The African Steak Hut in Blackburn with Darwen

Ordered 2x sirloin and 1x ribeye. As opposed to other reviews demonstrating thick cut medium-rare steaks unfortunately this time around the cuts were very thin, almost like cheese burgers, not juicy, cooked to utter dryness. Sorry but imo worse than the steak I cook from store-bought 2 for 1 Aldi Sirloin's.

Took over an hour to arrive. Steak was so overdone and cold I could barely swallow it. Hardly any vegetables. Chips were cold and soggy. Not worth the wait. Won’t be ordering here again.

Waited hour and half after ordering on Uber eats, to then be told it says you are picking up. If this is delivery only? Then how am I picking this up? Absolute shambles

Ordered today and food was lovely. Usually steak places are very bland and rely on the sauces to enhance the flavour. However the food here is very well prepared and was a pleasure to eat. Prices may seem a little steep but they do correspond with usual steak eat out prices. However I am a little disappointed with the £2.50 delivery charge since the food being ordered is expensive enough to cover that charge. But it’s more of a suggestion rather than a complaint. Would definitely order again.

Very impressed with the steak! It was cooked beautifully! We ordered a burger too which was nice too but the steak was deffo my favourite! Can’t wait to order again!

Been here before with clients and experience was very good. The food was cooked very well and their steaks and burgers taste extremely well. On this occasion, certain things we had ordered were not available so they improvised and gave us something else in return, which was still very good. It was quiet when we went so food was served reasonably quick. I think the place requires a little more exposure so they can keep their stock supplies topped up for customers. Would definitely recommend.

Food was good, as recommended by a friend. The service was not, they kept forgetting what we had ordered and missed out one meal as well.

Service is great, food is great, price is decent, parking outside, the food is great, them wings just hit the right spot, DEEEEEEEELICIOUS what more can I ask for

Two of us visited here on Saturday evening. The place is small and quiet with a decent amount of seating. There is also a back family room available. The chaps who run the place are nice and humble characters. We had the beef burger 1/3 pound at £7.99 with chips and a can of pop. The burger quality was very good, well cooked and quite filling. I am going to come back again and try the steaks, heard they are also pretty good.

this is a little hidden gem of a place on Eanam next to the Natwest the steaks were cooked to perfection very polite guy taking the order and when the food was in front of me it was delicious to say the least fresh fresh fresh

I've been to this place a few times and honestly love it. When it comes to steaks, they know their cuts and cooking of it. I love their sauces and banter too.

After reading reviews of this steak hut my fiancé and I thought it would be nice to try, we arrived on a Tuesday evening was absolutely dead, ordered the steak share platter medium rare and what we received we wasn't expecting, was told by the member of staff working front of house about plans to make place larger and a full seated restaurant to match the great food.. if that's the plans then the food needs a lot of work,.. both steaks were dry and cooked well done, frozen chips,frozen onion rings, 4 measly slices of button mushroom. Over cooked soggy green beans, floury tasting peppercorn sauce and bland rice... was highly disappointed... with it being so quiet no excuse not to do things properly

I've been here a few times now and the reason why I keep coming back is ive found nothing better than these mouth watering steaks. They have a new addition to the menu with sizzler plates tried that this time they were great. Everything they laid out from the chips, veg and rice was just done right. A great place to go with friends/family. The staff are fantastic and they are renovating to make the place bigger to accommodate more seating for people.

I've been here several times with kids and hubby. We've loved it every time and the steaks are always cooked to perfection. The fact that they offer different cuts is great as not many places do this. They also keep the kids nicely entertained. It's not a fancy place but the food is hard to beat! Sauces are lovely too and great service.

I have made multiple trips to this restaurant and there will be many more to come. The steak is incredible, mouth watering and tender. The service is always made with a smile and the staff are very friendly. They are accommodating and have met my needs by making my food as spicy as I wanted to match my needs. I could not recommend this place enough and can't wait for my next visit - hopefully they will of expanded into next door at that point.

Mouth watering steak that really melts away. Been here with kids and normally my kids end up sharing a steak between them but here at the African Steak Hut they go through one each. Even I've ended up having two steaks that's how much they melt in your mouth.

I actually visited quite a while back but after thinking about the amazing food we had I thought I'd leave a review! We got the family mix and the Nyama Nyama. My family hadn't really had quality steak before but they were very impressed! All the sides were plentiful and tasted wonderful. Definitely recommend the Nyama Nyama as the steak size was very large compared to some places and is definitely good for new customers who want to try 2 types of steak! The staff were also very nice as they went above and beyond with fulfilling a certain request we had! Definitely will be eating from here again :)

This is a lovely little place. So far the best for steaks in Blackburn, for my taste anyway.

Such a friendly warming place to dine in and eat. Ordered a sirloin steak and it came with chips, veggies, onion rings (which were lovely and crisp) and a drink. Didn't have to wait long at all and I was absolutely starving so that helped! Literally ate it all in 10 minutes it was moist, soft and delicious. Probably the best steak I've ever had, it just had this lovely quality to it. It comes with a selection of sauces I picked gravy was perfect and peppery! Also had the chicken which was again cooked perfectly soft and breaking off the bone (as was the steak!). There's this delicious lemony taste to the chicken so not too hot! I would definitely recommend this place and will definitely visiting a lot more! You get a selection of stuff and I hear they've got a lot more steak options now including the fillet Mignon can't wait to try it!

Tasty tender steak and relaxed family atmosphere, recommend the special "nyama nyama" steak, chicken is also lovely and has a great chilli smoky taste yum!
