Lovely meal, staff friendly, very happy with the Acorn 😁

Really friendly staff and such a lovely place to visit. I was served by Mia she provided lovely service and was always smiling.

We booked a table of 12 for lunch. The service was excellent from the moment we arrived. We didn't wait long for our food order. The roast dinners were lovely!

Jack served us and he's always cheerful and helpful, very polite 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I have only visited The Acorn once so my review might be a once off rather than the norm. I found The Acorn to be a very middle of the road pub experience. My friends and I got the Sunday Roast and it was -ok-. The yorkshire puddings were verging on tasteless and the seasonal vegetables were what was to be expected. The turkey was the best part as it was moist and very tasty. I would go back to The Acorn but I'd order something else - it was a very Wetherspoons experience.

It wasn't clear at entry whether we should go to a table or wait to be seated. We needed seating for 5 and ultimately had to squeeze round a square table for 4, which wasn't ideal. The lounge was a little cold. However, ordering at the table was a smooth process, though you could usefully streamline getting on the WiFi. Drinks delivery was then prompt and the length of the wait for food was okay. The food was good and I was pleased to find a couple of vegan options. The staff were very solicitous and friendly.

It was very busy as there was a party with 30+ members but even so we were treated with respect and promptly. We had to request our puddings as they weren't automatically brought but even that was fine as it gave us chance to talk to each other. Thank you.

Terrible experience, I wish I could give 0 stars. We waited forever to be served and had to clean the table ourselves. The app wasn’t working, so we had to order at the bar. After standing there for 15 minutes, I had to get the server’s attention, as they were busy serving someone else even though it was my turn. The place seems to be run by kids with no clue about customer service. The staff looked stressed despite the place not being busy at all. We decided to leave when the waitress finally approached us and said there would be a 40-minute wait for food, which made no sense as most tables already had their food. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless they hire more experienced staff.

I came to a bingo night for the first time and the atmosphere was brilliant the host Kieron was amazing explained everything we needed, I had sang karaoke and the whole audience made me feel welcome there was a worker called Connor C and he let me sit with him and sing along to songs overall I had the best experience ever and would totally recommend coming to the acorn

Kieron is the best bingo host and I love the way they made the way they made the bingo tickets and it the best bingo I’ve been to and all the staff are lovely and very good service

I used the self order app, which is a little clunky. But as soon as the order went through, the staff came over and asked if we wanted starters to come with mains, which we did. The food came on time, with a little confusion as the kitchen thought we had ordered 2 of one item but double checking sorted that. The food was great but we would suggest none seeded buns for the under 5 menu or at least put that is is a sesame seeded bun, as if we had known it was a seeded bun we would of order pasta not the burger for our 2 year old.

Would highly recommend the place. The food is excellent. N the place was bright clean and staff were very welcoming. Bonus for me was it is dog friendly n said dog enjoyed her sausage very much. Tyanx you

We chose to visit the Acorn with our family and friends just after our wedding ceremony. I hadn't visited since last year so we wanted to come and check it out. Staff were very welcoming and courteous. Our table was already reserved ready for us. We were served very quickly. The drinks and food for 10 people was very reasonably priced. We were expecting it to cost much more. The food came after not too long a wait. Food was absolutely delightful! The atmosphere was warm and friendly. Overall our wedding party and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and we are glad we chose the Acorn to celebrate our special day. Will highly recommend to all. Really good food. Very enjoyable mixed grill, better than expected. Very surprised that the place was quite quiet when we went on a Friday night. friendly staff.

I absolutely love the Acorn anyway, so was definitely going to come for the Santa breakfast. The amount of effort and hard work the staff put into this was obvious. The food was brilliant as always, and great value for money. I love how this pub is so family friendly and puts on so many things for kids. I come at least once a month with my mum and daughter. Honestly love the place. Great down to earth pub, and the Santa experience was spot on. Really convincing Santa too!!

Our only criticism was WiFi speed, we could not use mobile data to order our food as there was so little reception, so we were forced to use WiFi. It was a little slow, going through the process of data capturing in order to get access to the WiFi. Everything else was great, our food and drinks arrived swiftly. The quality of the food was excellent.

Came in for a few drinks, mia, jack and connor was great. The service was great and the drinks were poured perfect. They have plenty or events on throughout the months like jukebox bingo, bingo on Wednesday and a weekly quiz on Thursday. A perfect place for all ages :)

came down for the family friendly nye event and throughly enjoyed ourselves (3 adults, 6 children). I loved how the event wasn't oversold and there was plenty of space for the children to get up and enjoy the party games which meant the adults could relax and enjoy our evening. The staff were excellent from DJ Jack, Beth & Sian's buffet/dessert table, bar staff Kate, Jack, Natalya and Samuel. Would recommend this nye event to friends and family

Food was disgusting, had a breakfast and sent it back because my egg was raw, they cut the raw parts off and sent it back to me. Bacon could have walked off the plate. Probably worst breakfast I've ever had to be honest.

