The food was fantastic and our waiter was friendly, attentive and funny made us feel very welcome. This will now be our new Thai restaurant moving forward.

Worst experience, food arrived late (delivery) and luke warm, never had such a bad chicken pad Thai………ever! How hard is it to get that right? Awful

If you are going to charge such high prices, especially for for food that is delivered it needs to be perfect. Sharing platter was luke warm. £2.50 for delivery, 80p for processing payment and £4 prawn crackers. The menu on your website is out of date. According to the app our food left the restaurant at 7.35pm but didn't arrive until 8.25pm. We were told app wasn't working correctly. Too many inconsistencies given the cost of the dishes.

Very disappointed with the experience!!! I ordered a few dishes via Uber eats and I’m they were delivered nearly 2 hours late. After multiple calls to the restaurant, i spoke with different people each time, I was told that my order had already left the restaurant and was 10 min away. After 30min I called the restaurant again and spoke with a man who wasn’t very friendly. He confirmed that my ordered had left the restaurant as their driver wasn’t there, but he couldn’t confirm where my order was and the delivery was late to due with the traffic. Really?? I won’t be ordering again

Like going but the food can be hit and miss

Had the Pad Thai prawns and my wife had salt and pepper squid. A big disappointed, BLAND! Where were the flavours? Will not order again. Delivered by Uber.

Was looking forward to ordering a takeaway after reading the good reviews but was thoroughly disappointed, my conclusion is that possibly the food is cooked by a different chef in restaurant which would explain the many positive reviews.

Definitely worth a visit,food is so good,well presented ,staff very helpful but not in your face , again food is amazing! .

Amazing food and cute little place! My first time here albeit the people I went with had all been before! Everything was on point, extremely polite people, the food was soso good, portions huge and tasted amazing - I can’t fault it! I will 100% be back! Thank you for a great evening!

Found the food not to my taste found it bland, but if you don't really like spicy food it would probably be for you. The staff were very efficient in there could not fault them

I’m totally gutted, as I had high hopes after reading all the great reviews - but a simple dish, Pad Thai, ordered for collection was really bad. It was tasteless, even after squeezing a bit of lemon it was just lemony. The noodles didn’t look appealing either. The service was nice and the order was made on time, hence I added one more star for it - but really disappointed in food, sorry.

This was our first time of using Thara Thai for our takeaway and we are so impressed. I am so happy that we have an amazing Thai restaurant near us, I had no idea this little gem even existed. The salt and pepper squid was so good in the most amazing tempura batter. We then had green Thai curry, phad thai and beef massimun curry all delicious, if I had to say anything it would be to make the curries hotter please. We will be returning. 😋 thank you.

Fancied Thai food and couldn’t get in at Nam Thai Bromley so this was next closest.Unfortunately the food was awful and when asking for something in Thai the young lady looked at me in horror an said “I’m not Thai” service was average at best.My girlfriend had lamb shank that she couldn’t eat and I had a beef curry that was tough stringy beef and bland.I’ve spent endless months in Thailand over the years and can honestly say this food was so far from authentic.Really disappointing.

We went to this restaurant recently and found the staff to be completely rude and unprofessional, customer service was non existent, in need of serious training!!

This is the real deal and prices are reasonable. The restaurant is comfortable and well looked after. Food was outstanding, the staff were very accommodating, professional and pleasant. You must try the Lamb Massaman. Thank you for a great meal to all.

Very nice thai food in the Hayes area. Would definitely recommend it to others. I can't comment on the table service as I ordered the food to go.

We chose this restaurant after a plea to the West Wickham Community for a good Thai restaurant, but I'm afraid to say this was the most disappointing Thai meal we've ever experienced. Apart from the mixed starters which were passable, the Thai Chicken Green Curry, which is the flagship dish of most Thai restaurants had no flavour, just spicy, and the Paneang Prawn Curry (8 Prawns in total) was bland. The Chicken Pad Thai which is my wife's favourite was stodgy and slimy and had bits of rubbery tofu in it. I'm afraid this was a very disappointing Thai experience and won't be repeated for us. The Montien Thai was the closest we've ever got to proper Thai food in the vicinity (Westerham) but I'm sorry to say that closed down a few years ago now. There just doesn't seem to be a good Thai around locally, such a shame.

