The Ballycarry Chinese in Larne

Extremely disappointed. Was really looking forward to returning here after a temporary closure, as the food used to be fantastic. Firstly staff were rude to my husband when he went to collect the order as they presented him with a different total than the price I had been told on the phone and he didnt have enough cash with him. Our order was all wrong, so the person who took the order on the phone obviously misheard, but they didn't read it back to me to check. I asked for cashew nuts in my chow mein, which I didn't get, asked for King Prawn balls and got Cantonese style. The chips were overcooked and full of bad bits. My beef was so overcooked and tough I would've been better boiling my boots and trying to eat them instead. Ended up with my wee boy in tears as he had been so looking forward to his meal and couldn't eat it because the prawns were in a sauce that he doesn't like, which is precisely why I get Prawn balls as they come with the sauce separate. We won't be back.

Best takeaway in 50 mile radius.

Had a meal tonight it was really good. Less oil than normal in the rice and noodles. Delivered quickly. 👍👍👍

Order placed at 18.59, rang again at 20.05 and was told that my order had left "ages ago" and should be with me anytime. I shared my concern about the food being cold but was assured it would be hot as the delivery drivers have heated bags. Order arrived at 8.25, cold, soggy and greasy. I rang again and after some toing and froing with someone I was eventually offered a new order but I'd already waited so long. Definitely would not recommend, especially for delivery. Despite the delivery issue I also thought it a bit pricy. Ballycarry Chinese used to be amazing. What happened 🤔

proper chips , great Chinese chow mien and hot Malay curry ,hard to beat this place

Always busy, and as a result don't like to ask questions about the ingredients in the dishes....which is a shame as I like to be plant based.

We ordered to get a delivery which didn't arrive, phoned twice and said they were busy and it was on its way. Ended up cancelling the order as 2 hours was just much to wait!

Waited over an hour for duck pancakes. Gave me just the pancakes and no duck or anything else. Just the pancakes.

Got a collection, They got my order wrong so waited for delivery of proper order, which took an hour to come and they sent an 7-8 year old to the door with it😠 absolutely terrible

Anne who works counter is amazing, no doubt about that. Standard of food and quantity just isn’t what it used to be and has got really expensive. Shame really, as I like to support my local.

Ordered food waited two hours missing over half the order,phone and was told I would have to wait two hours for roast of food to be delivered total joke .if you can't supply what is order in a reasonable time you shouldn't be taking orders

Absolutely beautiful food chips are homemade and very nice curry is perfect all round one of the best take out we've ever had

Disappointing this evening, wrong meal, quite greasy and over cooked.

My family had Two Chicken fried rice and a Pork char sui curry with fried rice. Best Chinese meal we have had in a long time. Young man taking the order was polite and friendly. And very efficient.

Really disappointed tonight with both service and quality of the food. Order was incorrect resulting in having to drive back to pick up missing items, food had to be reheated at home because it went cold. Staff didn’t seem at all genuinely sorry for the mistake. We use this Chinese 1-2 times per week. Usually we have very few problems. After tonight we won’t be using again.

The BEST food and amazing variety of menu but they never answer their phone. I know they're crazy busy but seriously? You can't even just answer and tell the caller to wait?

My local Chinese takeaway. I've always had a good meal out of this place. Good size portions and reasonably priced. A well varied menu and friendly service

Always a good chinese, so good they even deliver to carrick..... and I got to say there are other chinese take out in carrick but people would pay the 5 quid delivery as it's that good. Wouldn't get a chinese from any where else.

I actually can't eat out of another Chinese after this place as no other one comes close to the food it's simply amazing

Super Friendly staff & Cheaper than a lot of other Near by Chinese + Real chips - meal was lovely

We we’re told our takeaway would be delivered within 30-45 minutes and it took 1 hour and 40 minutes for the driver to come. We had already cancelled the takeaway as it was taking too long. The driver tried to argue with my mother about how long it had been and was generally rude.

Chips are better than most Chinese takeaway's

The best Chinese I have been to. Food freshly cooked and dietary restrictions catered for. Service excellent.
