A great independent baker's shop. A plethora of items, including, as sampled today, very well filled breakfast sandwiches, a wide variety of 5 star pies, extremely naughty cream cakes but equally nice and loads of other stuff. Lots of staff give you friendly service either gusto. Well done.

We visited The Bakery and got some pies and sweets to take away. It was really busy and staff were really friendly and welcoming. We got 4 pies for £5.50 which was a steal – we couldn’t believe the sign when we saw it, but it wasn’t false advertising! The pies we chose were cheese & onion, meat & potato, steak and one with mushy peas. We also got a Bakewell slice and a chocolate brownie slice. These were around £1.70 each (we think….), so pricier than the pies. We scoffed the sweets first and they were both really good – texture was nice and chewy and provided the sweet treat we needed. We gave the meat & potato pie to a friend who enjoyed it. The pastry on the pies we had was excellent – thin & crisp – one of the best pie pastries we have had. The filling of the pies were good too, and was a good amount and not stingy like some pies you get. The seasoning and flavours were on point and the only thing that could have been improved was the filling with the mushy peas which was way too sweet. Overall, we were really impressed with the quality of the treats we got and would definitely recommend The Bakery to others, and also hope to visit again in future. Generally great quality bakes for a good price. Check them out!!
