Great food. We got the pensioner's meals. Great value and excellent quality. Staff very friendly and helpful. Loved it. Will be going back!

Sad to see that I went in here, I got told serving food till 4:30pm. I went and put the cars reg no in, then got told by another member of staff stopping serving at 4pm, because of staff shortage. Such thing as an agency for supply staff!

Food was excellent, cheap, big portions, and definitely well worth the money.

Ordered half hotshot parmo it was ridiculously small Burnt underneath was hard in alot of places Hardly no Bechamel sauce, Chips and salad was nice

Discovered this pub by accident as was looking for a greene king, so glad we found it as all 3 meals were top class and value for money, 5☆ just for the chef alone. When next in the Middlesbrough area will definatly call in again for meals. Well done to all the staff keep up the good work, it does make a difference.

Just been there for a meal for my birthday and the whole thing was disgusting. Carpet was dirty, tables, chairs and benches were worn and dated.the place was cold. Waited 30 minutes for meal and it was cold when it arrived. I actually saw meals on pass for more than 10 minutes. My husband should have got a pot of tea with his meal and it never materialised. The whole place needs a complete overhaul. Never again

First time in the Apple Tree. The food was OK, a bit old fashioned in presentation. I've had worse. But it took ages to get our meals and then they were just OK.

Foods great but it feels like a care home.

Nice relaxed atmosphere, easy to have a conversation with my friend. We both had Parmo with was excellent. Big portions (though the chips were a little lacking in terms of amount and heat but not a meal ruiner). Staff were friendly and served quickly. We were surprised at how low the bill was at the end of the night. Will definitely be returning next time I'm in the area.

Nice little pub with very good home cooked food.

Order was wrong and I knew it was going to be because the girl who served me was rude and had no patience and did not listen.

I went for a meal this evening with some friends and had the best prawn salad I've had in a long time. Two of my friends had scampi but the plate was very small and rather expensive for the size of plate. We'll definitely visit again but won't be ordering scampi.

A great pub to watch sports, play darts or pool or to have a few drinks. Great food. Highly recommended.

Helpful staff. Plenty of food choices. Homemade which is why we choose to eat here, always very nice. Always made to feel welcome.

Spot on. 3 x couples went on a Saturday night for a few drinks after being out for a meal. Friendly staff greated us with a smile 😊.

Changing this review as I've been three times since my last review. Staff v friendly and food tastes lovely. Plenty of choice for both meat eaters and veggie. Food can take awhile to get to your table but is all fresh and hot so happy days.

The food has always been really nice & great value for money. The staff are always very pleasant. The only thing that let's the pub down for me are the toilets, they definitely need a good overhaul.

Nice place. The rest of my group had chicken parmesan and they were all delicious. I had the roast beef lunch and really missed roast potatoes and peas. Gravy was thin and salty. Plenty of meat and nice 'real' mash. I wouldn't have another dinner but all of the other food looked great.

NEVER AGAIN ordered 3 meals together, after about a 30min wait only two meals arrived - so we waited and waited … only to find out one meal hadn’t been been cooked with ours. The girl behind the bar handled it in the most shocking way - just told us it was a kitchen error and the other meal would be 10-20mins and walked off !!!!! I asked for the manager, she refunded the money for the meals (mine I didn’t eat as I was waiting for my sons to arrive, and when it finally did - mine was cold) NEVER GOING BACK !!!!

Superb pub. Absolute tragedy that there were Middlesbrough people in there "supporting" Liverpool. Astonishingly needy and pathetic individuals.

Parmo looked nice but i couldn't cut it, the underneath was like card ,we were in a rush or I would have returned it. Disappointed as my friends had recommended this highly hopefully just an off day in the kitchen. Lady behind the bar nice and helpful.

Came in for a quiet lunch with my Grandma. She ordered the pensioners specials - sausage and mash with peas and onion gravy. She said it was delicious tho the mash wasn't quite as mashed as she liked but no complaints otherwise 😂. I had the parmo special with mushrooms, real chicken breast, very tasty and proper chips (not frozen), decent size portions. Lovely pub grub! Nice and helpful staff.

Nice cozy pub live entertainment sky sports and good quality bar meals was my local many moons ago and pleased to say on recent visit still a canny venue, so good going back this weekend to watch a Ska live band .

Always lovely food best parmo ever, staff really canny. Dont hear bad language from their staff, unlike a certain pub down the road from here.

On our recent visit from Northern Ireland, my sister booked us in for a meal and what a delicious meal it was, I had the pork parmo, it was amazing and my partner had the fish and chips.....his comment on your fish and chips was, that it was the best fish and chips he had eaten all week after having them from Seaton, Scarborough and Whitby. Also excellent service, keep up the brilliant work, will deffo be back on our next visit to the Boro. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Had to wait nearly 2 hours for food. The manager should have come to see us but didn't bother. Unfortunately the lasses took the brunt of the complaints. As for the food. Sorry didn't think much to it. Parmo was bland and the bread crumbs on chicken burnt. Chips were the best part of the meal