I would like to also praise the manager Choi who is a huge credit to this restaurant, he is incredibly professional, always ready to help & do his best for the customers, not to mention his social skills whilst interacting with everyone! I’m so in love with this place! Had a wonderful meal with friends this week and we love how freshly prepared the meals are. Polite crew and the ambiance is just taking it to the next level! Highly recommended! We are definitely coming back!

I normally wouldn’t leave a review, but I think this place deserves a shoutout. The food is authentic Thai and the menu has a variety of choices. The quality of the food is next to none and the service was impeccable. Friendly staff; very accommodating and always happy to recommend best choices from the menu. Would definitely come back!

I do hate rubbishing a a mans or a women’s living running a restaurant but this was probably the poorest meals my wife and I have had for many a year, starter Prawn Tempurae , prawns limp, soggy and tasteless for nearly £8 . Wife’s starter was sweet corn fritters , again limp and chewy , little taste. chicken Massaman Curry and sticky rice ,rice was more than sticky , problems separating it,curry has the oddest taste , almost a sour and slightly stale. ,wife had chicken stirfry noodles with veg such a shame but we hardly ate any of it ,.Something very wrong tonight such a pity but the only redeeming feature was the delightful staff.

We lunched here, because a friend had dined at the Locksbottom Thara Thai and recommended it. As Hayes is closer to home, we decided to give this place a try.I’m afraid we will not be going back. The open kitchen resulted in clothes reeking of cooking after we left. The food was uninspiring. We split the sharing platter for two and had a vegetarian pad Thai.Service was friendly and efficient, but did not make up for the food.

We visited Thara Thai as locally it was getting good reviews on Facebook Pages. We arrived before the rest of our party and was offered a drink straight away...this was lovely, we said we would wait for the rest of our party to arrive. Twice more we were offered drinks prior to our friends turning upWhen everyone arrive - 7 of us in total, we ordered drinks.They took our food orders. I don’t know about you but I always want/expect Thai food to be amazing, a bit more special than what you would get at a Chinese restaurant, it was ok. Duck rolls and calamari for starters, they were ok, nothing out of the ordinary, they needed more seasoning. scallops - very very spicy, artificially spicy. Then our mains, all very basic Thai food, Pad Thai, Noodles. All the food came out hot, however, none of us finished our mains as they were a bit greasy and sickly.....we had a bottle of Prosecco and a glass of Pinot, with some soft drinks too. One of our ‘gripes’ was that whilst some of us had finished our main courses there were some of us still eating. The waitresses were leaning over us to clear the finished plates away, if you were in the localGreasy spoon then this is acceptable, however, we didn’t think it was right that the table was being cleared whilst some of us were still eating. No desserts. The bill came to £180, which we thought was on the dearer side for what we had. This included a service charge of £16.We put our cash in and some of us paid by card. We were preparing to leave when a waitress came over and said we were £1 short...a pound! Was she serious? A £1! I said take it from the service charge ‘ is that what you want to do?’ The waitress asked, a tad sarcastically....a £1! If we were £10 short then come and ask for it but a £1!!!!I know rents are high in BR2 but please! For average food, not very good service we won’t be going back.

Such a great place. Great fresh food, good service and reasonable prices. Only thing to say is.... they need to get on just eat!!!!! We would definitely use them a lot more if they delivered as it’s the best that around by far.

An excellent place. The staff were so welcoming, kind and friendly. The place itself was spotless and the atmosphere was warm and calm. The food was delicious, and also suffering with food allergies, they were more than happy to help me and nothing was too much trouble. Will be coming back again and again , would highly recommend

1st visit to this local restaurant and definitely not our last. Greeted with a warm and friendly welcome and shown to our table by our Waiter Choi. A delicious variety of Thai dishes making our choice very difficult! All cooked fresh to our individual liking. As hot and spicy or mild as you like. As we're not fans of very spicy food,this was a very welcome option. Having visited Thailand recently and loved the food we were curious to see if a local restaurant could live up to our expectations. We were not disappointed! Great choice of wine too.

