The new mini ivy Asia of alwoodley The Alertton Asia just tried the new tasting menu the food is impeccable I’m literally in a food coma as I’m writing this from the duck spring rolls the tempura prawns and the steak all cooked to perfection and service was always with a smile not forgetting the trendy boujee interior design of the whole place.well recommend.my new go to place.👍

Despite having a positive experience, I really struggled finding any reviews prior to going. In certain aspects, it gives me vibes of an upmarket The Old Ball (Horsforth). Allerton Asia has been well invested in, reflecting nice interior (modern) and polite staff (friendly, smiling servers).In fact I would say it’s a hidden gem in Alwoodley, but maybe too hidden, as it felt empty but it really shouldn’t be. The food is nice, and it does a range of sides, but unfortunately nothing Asian (burgers/hotdogs/chicken & fries). It’s a quality pub/bar with prices more than fair for its portion sizes - something that many restaurants fail to achieve. They have a nice seating area with heat lamps (outside terrace closes at 21:00) and the indoor area is spacious and boujee; if it were in Leeds City Centre, it would be rammed with people. Parking is easy, seating is easy, and it’s on a nice street. Without wanting to sound negative, I do have some recommendations to the owners: - Don’t sit on fence with pub/restaurant. Make it one or the other; in my opinion, given the placement, it would make a great bar/pub. You have space, so get a pool table. Fire out some good drinks deals to entice people. Stick some posters around. - Focus on some menu range - you’ve got a cool site so don’t stick to what every other place does, even if your burgers are good. Get some Asian Fusion side dishes, (pork belly hot dogs, salt and pepper fries, hoisin duck spring rolls, etc) - Improve advertisement/online presence. I like your bar & restaurant but I couldn’t find anything about it - no reviews, no proper website, no online menu. Even the opening hours aren’t correct. If you’re struggling with getting people talking, give a free side dish for a review. Whatever it takes for word to spread. To everyone else: - If you live near here or are in the area, then go. It’s a good spot!

Not fully open-only bar snacks available. Sat on decked terrace, nice in the sun. Cocktails on offer 2 for £12 - lovely! Looking forward to full menu, been waiting so long!

It’s not often that a restaurant host leaves such a lasting impression I had suggested The Allerton as a potential venue for our daughter’s 21st, so my wife and daughter went see what they had to offer. I think it took just a few seconds for them to make up their minds. The room was ideal for at least the thirty we were expecting, nothing was too much trouble for Solos, the menus were flexible and so it was booked. The communication leading up to the party and to confirm menu choices was first class, meaning that on the day we had total confidence that all would be under control, allowing us to relax and enjoy. Which is exactly what we did! Thanks also to the team there who completed the process, the chef’s excellent food, the service was fantastic and of course there was Solos, quietly and efficiently making sure that all he had promised came to fruition. From the ease of parking, great hosting and super food, it was also amazing value; so we have conclude that this is a highly recommendable place, whether is a special occasion or just a meal out. Thanks again to Solos, you were brilliant! We’ll be back for our next family gathering! (Ian, Sarah & Alex)

Lovely walk for the dog in beautiful surroundings. Also mostly flat which is good for me as I have difficulty with hilly places.

Good quality fish and chips, nicely battered and reasonably priced. The bar owner is very friendly too

Used to live near by and either went in for a drink only or for dinner/take out as well. Good staff and great food, would recommend.

Thank to the Allerton team for allowing us to have our wedding with you. The whole day and evening were fantastic, the food was divine, the service was impeccable and all the guests including the bride and groom were beyond happy. Great bog room with space for the band and dance floor, private bar for the party and both Sol and Ashleigh were open to our requests and needs. Could not have asked for more.

Excellent venue for large groups

Ate at the Allerton for the first time last night. We really enjoyed every aspect of it - service, drinks and the food. The mozzarella starter and the lamb main were particular highlights. I cannot recommend highly enough - a hidden gem!

We went for dinner in this cozy place and were really surprised by the great food offered. We chose Artisan bread and Hummus with olives as appetizer and had 3 different starters, all delicious. Our mains were also great both fish and meat. The desserts are also highly recommended we had chocolate brownie and sponge in a can. Very friendly

First visit was great with good food and service, but second visit was disappointing: the fish was too greasy and the chips had an odd taste, almost stale as if they'd been reheated.

Just had a drink but normally dinner and always very good excellent food and service ,.

Delicious food and outstanding staff. Host was so enthusiastic and persuasive about the chef specials that my vegetarian partner almost ordered the lamb!

