Have eaten from here a handful of times over past two years. This evening (31-Oct-2023) fish is pretty lousy. Doesn’t taste like either Cod or Haddock; it is cooked ok, just the flavour is not good Will try somewhere else next time

I rang them order 2 fish and one portion of chips to be picked up in ten minutes. I was told no problem. When I went in there were a few fish in the warming cabinet but the assistant sold them all to people in the shop. When I said I ordered two fish she told me it would be a few minutes as they had to fry some more I won't go there again for a while ,

I read the reviews on this chip shop and thought i would give it a try sorry but what a mistake that was my dab was very greasy my fish was soggy and the chips i couldnt eat the sausage was fine.my son didnt eat his fish either his was soggy my friend had steak pudding and chips his was ok.i am now going tesco for a meal deal sorry but was not worth the money.

Absolutely beautiful fish and chips. Cooked while you wait. They were delicious and excellent value. Staff great as well.

Fantastic fish n chips, made fresh took 15 minutes but fish was best I've had in ages. Parking a nightmare tho. £15 for X2 portions. Bargain

We regularly get fish+chips here, always excellent, good size portions,worth every penny. They have recently started a delivery service. Even better,I can get them more often now. That was until today.....rang to place my order only to be told I'd have to order via 'Just Eat'. That has done it for me- have read reports of their delivery drivers spitting on the food before delivering. Also read that with Just Eat the food does not necessarily come from the chippy you think you're ordering from. So unfortunately unless I am in town and can go myself, I lose on of my favourite tea's. This is no reflection on Abbey Frier just a shame they had to go with outside delivery.

We were recommended by other people. Wow. food was great . filled a hole for the whole family! Thanks Will be back!

Nothing outstanding, but good honest food cooked and presented well, an OK chippy, what more do you want.

A quick lunch stop didn’t disappoint. We both had Fish and chips in a box! Each box had a fish and loads of chips inside, such a good idea for a lunch time takeaway. The chips were freshly cooked and the lightly battered cod was perfect. The staff were helpful and polite. I was going to post a photo, but it didn’t last long enough for me to! Great takeaway, we will return.

I went because I heard it got voted best chippy in the area or something along those lines. Massive disappointment, comfortably the second worst chips in Accrington (just my opinion). Staff are always very nice and the owner seems like a nice guy but the chips hear are just so bad and it's the main reason for going to a chippy!

I visited today with my husband and I am compelled to write this after the service I received. The woman behind the counter was massively rude when I gave a simple instruction on my husbands food. I have never been spoken to like that from a member of a customer service team. She proceeded to argue with me and told me that in fact, I was at fault. She then told me she would 'do it again' whilst rolling her eyes and tutting. I also received a sarcastic apology. I have left 2 stars, one because the fish was excellent and one because the other young lady serving was lovely. Customer service massively lacking and I've been left quite upset by the experience. I certainly won't be back!

Lovely fresh fish. so fresh it flakes out from the batter. just how it should be. lovely pleasant staff. all condiments readily available. my only complaint..the chips where a tad soggy. But that's still an 8/10 from me for the price. highly recommended.

Sadly they were warmed up chips from yesterday. Most like bits of cardboard. Over half went in the bin.

very friendly polite staff, Fish chips and mushy peas are very nice, Good selection of food and good offers for seniors. Clean and tidy, A bit pricier than other chippy's but worth it!

first fish was in the warmer so long it was like rubber, replacement fish not much better, and 1/3 of the fish wasn't fish just batter will never eat there again, would have left zero stars if I could chips had been waiting for someone to eat them rom yesterday by the taste, best part of the meal was the two slice of bread and marg, One highlight the people where nice and offered to replace first fish promptly, shame the second fish was no real improvement

We are regular visitors to Abbey Frier and we are never disappointed,prompt and friendly service with excellent food whats not to like?.

I recently stopped here on the way to the football. The fish, chips and mushy peas were all perfectly cooked. The fish actually tasted like fish! Together with bread and butter, and a pot of tea, for a senior the cost was an amazing £5.25! Brilliant.

Easily the best chippy in town with friendly staff, fast service, eat in option and wonderful gravy!

My first visit and it won't be my last. This is how I see a local chippy should be, a converted terraced house with the shop in the front and the Cafe in the back.

eat here manytimes over the years and in the cafe they still have the same furniture they had years ago when they first opened plastic garden furniture i used to go with my mum for fish and chips it was ok but not the best so on a visit to the town i decided to nip in and have lunch nothing has changed at all in years was ok but would i eat here again erm not sure

Sort of my local, loves the service and staff make you feel welcome, only have the fish and chips and always great, only issue is pricing is really high but still the best in accy

One of the best fish and chip shops in Accrington. The lady that serves is lovely and friendly. The food is cooked freshly for each order and is of good quality and plentiful. Very fairly priced. Have been several times, without complaint.

This is a great chippy freshly prepared fish and chips must be the best around. Nice little cafe in the back and always friendly service.

We like to pop in regularly to eat in the back cafe area and the fish, chips + curry with a nice coffee always hits the spot. :)