We came here on 19 July 2019, for the very first time. We were treated superbly by the staff, and the manager came over to see if we were very happy. Our starters were out of this world, our mains were so good, and the dessert was out of this world. We are very fussy foodies so believe me when I say this place is a big must go to. Eating out isn't cheap these days but with good food like this I will happily return, and very happily recommend this restaurant. Deserve top marks all day long. Thank you

After a busy day writing and auditioning in London, I met my wife after work. She works near the Gherkin Building, yes, she's the sensible one in the relationship. Anyway, we both decided we wanted to escape the noise and pollution of London, hop on a train and go home.We arrived at Hayes and proceeded to walk home and looking forward to the pop sound of an extracted cork, complaining that it had been deprived of a home.Then as we passed the Thara Thai restaurant our will was broken by the smells leaking enticingly from said restaurant. We naturally had to give in to our now weakened state.This is a very friendly restaurant. Our waiter Panya by name was a most excellent, kind and caring waiter... a rare thing indeed these days. We would go back there just to see him.However it isn't just about the staff is it? The food was superb and well presented. You didn't have to wait too long nor did the food come so quickly that you start to worry that you are being served TV dinners. The menu gives you decent enough range of choices and the wine menu is good.The restaurant very busy towards the end of the week, so I would recommend going at the beginning or mid week to enjoy the full Thai experience. Most certainly going back.

We visited here as a group of 4 girls. The food here is great! Very fresh and hot. We would recommend the Panang curry (Chicken and beef are both delicious) and also the spring rolls are superb. Such a good Thai. If we HAD to criticise then the rice portions could be a bit bigger.... but that’s being fussy. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again soon. Thank you!

We’ve been here a few times since it opened. Great to have a Thai restaurant in Hayes.Nicely designed restaurant which is usually busy. Being veggie, we were initially disappointed with the lack of tofu dishes on the menu but the staff were flexible in including tofu in some of the mains for us.We’ve tried most veggie things on the menu - all tasty. Service can be a bit mixed but it’s always with a smile. Would be great to see more veggie/vegan and tofu dishes on the menu - as local residents this would definitely encourage us to visit more often.

Haven't been to Thara Thai before, but will definitely go again. Had a superb evening. Excellent service from beginning to end and the food was exceptional. We ordered plenty and got through it all! They even sang Happy Birthday and brought out a dessert for the Birthday Girl in our party.Very friendly staff, very helpful regarding the dishes we wanted to order and it was delicious. Small and cosy restaurant but fantastic atmosphere.

Did a take away on a Sunday afternoon.. Absolute rubbish.. Had ordered duck spring rolls which were full of duck fat which we had to throw away.. The Thai Chicken Green curry was too sweet and quantity was shocking as well..The pits were the Calamari which we couldn't eat as they were full of salt..The restaurant was empty when I went to collect the food.. Am DEFINITELY NOT GOING BACK AND WOULD ADVISE ALL FRIENDS AND FAMILY IN HAYES TO AVOID THIS PLACE.

Tried the hayes restaurant today and had a takeaway. Excellent food, fresh and very tasty. Good service and would highly recommend. Will be trying a sit down next time

Lovely little restaurant with a nice vibe about it. The staff provided a good service and were very pleasant. The food was outstanding, fresh with delicious flavours. Only complaint I would make is on Friday and Saturday they have two sittings 6.30pm and 8.30pm which if you want an evening out with friends those restrictions would stop me booking

I had booked in advance a table for 6 even though it was midweek and I was very pleased that I had made a reservation as there were very few tables empty! The food was outstanding; each dish was freshly prepared and cooked to order. The staff were friendly and efficient. I am looking forward to my next visit.

As the title suggests, the food is excellent for a ‘local’ restaurant, can’t recommend the scallop starter enough. However, the white wines on offer really let the place down. Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio & Chardonnay do NOT pair well with spicy Thai food. Please please please, update the wine list with Rieslings, Gewürztraminer or maybe a Pinot Gris? This would take the restaurant to the next level and make it a must visit, as it stands, I will go back, just as the designated driver next time me.

I’ve tried many Thai restaurants and this is the best around by far! The staff are very friendly and food was excellent I could not fault any of the dishes and will certainly be going back. You’ll feel the same I’m sure

Was actually the one in Locksbottom. Service ok , lacked a personal touch. Food very good, lovely spices. Only has one Toilet for male and one for female, for a new restaurant could have been better. I think it’s too pricey for what it is, small mixer/ splash for spirit £1.60, probably cost 10p!!

I agree with the comments about the service, our waitress was so rude! I’m sticking to getting takeaways as the food is quite nice.

We went to give Thara a try on Sunday as a family of four as it is newly open in Hayes and the service was good, they were able to change the curry to order and made two dishes with very little spiciness for the kids which was lovely and full of flavour. I would recommend trying a few starters as they were very nice and the servings are a good size for starters and mains, me and the kids love the chocolate desserts.Overall it was nice food and service would have love some mints or something with the bill and it is a little pricey but we will be back.

