We unfortunately stopped here on our travels for a couple of drinks and some over priced microwave food, please don’t order the food, the chef looks like he’s just got out of bed with his pyjamas still on. Shame really as the view is magnificent but that’s about it, the beer was like the lines hadn’t been cleaned in a couple of weeks..

I wouldn’t waste your time ordered a kids meal at £10. It came undercooked and then I was told by the chef that they get the food already cooked in and warm it up 👍 says it all really

Food was lovely, don't know if they were short staffed or not but it was a tad slow, wonderful views would definitely visit again.

Nice surprise having a roast dinner in the evening, good food, nice deck in the sun, and dog friendly too, it is up a steep road but get a good view of canal, tnx

Great vantage point of the canal and valley below, however the outside spaces were looking rather tired and run down.

A lovely spot to see the left side view of canal pontcycllste aqueduck which is a masterpiece of its own times and still serving the neighbourhoods👍🏽

Lovely food, welcoming and friendly with fantastic view. What's not to love.

It is well worth the short but steep walk from the canal up to the Aqueduct Inn. It was quiet when we arrived just after 12:00 and we were greeted and seated immediately with an amazing view! The place has a lovely atmosphere and we were made to feel very welcome by our host. We had 4 different meals and each was outstanding, fresh, piping hot and full of flavour! Thank you so much 😃

Unfortunately the establishment needs to review their google details - the phrase outside food allowed means customers can bring their own food onto the premises. The place is small and busy - maybe try The Corn Mill instead 👍

Only in for a drink but helpful and friendly staff and great views across the valley from our table. Beer and wine was good.

It is amazing there my favorite pub they even have a blade 6 dart board with a light and the staff are so kind

Shocking and costly disappointment! By the ratings people with the title 'Local Guide' must get different treatment! With no welcome or atmosphere and so much wrong it couldn't really be put down to an off night! Asked to order an hour ahead as 'it's just a family run restaurant and everything is freshly cooked' - from what the group were given it seemed that meant freshly cooked having been freshly defrosted. Two tough steaks were grey and seemed to have been boiled - presumably microwaved or put on to cook before fully defrosted so they'd steamed instead of being griddled / fried. Two chips and very small portions of poor quality scampi would have been passable in a cafe for half the price. Two seabass with daupinoise-like garlic potatoes were nicely cooked and once the incongruous large carrots, grilled tomato and bed of shredded cabbage were set aside were a fine effort as far as pub food by a home cook goes - unfortunately everything was priced for the quality you'd get from a competent chef in a restaurant so all our expectations were unfounded. A shame for a potentially lovely venue.

Had a family meal here that was very nice. We had an elderly relative with us and the staff were fine with him just having soup rather than a full meal. Nice and quiet mid week.

Croesco from the Aquaduct Inn! We went there at lunchtime today, we ordered 2 pints of Cheshire Cat, my friend asked the old lady behind the bar 'is it OK for dogs to come in?' she looked straight through him with a face like a Welsh Dragon, didn't acknowledge the question and carried on doing what she was doing........must be that famous Welsh hospitality we hear about! a member of staff visibly rolled their eyes at the non response...obviously not the first time!! Whilst pulling our pints when she was ready, I heard the old lady behind the bar mutter something to another member of staff about the glasses she was using for our drinks as being 'Minging' ...hmmmm. The 'Cat' was below average and when served in 'Minging' glasses it really brought out the Hoppiness...Yum. We won't be going back and I'd advise you not to bother, and just so the old lady behind the bar knows who I am, I am the person that when politely putting our 'Minging' glasses back on the bar said 'I'll be sure to write a review for you' We left as quckly as we could..., well... 20mph!

Warm and welcoming with hearty pub food. It was a very nice Sunday roast, and the beef was delicious. Apple crumble was nice however I could tell it was reheated due to the film on the top of the custard. Nice overall and beautiful view of the area.

Popped in late night for a tipple. Good selection of beers and both the staff and local clientele were lovely. Most of the pub had character with some interesting photos. The room leading out to the balcony is a bit bland and boring, though comfortable enough with a log burner. It may have been a nice view from the balcony but it was dark when we were there.

A real (not so hidden) gem! The landlady and barman were both incredibly welcoming to us as a group of 10 and accommodated us on the balcony, which has stunning views, as well as when we wanted to move inside to eat. The food was truly delicious, a smaller menu but every single item surpassed expectation and the service matched! Would highly recommend to anyone in the area, especially if you’ve just done the aqueduct.

Our Sunday Lunch was the most amazing meal I have had during our whole holiday. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. They humored us with all our American questions!

