this in reviews so left my jumper and fleece on in case and was glad I did. We were sat at a table with food on all the seats which I brushed off , wobbly table which I have fixed. Clearly understaffed as one waitress in uniform and one other lady in own clothes (really need uniform to promote professional standards) were working. No drinks menu offered and food menu seen better days . Grabbed a drinks menu from a nearby empty table , all moist and worn (see pictures). Wife ordered roast potatoes and chicken, someone needs to explain to the wait staff and the chef the difference between boiled and roast potatoes (see pics). My order penne with chicken and peppers was instantly forgettable - Salad not prepared correctly (ends left on ) and while meal would be impressive for a 8 year old to knock up it lacked any interest in design and taste (see pics). I left hungry but didn't want anything else from here. (McDonald's is about 0.5 miles away thank goodness) Teens ordered 2 x calzones which were deemed just about ok but lacking in filling. Cokes x 6 , sprite x 1 total £85 . I feel sad for the locals if this is the best they have (only The New Inn beat them on reviews but they were fully booked , this place had many tables empty.) none of the above issues are massively major but when put together presented a experience that disappointed us all and would mean we definitely won't return.