We were a group of 8 people. First the service was poor. The dishes were small compared to the above average price of the local menus. There was a service charge of 12.5% and credit cards were not accepted.All in all a very disappointing evening and for sure we will not return.

We visited the Locksbottom restaurant last week. We were sat at a table but there was a cold draft coming up from a gap in the floor - we asked if we could move & were then sat at a table which was very close & directly behind a table of 4 & nearest to the toilets & kitchen. No apology & the head waitress was really quite abrupt & seemed to be put out we'd asked to move. There were plenty of other vacant tables we could've been moved to so why this one which seemed the worse placed table in the restaurant - apart from the cold one! Service was not great - we were given someone else's order at first & the wrong drinks. Food was enjoyable though so it's a pity our 1st experience to a new restaurant in the area was spoiled by the bad table & service. We love Thai food & are very local to this restaurant but won't hurry back unfortunately.

My husband booked us a table at Thara Thai in Hayes at 8.30pm on Saturday. On arrival we were told “thats your table (still occupied) you can have that one (in the corner next to the loos)!It took 15 minutes before anyone appeared at our table to take a drinks order (the restaurant was not full)! When the waiter did arrive we felt hurried. However we thought we’d order drinks and food given we had witnessed another table being served dishes that were meant for others. Rather than replacing the dish the plate was simply taken to the correct table. We went on to order the Thai beef salad, which was basically a well cooked beef steak with a pre packed bistro salad. A massaman curry, which was watery, lacked coconut and had hard vegetables (potatoes almost raw) and finally a red chicken curry which tasted ok but was no more authentic than a bought paste and a curry you might make yourself, lacking all typical Thai ingredients such as baby aubergines, kafir lime leaves, lemon grass etc etc.In summary the food was eaten but was below par and not authentic. The service was abysmal, staff were not attentive. In fact we asked that service be removed and that seemed non surprising to our waiter which is simply odd.To the owners of this establishment, this restaurant isn’t even close to authentic Thai. It simply is not good enough to open a substandard restaurant in an affluent area and expect people to pay for poor service and food; word of mouth travels! Personally I’ve eaten superior dishes in a beach shack on Koi Sumui and this restaurant does a disservice to truly Thai restaurants and the ethos and style they offer!!

Went with a friend at the weekend and the food was really excellent. We both had curries and were expecting them to just taste similar but they were completely different, really unique flavours. Could've eaten everything on the menu, highly recommend

I visited the new Thara Thai that has just open in Locksbottom, it had been open for two days and said they had a sister restaurant in Hayes. I went in because of their 'lunch time tapas' which was brilliant value for money. As for the food, it was delicious! There isn't many nice Thai restuarants around, and this place is well worth it. I can't comment on the evening menu, however the lunch tapas offer (4 small plates to share for £10.95) was brilliant value and was enough for two people - as a lunch portion. If you haven't been, then I would recommend a visit and I will be back. Also, thank you to the very lovely waitress we had!

I went with a group of friends and we were excited that there was a newlocal Thai. The restaurant is very small and quite noisy so don’t go here if you want a romantic or leisurely evening. The food was lovely but our waitress was so rude and abrupt that she spoilt our evening and we were all quite shocked, mainly because she couldn’t hear our orders and was rushing us through our meal. We won’t be returning.

Very tasty and authentic Thai food, although a little on the pricey side. That said the service is very good, so worth the occasional visit. Also a nice addition to Hayes.One other thing, its advisable to book well in advance as its not very big and tends to get busy.

First time in here and whilst the food was nice, I’ve had better Thai food locally and the bill was pretty steep. Also, we waited far too long. Not sure I’ll bother coming back.

First of all, I love Thai food, and was looking for something besides Indian restaurants and the Turkish restaurant, so had been anticipating their opening...and was not disappointed. Really nice people, great service and really good food. Started with prawn crackers that were very good, chicken satay with a nice peanut sauce and pad Thai to follow. The 2nd night (Yes, we went twice in one week) we had spring rolls and duck rolls for starters the mixed seafood with spicy red curry and coconut milk and the green curry. It was all delicious. Prices are about on par with all the other restaurants in the high street, so it is now my favourite.

Award - worthy Thai food and extremely helpful and friendly staff that always will give you a smile. Definitely recommend as a destination for the family or just as a couple: in fact whoever your with or even by yourself if you like Thai food. So if you are in the Bromley, Hayes and looking for yummy Thai this is the your place.
