Came in today and was offered half price cakes. We asked for one then he said buy one get one free. Cheeky way of up selling the cakes. I thought it humorous and quite clever so agreed to two cakes. When the order came, it was one full price cake and no free one. On top of that, he tried to short change me. I called him on it and he had to have the girl help him with the change. It still wasn't correct but I let it slide. Long story short, use a card to pay...

I can honestly say I went back to Costa today as I've had a few bad experiences in the shop over the past couple of months with their service but today I went in and a young girl by the name of Ellie served me and although she was rushed off her feet her service went above and beyond she was brilliant and I will definitely be back thanks to this young lady

Get my daily (or more) coffee from these guys and without fail are some of the friendliest baristas I've met. Always able to have a little laugh with you as you wait for your order, and extremely helpful about the options.

Front windows must have a years worth of grime on them , why wouldn't you clean them now and again

Lovely spot for a costa clean tidy with helpful friendly staff and manager, always a pleasure to pop in for a cuppa but it does get busy tho,when i visit Merthyr town i always pop in for a cuppa and a cake or sometimes a toasted sandwich they've now got extra seating outside which is brilliant i think they will be looking for a bigger place soon highly recommend you popping in for a cuppa

My step daughter visited with my daughter this morning. The server wished my daughter a happy birthday (My daughter was wearing a birthday Tiara) and gave her extra soya milk in her hot chocolate as she is only young. If that server does see this review then thank you. You made my daughters day.

Good quality code as always, and friendly service in this Costa. The outside could do with a clean though. Had a nice warm sausage and stuffing ciabatta which hit the spot 👍

Tables emptied by staff but nothing wiped down. No toilet roll, toilet a mess. Served a coffee as just a cup and a spoon, a saucer at least would have been nice and the flies on the cups on top of the coffee machine... 🤮.

It is what it is. Chain store product but you know what you're getting. Fast & reliable. The service was very friendly

Although Costa sent out an Email this morning stating that the shops were still opening for take away orders only and that toilets would still be open for customers this was not the case here, TOILETS ARE CLOSED as the staff would have to disinfect the whole area after each person had used them. Completely and utterly wrong.... customers should be allowed to use them especially to wash their hands to keep everyone safe.

1st visit to this Costa in Merthyr Tydfil and lovely experience. Very spacious and light. Really friendly staff and clean tables....always a bonus. Arrived as a party of 3 with a 6 month old and plenty of space to put an highchaur. We all decided to try one of the new xmas flavours and wasnt disappointed. Irish velvet cappuccino is a must if you ask me! Added a slice of Black forest and white chocolate cake which was a match made in heaven lol. Another bonus was clean toilets which is very unusual at any Costa I have frequented. Well impressed with Costa Merthyr Tydfil

In the forgotten corner of Merthyr on a Sunday, even with minimal staff, this branch seems to cope really well. Relatively clean and tidy. Staff are quick to serve. Poor wifi connection inside for those who cant live without it.

Surprisingly large Costa, with a weird layout to it. Its placing ib the shopping centre makes it quite dull, which isn't helped by the walls. The staff were friendly and helpful though and that helped!

Very expensive! Our table was not cleared from the customer before us although it was not at all busy! The two people working there were chatting rather than clearing tables! Very slow and a long wait for 2 coffees!

Coffee great, as always, but this place is clearly understaffed. Second time I've been here and on both occasions there's been 3 people serving and almost every table was left uncleared and/or unwiped and the sugar this time the sugar had run out too. Simply not up to the standards I expect from Costa.

Costa is a very good coffee and snack business, but, if I say it often enough, they might accept that their prices are LUDICROUSLY expensive, and they ought to be aware that they can grow the business by putting prices in a reality zone . How do Aldi and Lidl continue to prosper?

Staff were great but 1 of them had 2 go and clean the toilets with no apron or gloves them went straight back 2 serving customers. The other member of staff then went 2 repair 1 of the toilet,s and then went straight back 2 serveing customers, I'm not saying they did,nt wash there hands but those germs would b all over there clothes and could b eserly transferd 2 any food or drinks they seem. Think they should av just closed the toilet until after they stopped serving customers

Great little Coffee shop to visit. Staff are always happy, helpful and willing to have a chat. It has a nice atmosphere inside and isn't usually too busy. The Coffee is excellent quality and if you're not happy with it they are happy to listen to what you want and make it just how you like it. The food and cakes can be a bit pricey, but it's all really good quality 👍

Ordered an hot chocolate with cream the guy that served me couldn't be bothered... didn't give me a saucer or a spoon I had to ask for one .. the chocolate went all over the table.. the tables and floor seemed really grubby! 😑
