The restaurant has now reopened with some of the waiting staff now running things and doing the cooking etc. The standard of food is still extremely high, with plenty of choice and potions that tend to be on the ‘huge side’. The staff are extremely helpful, friendly and actually appear to be enjoying their jobs! Nothing is ever a problem and they provide ‘doggy bags’ when you have to much meat to eat at one meal. I don't know of anyone who has had a bad meal here.

try to attend every sunday.food is of a very high standard. Bob and his staff could not be more helpful carrying your food to the table and serving an excellent sweet from a trolley with a wide range of choices. philip j.

Our first visit for the Christmas Cardiac rehabilitation group Lunch in Lowestoft. From the tour of the Masonic rooms ( which was very interesting) to the time we left, we could not have felt more welcome. The food was OUTSTANDING, as were the staff. We will definitely be booking this independently for a Sunday lunch

Visit for lunch every Sunday and evening functions too. Great value for money, but struggle to eat 2 courses let alone 3.Always choice of 4 meats and serve yourself to veg. Always 2 styles of potatoes, at least 6 veg etc. Always the gready ones who take loads then take it home ( supposedly for their dogs) but no one objects. Waiting staff friendly, helpful and efficiant. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Usually need to book, but worth a look in to see if tgere is availability.

We arranged a family Sunday lunch carvery, the staff were very accommodating as my son and daughter in law brought along there 6month old twins, service and food were excellent and all at very reasonable prices, we will deferentially go back.

I have regularly attended the hall for charity quiz nights and the food included in the price has always been superb. The licensed bar usually has at least one real ale on too so that 'ticks another box' for me

I have recently been a guest at the Avenue, the food was brilliant, choice of 4 meats, my plate was half covered by the meat before I put the veg on. I do not know what it cost but it was an excellent experience, the young staff were very attentive, pleasant & efficient. I would not hesitate to go back there again.

Tremendous value for money, massive portions and a choice of four meats (or try a little of all four!). Starters (around £4) but beware you will struggle with the rest then! Mains (under £8) and a great spread of desserts (under £4) or just ice cream (£3). Easy parking and a very nice atmosphere in a pleasantly decorated building. If I lived near I would surely visit regularly!

Chef Robert Parker's catering is truly excellent in the Lowestoft Masonic centre. Open from 1200 to 1500, you need to book in advance. The meat selection is good. Turkey, pork, gammon and beef. You can have huge portions if you wish! A wide variety of vegetables is available.
