The Barge and Quarterdeck in Stratford-on-Avon

We visited this lovely bar on a dry but chilly Sunday, the colder weather didn’t bother us as we were wrapped up. We fancied sitting outside & taking in the scenery rather than sitting inside somewhere poky. We ordered drinks & snacks & were served by Wendy & Charley who were both really friendly & extremely knowledgeable about the area & the locally produced beers. Whilst we were here a local man on a bicycle pulling a trailer rode past; a swan he’d rescued sitting regally in tow, Wendy explained how he takes them to nurse them back to health. We cannot wait to come back & next time we will eat here as the food looked yummy, they also cater for gluten free & Wendy talked me through the options. We hope Wendy & Charley are working next time as we couldn’t have wished to meet nicer people. Thank you both & see you again soon!

I would highly recommend The Barge and Quarterdeck when in/near Stratford-upon-Avon. The Wood Fired Pizzas are scrumptiously yummy, with a very nice thin base. A variety of drinks and snacks are available too, and we started off with Pimms. The setting on the busy square near the river is just perfect for enjoying the vibe of this quintessentially English town, made famous as the birthplace of Shakespeare. The customer service absolutely superb. Manager Gary is a perfect host, accommodating & welcoming. A close South African friend, accompanied by her 87 yr old mum, and I had a short window of opportunity to meet up during their fleeting UK visit. The Barge & Quarterdeck doesn't normally take bookings, yet planning ahead and explaining the situation to Gary, he didn't hesitate and kindly reserved the table for us for Saturday lunchtime. He then also held the table for us when I phoned up to say my friends had been delayed coming from Heathrow, and I had totally underestimated traffic and parking in Stratford-upon-Avon. He appreciated the upfront planning and being kept informed, so all turned out great in the end. Throughout our visit, Gary came to check in on us and he added to the pleasure of our short but very enjoyable meet-up! After my friends left to continue their journey, I did some sightseeing, then returned to The B&Q for fueling up again, and Gary was still on top form. Why can't customer service not always be this amazing?!

We stopped for lunch as we are big pizza fans , it’s such a lovely spot to sit and watch all the goings on on the river . We didn’t wait long for our pizzas we got a spicy meat pizza and a pepperoni and mushroom and it was delicious one of the best authentic pizzas I ve had in ages . A must visit , the lady in charge Wendy was lovely stopped and had a chat with us . Can’t wait to come back .

Absolutely delicious pizza and garlic bread with caramelised onions and balsamic dressing. Staff are friendly,lovely place to watch the world go by and enjoy some food and drink. Be respectful this is a business that offers food and drink don't take someone else's food into their establishment and use their tables to eat it, plenty people doing this meaning no place for those that want to eat here.

Wow, apart from the beautiful setting, the staff are very friendly. The bbq meatfeast pizza is fabulous. Thin crust, plenty on filling, lovely and hot and really good value for money, infact we went for seconds. This went down very well with a rosè prosecco and a beer.

Nice spot just by the river cruise and RSC. Wood fired pizzas, a bar and various other snacks. Please note they do vegan pizzas and gluten free base is nachos. was tasty and interesting option to a pizza. The pizzas all look good. Look forward to trying them out once again.