Tucked away in a picturesque hillside setting, this pub offers a stunning view overlooking the aqueduct, making it a perfect spot to unwind. The outdoor decking area is a highlight, providing an ideal vantage point to take in the beautiful surroundings. While we didn’t sample the food, the overall ambiance and upkeep of the pub were impressive. The facilities, particularly the clean and well-maintained toilets, were a notable plus. Service was both prompt and welcoming, and the pub boasts an excellent selection of beers. I opted for a refreshing Moretti this time. If you find yourself in the area, it's well worth stopping by for a pint or two to enjoy the atmosphere.

We were so happy to see a lovely pub with Great Vegan / Plant Based options, and even happier with the quality of food! Fresh homage chips abs onion rings to die for. Beautiful views upon the terrace!

Arrived just in time for Sunday pub quiz. Lovely location (outstanding view from balcony) & helpful staff. Seemed to be a good range of food though were not serving meals when quiz on. There was a very nice cheeseboard/ meat & vegan snacks thrown in - very reasonable. Really enjoyable evening. Hope we can come back soon

Great view from the tarace. You can observe maneuvering boats from above . However there are only few tables on the tarace. We had Sunday Lunch offfer. It was a very delicious. On one hand- tasty as at mum’s dinnner, on the other hand the food was excellently plated: looked, smelled and tasted delicious. Tender chicken, very tasty gravy and all the different veggies made the perfect meal. Our kids are usually picky but this time they ate it all! Definietly we will come back! ( familly with 3 kids)

Appalling service, we waited for 45 minutes just to find out that what we ordered was not available. We are party of 5 people. And waited for another 40 minutes for food to arrive. Below average food as well. Suppose to be a Sunday roast 😒...

Situated a short walk from the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct with views over the Llangollen canal and surrounding countryside. It's the perfect location to stop off for some liquid refreshments and good food, while enjoying the wonderful view from the outside seating area.

Beautiful views of the aqueduct from their outdoor patio. I had the pasta bolognese and it was delicious! The staff were very kind and eager to please. Highly recommend for anyone journeying along the canals!

Terrible beer. Absolutely appalling customer service. The beer tasted like it had gone off and it was cloudy when it should have been clear. We told the bar and they refused to change it. We returned 3 full glasses to the bar. After much consideration, the beer money was refunded but, sadly, the bar staff's first response was 'not our problem'. Shame as it could be such a lovely pub.

Such a shame as nice pub and lovely food, but not as dog friendly as I had thought. They don’t allow dogs in main eating area and instead I was shown to the side bar area where there was a huge tv and the football was on. Thankfully some lovely costumes I enjoyed chatting to. I am a visitor to the area and a musician and had been recording on the Narrow Boat Sessions so was looking forward to their music night on 3rd Wednesday of the month and on the following night. But because of the football they were running the music session in the non dog area so was told quite abruptly that I wouldn’t be welcome. So as a small dog owner that hates football I was not impressed with their ability to react to circumstances and offer good customer relations!

Lovely little pub up the hill from the canal with a glorious view of the aqueduct. It had a good selection of food and drink choice (plant based etc). All food is made fresh from order so there’s a slight wait but they were upfront about it. Dog and child friendly.

Absolutely marvellous place! We were 4 persons, all ordering 4 different main courses. We all got the food at the same time on hot plates!!! We all thought the food was delicious. Fish, Pork belly, ribs, vegetarian. Staff super friendly! And !!! Best of all! Dog friendly!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Very old quaint Inn, lovely and clean very enjoyable visit

Lovely little place that prepares the meals, fresh on order. As such, you need to be prepared for a bit of a wait, if there is a bit of a crowd. The views are lovely and the venue is just a short walk along the canal to the impressive Aquaduct in Trevor. Locals and staff are friendly. The kitchen is a victim of its own success, seeming to be small relative to the number of seats.

Arrived as a walk in on bank holiday Monday evening desperate for some lamb before leaving Wales after a long weekend up Snowdon. Although they were fully booked they very kindly fitted us in. When I looked at the menu which is hand written on a black board (how it should be in my opinion) to my delight they had lamb chops. Me and my pal ordered the same and they were exceptional. Best lamb chops I've had. Big fat meaty chops cooked to perfection with perfect spuds and veg and melt in the mouth mushrooms which honestly gave the chops a run for there money. All this with a subtle garlic butter melted over.

don't miss this pub and restaurant along the way to pontcysyllte Aqueduct. beautiful inside and outside is overlooking a breathtaking views. Very accommodating and friendly staff served us. Wish we can stay longer but we are driving. A pint of guiness and loads of sight seeing. We will difinely comeback.

A lifesaver....we were walking Offa's Dyke with 2 vehicles and left a set of keys behind. An impromptu venture into The Aqueduct Inn meant we got a welcoming reception from the lady and young man behind the bar to find a taxi for us. While we waited we had a GORGEOUS Sunday lunch with apple crumble and 4 alcohol-free lagers for not much over 40 quid. Great value. Delicious. And a bonus of a great view of Pontcysyllye Aqueduct, as the name might suggest!!! We will visit again for sure. Easy to find on the A5.