Had a fabulous afternoon here, really friendly staff and the festive burger is a must try. Staff to mention are Tonicha, Beth, Hayley and Sian for excellent service and always with a smile.

Saturday was my husbands 70th birthday and I'd arranged for a surprise buffet, of which there are 3 choices. It was absolutely wonderful. The amount and variety of food which was supplied exceeded any expectation. From several types of sandwiches, sausage rolls, pork pies, popcorn chicken, brioche rolls with hot dogs, chips, and salad, just to name a few. As for desserts, there was a choice of 4. It was absolutely beautifully laid out, and the staff kept checking that everything was ok. All the guests were able to return to the table and at no time were we rushed. So I cannot thank Jonathan, and all the staff, especially Sian and Danny, enough for making this a truly wonderful and memorable occasion. I would name you all but would hate to miss anyone out. I would so recommend their buffets for special occasions.

My last experience at the acorn was a bad one however I wanted to try again and give the pub another go. I visited with my friend who had travelled over from Wales on arrival the car park was clean and tidy and plenty of spaces available. We parked and on first view the acorn was lit up beautifully with clean and clear signage and all the pretty twinkling lights. We entered the pub and found a seat immediately my friend visited the toilets and said they were impeccable clean and tidy. We ordered via the app which was quick and straightforward to do. We both chose the chicken burger and chips. Our drinks came almost immediately and we're very refreshing lovely and cold. Our food followed soon behind hot and fresh and very tasty delivered by a friendly happy person. We enjoyed our food and the rest of the acorn patrons seemed to be the same. Whilst moderately busy it wasn't overly full and the nice hum of the surrounding chatter made it easy for us to still talk whilst enjoying our food. We both left full and content and we will be returning

Went on a Tuesday night, it wasn't overly busy. Waited 45 minutes and no sign of the starter. Asked how long it would be to be told the guy who took our order forgot to tell us there was a 45 minute delay in the kitchen and it should be out any minute. Another 15 minutes went by and still no sign. I asked again and said it had been over an hour. Minutes later the starters came out and the chicken strips with popcorn chicken was the smallest portion Id ever seen and couldn't believe the size, it was an embarrassment. Then even more disappointed when I picked a chicken strip up and it was stone cold!!!!!! This was a terrible experience, we decided to just get a full refund and go elsewhere. The last time we went we had a 30% off voucher and very underwhelmed with the food, looking back, don't know why we even considered it again, will definitely not be going back, voucher or not!!

We come every week for the quiz, which was hosted this week by Sian, and its always a good laugh. Food was stunning as usual, cooked by Beth and served by Kate. Bar and waiting staff are all lovely.

Lovely setting but unfortunately not great food. I ordered a Sirloin Steak, well done and it came medium rare. I got about a spoonful of peas and the onion rings were missing. My husband ordered a mixed grill, again missing onion rings and his steak was well done rather than medium as he’d asked. His gammon steak was also way too salty. They did bring us out the onion rings after we mentioned they were missing so that’s good. Overall, we are not going to be back and regrettably would recommend others to not bother.

Just been here for tea, a party of nine of us , ages from 3yrs to 83yrs. Have to say it has improved massively, and we all agreed it's the best meal we've had in this place since it's been open. Compliments to the chef and staff who where very efficient. Will definitely be going back soon.

Great place to watch Super Sunday. Stella and San Miguel on draft, mega mixed grill was mega! I like how there’s a proper bar with the sound on the football on one side and then a restaurant on the other, but they still show football without the sound on the screens! I spent the first half eating in one side and then the second half drinking in the other!

Brilliant family friendly pub serving great food.We called in today at lunch time and there was live music which was brilliant. The manager and staff a really nice and very professional this is quickly becoming our regular place for a meal and a drink.

Waited 45 minutes for the worst sticky toffee pudding of my life. The bottom of the bowl should be covered in sauce. Dry and bland, not worth £2 nevermind £5.79.

My wife and I always enjoy our visit to the Acorn Pub. The food is good and the service is spot on. Once you have placed your order you don't have long to wait for your food.

We are on holiday from overseas, and had a family reunion here, was not disappointed food service was excellent, and such a lovely place. Thanks for making it a special day.

Portions were amazing, great friendly service from Jonathan would highly recommend a visit, we had the fish and the Gammon and deserts all fantastic.

It's always great to visit here, with something for everyone. The events hosted recently have been brilliant. The live music is a must go to!! Good is of good quality and the steaks are great and cooked to perfection. Good TVs in the bar area with friendly welcoming team, it's my go to local!

As it was my birthday I had booked for dinner and for the entertainment. I was treated like a queen, by the staff and the entertainer Joanna was absolutely marvellous, I really had a lovely night, can't wait for the next time

Super friendly. Phoned near kitchen closing time hoping to get a table and Jonathan we as sooooo helpful. Sorted us right out and was so friendly on arrival. Definitely will be coming back :)