Fish and chips very good made to order I definitely will go again 10/10 for Charlie Brett's also try the bread warm and fresh

Really friendly and welcoming place. Food is ok some dishes delicious, the lemon sole was incredible. Some missed the mark, mackeral fillet tasteless and slightly overcooked. More pros than cons will go again as it's reasonably priced and local. Better than many chain restaurants.

We have never had a bad meal here. We go regularly for fish and chips but went on mother's day for the special menu. We were given a free glass of fizz and 3 courses plus coffee/mints for £21.95. The food was amazing and the staff are lovely. Would definitely recommend. Great for children too.

Great food, friendl service and reasonable price

Very welcoming staff in an elegantly designed environment. Good food (described as fish and modern English) at a low cost. Busy days are Fridays, where I suggest bookings. Walking in without a booking is ok at other times. Takeout or sit down restaurant with a reasonable bar. It is fine if you want to go there for just a drink too. Local produce used for the meals. Worth a visit.

Thoroughly enjoyable meal in a warm friendly atmosphere. This was our first visit as we were tempted by the menu on the website and we were not disappointed. In fact we were kicking ourselves for not eating there before. There is quite a lot to choose from but I chose the hake which was beautifully cooked and tasty and my husband looked happy tucking into a juicy fillet of beef and very moorish chips. Hopefully next time we visit we will have room for a dessert 🍰.

Very disappointed, takeaway was awful, I don't live very far away from the place but they were cold when I got them home and not very well cooked in the first place the chips were half cooked and the fish was soggy I threw it away. Won't be returning

We visited Charlie Bretts for the first time last week and had a fantastic time. The food was top notch and the prices were very reasonable for such good quality. The ambience was very inviting, and even though it was quiet when we visited the atmosphere was still enjoyable. Our host Sol made the experience into something special - he has obviously been in the hospitality industry for a long time and is a consummate professional. This place really deserves to be packed out every night. We will return.

Charlie bretts is truly fantastic! The service and the atmosphere is second to none. From the moment you arrive you feel like your being welcomed by into a family. I've been to many beautiful expensive resteraunts and Charlie bretts is right up there with the best!

Very disappointed as drove past the restaurant tonight at 5:30 pm and it seemed open, the website states open until 9pm so we booked a taxi with friends to go for a fish supper. Got to the restaurant at 7:45 pm only to find the lights off and all locked up. Not on, wasted time, four people looking for somewhere to eat and we really wanted to try this place. Not good enough service!

Absolutely perfect family dinning. The host was a perfect gentleman with knowledge and stories of the globe. The food was exquisitely prepared. I would highly recommend this restaurant to all. Although they were serving 70+ guests, we felt like the only table in the room. I will be dining there again as it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Fabulous seafood dishes, great service, nice ambiance, easy and plenty of parking, can't wait for our next visit.

The gentleman who runs the restaurant knows a thing or two about hospitality. Really friendly, curtious and dignified. The place looks great inside and out with a really nice bar. If the fish and chips are to go by, the entire menu is amazing! Credit to the chefs! It's by far the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. Fresh, white fish that melts off the fork. Non greasy batter, and crunchy but soft chips. The bread and butter is carefully prepared and cooked with great detail and thought gone into presentation. £22 for two fish and chips, bread and butter and two lemonades. Yes, it might sound pricy for what it is, but it is cheaper than going to various other places and certainly worth paying for!

Outstanding. Surely one of Leeds best restaurants!?

A lovely restaurant and bar, with a colourful navy-related interior decor, with a fantastic takeaway on top of it all (which was served quickly), which was still nice and warm by the time I got it home. The staff (including Solas) were very kind, friendly and attentive and we had a great conversation with some good laughs. And as was explained/shown to me, the restaurant is not just a local chippy, rather it is far more than that, with far more sophisticated food on offer (on a large menu) for people wanting a whole sit down top-quality meal, with a great range of beverages to accompany it. And the restaurant itself extends into the back as well, so is larger than you think when first walking in. Very much recommended, would certainly eat there again.

I've ordered takeaway from here multiple times now and have never been disappointed. Has been better than the few establishments I've used on Street Lane

Have just visited Charlie Bretts at the Allerton and I was really impressed with the meal and the service. The menu has recently been updated from fish and chips which were on the menu at my last visit but now it offers so much more. Our waiter was really attentive and very helpful and I will definitely be going there again

I purchased fish and chip to take when they first opened and they were fine,unfortunately on my second visit they were very greasy and soggy batter we could not eat them,a total waste of £12 in future will go back to Nashs

Fantastic place! Bargain for the money! Perfectly created food from selected ingredients and reasonable prices. If this place was in the downtown u never would be able to book a table!!!

Really disliked the layout of the place. The restaurant is like a "box" extension that's been stuck on the back. Strange vibe from the place too.
